So I flashed 4.2.5 earlier today, and ever since, about every 30-40 minutes, it shows the cyanogen boot screen, and acts as if I just rebooted the phone.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Same here. Was working fine in 4.2.3 but now reboots every 45 minutes or so. No idea why. Don't see any other issues. I don't have compcache or anything else unstable on.
no problem here .did you try re flashing?
While we're at it, anyone else having problems with 3g? If I turn 3g on ( disable only use 2g networks ) my service goes haywire, and I can't call/text/surf/ anything, it's quite a nuisance, not something real urgent, I'd rather get this rebooting thing fixed first.
Edit: Wiped everything and re-flashed, and now it's running smooth as silk

Can someone please help me..
I installed Cyanogen 3.4 when it got released a few days ago and it was running smoothly.. I think he is a genious. Just today my phone shut off on its own and I had to take the battery out and put it back in to get it to come back on. I don't know if it is Cyanogen or some sort of app, as I download apps quiet frequently. I am going to go through my apps now and also reinstall Cyanogen 3.4 tonight and leave my phone on all night. I guess I will have to see in the morning..
Anyways, can someone help
I ve fot sometimes the same issue with dudes cupcake which use th cygnonen kernel...
I ll be glad to have a fix
Are you overclocking the processor? That might contribute to it shutting down.
I do overclock but why do i have to 'battery pull' to make it reboot?
Yes, same issue here.
Uhh, again...
Powered up, set to standby, waited 1 min, shut down.
EDIT: I'm on Rogers Cyanigenized.
Same issue here. Complete lockup with screen off, have to pull battery to boot again. Seems to happen every 6-12 hours for me.
My Phone:
Cyanogen 3.4
radio 2.22.19.26I
Haykuro's SPL
Kernel 2.6.27.24-cm by [email protected] )
NOT overclocked, and no clocking tools even installed. Persists after several clean wipe and reflash also.
This thread's timing is great... I was just about to reset back to rc29 and build back up. Thought I was going to have to replace my phone

This question should probably be in the Dream section and will probably get locked/moved but Pulling the battery reset the "overclock" until it boots back up. This would be why pulling the battery helps.
hey you don't havbe to pull battery just push end call start call and menu all at once it will reboot you phone
Ok, thanks to Jakob, we know, that android freezes, is doesn't shut down.
I now tested with and without overclock, it made no matter to me not to overclock, there's no difference.
But I experienced it didn't happen when it's connected to a charger..
mysterious..
This keeps hapening to me, first it was happening in Cyanogized Rogers rom, then in The Dudes 1.3 b 12, I'm flashing JAC1.62 right now, this never happened to me before I got my class 6 16gb and started using apps2sd
Just curious, does this happen to anyone without a2sd
i'm having the same problem
seems to happen in the builds using the Cyanogen kernel. I'm sure this issue will iron itself out in future releases so just sit tight.
I too am having the problem on the Cyanogen 3.4 build. Its definately a change in 3.4 as I didn't have this problem in any of the 3.3 betas. I'm doing Apps2SD as well.
One thing I have noticed as well is that networking has been acting flakier than normal.
I had this issue on the pre-cupcake radio but not as frequent, so maybe it's just an amplified version of the same problem? There was a thread about it before but I'm too lazy to search for it.
The hangs was the only reason I moved to virtududes rogers rom v3
I'm going to try and get this sorted out tomorrow. For some reason the OOM killer kicks in sometimes and kills a critical process like zygote.
atleast you don't have this problem!
I've reflashed, wiped, formatted and apps2sd2 or sdpsplit, so many times already... trying different ways for each. But same thing always happens... my memory card gets damaged then wiped all by itself.
Uninstall toggle Setting and use Reparing Ext partition with Cyonagen recovery seems to fix this issue
So happy I found this thread! I'm using Google Ion and having this issue since yesterday. So annoying. Anyone got a fix?
I`m having the same problem, the phone freeze, looks like is a hardware problem, i`m on CRC1
I have started to have this issue as well. I am currently running Cyan4.1.999. It happened yesterday while on a call, after a call, and also while the phone was on charge.
Solutions?
So I have a ADP-1 and about once a day it freezes after you put it in standby I end up having to take the battery out and putting it back in and reboot, when I say it freezes it is unresponsive to any buttons you push. I thought it was an app causing this so I run advanced task manager and kept only weather widget running as far as apps go. as far as processes go i don't know what can be turned off or not so I have not alltered them. I am running cyan 3.6.5. Any way to tell what is causing this. It boots back up fine everytime and only does this once a day. Any Ideas?

Pretty much the same, auto a2sd if you have card partitioned right. I'm liking it alot. The latest is 3.6.7.2
I keep reading about compcasche do I have to do that I am not comfortable in the console.
I've never had to do much in console with Cyanogen's but thats just me. I just flashed this on there and away I went.

do you know if android plus theme works with the new ROM? Just looked it does not
Post back with how it works out for you
Try turning off your data roaming.
Settings -> Wireless Settings -> Mobile Network -> Data Roaming
or something like that
That should fix it, if not, reflash your ROM
P.S Android + will not work with Cyan 3.6.7-2
Cyan will be releasing 3.6.8 today, and OhMarni will port it as soon as everyone thinks its stable.
thanks! You guys are great
after disabling data roaming the phone went about 48 hours and froze again tmobile said there is basically no info about that problem that they could give me being that I upgraded the recovery the warranty has been voided. Any other Ideas?
it froze up again and I called it from My wifes phone and It unfroze the buttons blinked twice and the screen came on so this is app or ROM related. is there an app that can record the functions on the phone to see what the last function was that is causing the problem?

read up on adb, get it to work and type adb logcat
you shouldn't have told tmo you upgraded your recovery, rooted......
if all else fails, flash RC29 (DREAIMG.nbh) and start over
Hi Guys,
I have been running the Cyanogen 4.2.15.1 rom for some time with no problem. Recently I updated my radio to the 2.22.23.02 and it significantly improved my 3G signal, that siad the problem has occured before I made this update but no as often.
When I settled on a theme I wiped the phone, re-installed cyanogen then wiped and installed the theme(Darkstar 1.07R2), since then the phone has been freezing randomly, yesterday I pressed the menu button and the call lights came on but the screen stayed blank, I waited for 30 secs or so but nothing so I did a battery pull and rebooted. It took a while after it booted before I was able to do anything but back to normal again.
Then a few hours later I went to make a call and this time the screen came on but was black with a line just right of centre again a battery pull and all is well.
Since then everything has been ok, anyone else having these issues have search but cannot find anything.
Thanks In Advance
A little background on my phone:
T-Mobile G1 USA, black
2300mAh battery
Amon_Ra's Recovery
CyanogenMod5 Test 6
Newest Radio
DangerSPL (Hayukos, however it's spelled)
Launcher Pro
Ok, so here's the issue:
A while back my Wifi stopped working completely. I flash my phone a couple times a month, every couple of months. I get bored and look for a good ROM every so often but once I find one I like I stick with it for a few months.
If I can coincide Wifi issues with a ROM, it would have to be KingKlick's 2.1 Espresso, but I'm not positive on that and I can't blame it on one ROM, at least I don't think so. It doesn't work with ANY ROM since around that time when I flashed that ROM (about 3-4 months back).
Since I flashed Super D 1.1x and up it works for about a minute or two and then I get an error saying there's no connection in the browser, Youtube, etc. It's doing this with CM5.0.7 test X.
I've done complete wipes of the phone through Amon_Ra's recovery, Data, Dalvik, EXT, battery, rotate... reflashed fresh ROMs... won't fix it.
I don't see how this could be a ROM issue at all, since it's across different 1.6 and different 2.1 ROMs. I also don't see how it could be a hardware issue since it works for a minute or two then stops.
So could this be a radio issue... or an SPL issue? I don't know exactly what those are, so I couldn't say. Would flashing the radio again fix the issue? Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
Download an application called "wifi fixer" from market. It seems to fix issues like this. Just a chance, though.
Strangely, I started having the same problem a few weeks ago. Wifi only works from a few minutes, to a few seconds. If I stream some music, it may last all night. Next to playing around with apps, I have not re-flashed my G1 at all. I found setting a static IP sometimes helps.
Trying wifi fixer now.
Downloaded it... doesn't work!
It seems to stay connected about another minute or two longer, but that's it. The app itself is really laggy and I keep getting a Not Responding error when trying to pop up the menu to get the logging to work.
When I finally get the menu to pop up I have no clue how to even get logging to work, there's the button for it but I have no clue if red/green is on or off. The pop up "Enable Logging"/"Disable Logging" doesn't really explain it well. I have no clue if it's saying I did enable or disable. And I have no clue where it saves the file.
Thanks for the suggestion though. And I don't know if it's T-Mobile, but my internet in general isn't working right now. 3G shows several bars but it won't load ****... I've had this problem before when T-Mobile was just the issue for a few hours.

Sorry, fixed my issues without any problems when I had them. =[ I don't know why it's so buggy for you, worked like a dream and that was the only reason I suggested it. Sorry to offer false hop. =[ I can't really be of much more assistance.
my g1 keeps on restarting after i downgraded my phone to rc29 so i can root it. this never happen to me before. if i have my charger plugged into my phone, when the phone loads and passes the g1 screen onto the android screen, it'll automatically reboot itself. if my charger isnt connected. it wont reboot, it'll just turn off. i have 2 g1s and both battery are working perfectly. what am i doing wrong? i can enter to recovery mode and fast boot without any problem. DREAMIMG is installed correctly also. a little help will be great! thanks in advance
I've just ran into this myself. I am running Biffmod 2.0, went into UI settings, changed LED notification for missed call, it rebooted, changed it back, still rebooting, rebooting itself ever since. Put it on charge as I have to go out. Picked it up, missed call. Rebooting. Went into Menu to look at LED settings, still rebooting.
:/
Give up. GAME OVER.
Well, not so dramatic. Short answer for me = Hard reset. Not much on there anyway. Done too much reflashing for that.
