Mar 08 08]Dutty's Official WM6.1 5.2.19199 UC RTM [User Guide in Post 2] X3 Variants
all working well apart from the fact I cant get touchkeyboard to work now.
does anyone have a keypad cab or app that will allow me to type messages used a keypad on screen.
I tried this one and no joy..http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...oard-v1-0.html
i am also interested in this, i have been using SPB full screen keyboard for a whle now but it dosnt seem to react to be accurate as well as it can be. i am looking for an alternative to the slide out keyboard so i wouldnt need to use it all the time just to respond to a quick message....
screen shots would be nice
Look up PocketCM here
You know in the other forum I attached the touch keyboard and keypad to my post. I actually like the touchpal keyboard from cootek.com the best. I can type so fast on it I dont even use the hardware keyboard at all anymore.

New To The Diamond

hey guys im new to Windows Mobile in general but specifically the Touch Diamond i've updated the bootloader and firmware to a custom one allready.. i need some help..
im after a speedy firmware which doesn't loose the asthetic look of the touch diamond im also after some sort of mod which allows me to use the horizontal full qwerty keyboard for sms can anyone help me out here or even tell me if these are possible? cheers
You can use GSen or Gyrator to rotate the screen in all apps rather than just album and Opera and then you can use the horizontal keyboard for messaging. Just search for them. Can't help you with firmware recommendations, I'm using the standard one.
hey mate i have gsen but it doesn't seem to work in the sms app... only in the original wm6 menu's
That's odd, I just ran GSen and checked, it works for me in the messaging app. It's definitely running? There should be a single white pixel in the system tray up the top. Try opening GSen CFG and then using edit > restore to default. If that doesn't work you might want to try posting in the GSen thread, I'm sure there'd be one somewhere.
hey guys just installed gyrator and it fixed it up, now i just need some advice on the rom i find it shocking just running touch flo takes over half the systems memory
Try Shaks ROM, it retains the standard TF3D looks with useful added apps and is as stable as any ROM is gonna get.

Install HTC Touch Keyboard to Moto Droid

Love the HTC keyboard, can anyone instruct me as to how to get the HTC keyboard on the Motorola Droid? TIA
Welcome to forums
As we are an HTC devices only forum you won´t get too much attention.
Better try here:

Good luck,
There are themed versions in Rom Manager. I use swype, so I never looked real hard for htc, but it's available for Droid.
Hero Keyboard (htc keyboard download)
Hi there, here is a download for the Hero keyboard, (which is the htc one, i havent actually tested it my self.
http://bit.ly/9daoNP
heres the notes on it from ShariarKuasa
It has no lag either and has phone keypad, full qwerty, and compact. But for some reason it only has t9 when texting and not in search option but still worth replacing the usual Keyboard. To install just download the zip file then extract and install the two apk's then go to settings>locale & text> then check the touch input then long press on the text box area till it says input then select touch input. (you have to install clicker apk and htc_ime apk for this to work).
It works on both root and non-root users.
I run jonasl's HTC_IME v19 on my Droid without any issue, it works great for me. It's a modified HTC_IME.
wow, telling him to go elsewhere and linking to weird megaupload files?
Here, go to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416 This is the modded version of the HTC keyboard that most of us use.
and if you want a custom themes version of it, you can go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654179
This is the latest jonas IME keyboard v.26 (HTC Keyboard), works perfect on my droid:

Does HTC_IME cause conflicts on G1?

I've read a lot about the HTC_IME keyboard on this forum and really want to install it on the G1, but I've read conflicting reports about it causing conflicts with the G1's physical keyboard. Is that true, or can some G1 owners confirm that the HTC virtual keyboard works without conflict?
NO i use it on cyanogen rom, first get the files needed onto your sd.Turn off android input in local, then use astro to install ime then the clicker.apk, finally goto settings->locale turn on new input setting, reboot.
I use it sometimes can be tricky to get in but it is some much better than stock.
it CAN cause conflicts, but they do work together well. i have an unthemed version of HTC_IME and i have them both turned on so that when the keyboard pops up, you see the android VK instead of the HTC_IME keyboard, and it still uses all the functions of the HTC_IME. (honestly i dont like the way the HTC_IME's keys look so cluttered with numbers and symbols, but i love the user-dictionary functions and such. )
Anyway right when i made the switch to donut i had a problem with it when i tried to calibrate the HTC_IME keyboard without having the clicker.apk installed, continuous loop of FC's of the HTC_IME and i had to go all the way back to cm-4.1.11.1 and then flash back to 4.1.99 THEN back to the latest to get everything back to normal again. but since then i havent had a single problem with it, and they both work perfectly together...

the only "conflict" i've had with HTC_IME and the physical keyboard was when i was typing on the physical keyboard, it made the sound it makes when i type on the VK. not sure that's really a conflict though.
The only problem I've encountered with the HTC IME on my G1 is that when I touch the screen with the keyboard open, the soft keyboard's suggestion thing comes up when I start typing again. It goes away once you close & open the physical keyboard, though.

Yup this and the one above is the "conflict" that is widely known. its more of an annoyance
Thanks all for the input. I've searched and read through a lot of threads on this forum about installing the HTC VK, but there seem to be a lot of different installation procedures out there.
What would be considered the safest/easiest procedure for someone who is a novice with modding Android?
I've modded phones before, but that was only flashing feature phones with generic unbranded firmware...I've never done anything with Android. In fact, I've never even plugged in my phone's USB cable. If someone could post or link to the best installation procedure for the HTC VK I'd appreciate it.
EDIT: I'm running the stock T-Mobile 1.6 ROM if that matters.
Download the files from this thread and use AppInstaller from the Market. I'm just going by what other ppl have said in that thread so I cant guarantee anything w/ that app, I used adb to install the IME on my phone.
*EDIT* Also, just found this: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/How_to_install_HTC_Keyboard.

That does sound annoying. Does the conflict go away if you go to Settings and switch back to the Android keyboard? Or is the issue there whenever the HTC VK is installed?
Yes it can be annoying when suggestions pop up when using the physical keyboard w/ HTC IME, just don't tap text entry fields when using HTC IME, use the trackball instead. Probablem solved. Just install it. You can go to settings > Locale and switch to the google IME whenever you want.

Only when HTC IME is enabled.
I got it installed and it's working beautifully!
Thanks to HTC for creating it, and to Cyanogen for making it available!

ya this is what i do. i like having this vk over any other vk because its accurate.... i dont always wanna open my phone lol.
I'm actually not having that problem. My issue is a little different.
Even though I have auto spelling correction enabled for the device keyboard, auto correction isn't actually working. This has been the case ever since I installed and switched to the HTC virtual keyboard.
Does anyone know a fix for this, or is this one of those things I'll have to live with?
what rom are you using it on?
This is the stock T-Mobile 1.6 ROM.
I have a 1.5 Dream & no prob with HTC_IME! Just looking to go up to 1.6 now!

Installing Swype for Android

Hey Guys,
Can anyone tell me how can I get the swype to work on the X8, i've installed it and it runs, i select to use the keyboard BUT when it shows up and I swipe it seems to be off by a lot on the swype, like if the keys werent calibrated and adjusted to the screen swypes. Any idea on how i can get this wonderfull app running on the X8, since I had it on my Nokia 5800 this was the fastest way to text, now I can't handle the keyboard either htc nor android live up to the swyping technique!
Thanks in advance for your help.

Dont know, but why dont give a shot another great keyboard, in fact the one that I love, SlideiT. Is working great in my x8

Thanks for the advice, I downloaded and tried this one BUT after I restarted the phone and I select the typing area the keyboard won't come up, I have to select the Android or HTC one again, I un-installed it and installed again but the keyboard swiping doesn't really work quite the same as SWYPE because it kinda releases the motion in the middle of a slide. I will try GO keyboard now just cause I rather swyping than typing.
