On my old ETEN M600 (RIP) I had a phone pad app/skin that gave me big buttons and when a dial button was pressed the phone vibrated for a 1/4 of a second. It was great physical feedback to feel that little blip when a button was pressed and I believe it allowed me to dial numbers quicker. Anyone know of a app that enables this for the Tilt/Kaiser?
And yes I did a search for this before I posted a new thread.
Thanks

How to set up one button press on/off with device and screen locked
Also for those that are interested. I have AE Button Plus, Ilauncher and DeviceLock by Matt Armstrong installed on my Tilt. The combination of these programs allow me to program the left softkey to turn off the Tilt. Matt's Devicelock auto locks the phone and prevents any other buttons to be pressed. When I want to use the phone I can press the left hard key that corresponds with the left soft key and that turns on the phone and unlocks it with one button push. This set up gives me one button off/on and all other keys and the screen is locked from accidental button pushes. Now I just wished that Devicelock would shut off the phone after 10 seconds if not unlocked. Right now my phone is in my pocket and if I accidentally push any button other then the left hard key my screen will turn on in a locked state and time out only after 1 minute if no other buttons are pressed. I would like it to turn back off faster.
BTW Thanks Matt
Not an app but it can be done with registry tweaking:
[It involves modifying registry keys so beware].
Navigate to HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\
In here there are a bunch of keys named Dtmf which represent all the keypad keys [0-9, #, *]
Rename Standard DWORD parameter Sound to Sound1
Create new String Parameter Sound
Assign value *vibrate* to this new parameter.
Save and exit, test it, then go back and do the same for all your keys, sorted.
A .cab for this?
Is there a .cab floating around for these reg settings?
It would be a great contribution to the community if someone could whip up a cab to make these reg changes ;-)
Wow, now that was usefull. I had installed some small prog to do the same, but it didn't work great. It wouldn't vibrate unless you pressed for a more than 250 ms. This mod vibrates immediately! Thanks!
someone should tell Kaisertweaks that that needs to go in
Here you go, working great on the TyTN II
That's what I'm talking about

Thanks Gizmo!
I love this place. Where would WinMo be without xda-developers???
Any chance you could upload the .cab directly instead of zipped? For some reason it won't extract on my tilt and I can't get to a PC tonight.
Thanks again.
Sure thing, here you go
Installed and it is working great. This is really a great tweak!
aren't dtmf tones what are used for things like voicemail and such? like "press 7 to delete" it recognizes the sound? does this affect that at all?
I don't think this tweak has any effect on dtmf tones. I just tried my VM and everything worked as usual.
strange...i installed this on my tilt (htc rom) and when i touched a button there was no vibrate, until about 5 seconds later, it was delayed i guess, and after that i never felt another vibrate, even after a few resets.
bump.
would like to get this working.
Will this make it beep and vibrate or just vibrate? It would be cool it it could do both at once!. Also, maybe post cab to revert back to just the sound in case anyone wants to change it back?
Mikeeey,
Try holding the number down a little longer. If you just touch it, it will display the number but not vibrate.. I had the same trouble also.
I do appreciate the afford, but shouldnt it just work when it notices a keypress, not a long keypress.
You have to hold it for a little time. Thats how it works

That's how the cab file works. But when I did the registry edits as listed in the 2nd post, then it is an immediate vibrate. I used to use the cab file version. I removed that and went with the direct reg edits. Now it vibrates immediately.

thanks for pointing that out dalewinterstein, it works for me now.
i did the manual reg edit to try and make it respond faster but it doesnt, actually the keys lighting up after being pressed dont respond fast enough to my presses, does this happen for anyone else? i mean if i hold it just a bit longer it will light up and vibrate but im normally faster than that.
First I would like to state that none of the graphics in this cab file are my work. I don't know who made them but it wasn't me. Also, I am not the developer of psShutXP.
What I did was fix psShutXP so that it replaces the Long-Press Power Key. Instead of having a lame, white "Do you want to shut down" window that pops up when you hold the power button, you will have a nicely skinned psShutXP window that gives you the options to turn off the display, power off the device, reboot the device, hard reset the device, and even gives you the options to set reboot schedules.
Note that ALL functions are working in this cab that I put together including Shut Down.
I made 2 cab files. One for the Fuze and one for the Touch Pro.

Very neat app. it matches my black theme.
not questioning, but wondering what the diff is with this one and the cab from the diamond forum for psshutxp that works on our fuze's to map it to longpress power key?
I just override the original .exe file with renamed psShutXP.exe and put the skin in the same directory, works like a charm
//Edit
From what I can see, your CAB does exactly the same thing .

if you look closely you will see that the themes are slightly different. The diamond one i posted in the diamond forum says diamond, the TP one says power options, the fuze one says fuze. not huge differences but differences non the less.

Lol nope. Just the themes. This cab file is actually the best way to go IMO because it offers the Shut Down capabilities of PowerOffWarning.exe with the added looks and functionality of psShutXP.
Hands down, a winner in my book.

Wow, I did the exact same thing about a month ago on my TP ROM. Used the same skin too but slightly modified.
Did you just renamed PsShut or did you do something differnt? I havent had a chance to look yet at the cabs. For my cab's I renamed PsShut to Poweroff warning.exe or whatever. I then made it into kitchen selections. If anyone is interested I can upload them when I get home.
One of the best apps I've found. Thanks for your work.

If you look closely at the cab files you will see that this does not just rename psshutxp.exe to PowerOffWarning.exe. It actually contains both exes but in a working combination so that the power off function actually works.
perfect reset tool for me
That's exactly what I've been looking for, with the perfect skin for my Touch Pro (resp. T-Mobile MDA Vario IV), thanks for your good work!
Just a remark: on my device it installed to the Windows directory and did not create a link e.g. in startmenu/programs, made that manually since I like the additional possibility of resetting without need of using hardware buttons, could be a further improvement.
The basic psshutXP from developpers web site did that, maybe it's also a good idea to leave the link to that site here:
http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/index.htm
There you'll also find additional skins, though these black HTC adapted skins from above are perfect.
so... psshutxp "shutdown" function of this cab... really power off the device or just send it to stan by? its works for QVGA?
Thanks for the utility. I think it is very useful.
Question - after installing, it places itself into the System Tray in the Today's screen. Is there anyway of removing it - afterall, using this utility is already so easy via the power button.
QVGA available

Hello wolframio,
look to the basic developers page for QVGA skins, there are some available:
http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/skins.htm
http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/users_skins.htm
You'll need those one for QVGA devices, also a HTC adapted black skin is there.
It turns off device, switches display off or restarts your mobile, even hard reset is possible with some 'hidden' button on upper right side, with confirmation pop-ups...
i mean, this really turn of the phone, i got psshutxp cooked on my own rom with my own psshutxp skin
excellent app
thank you!!! not much but here you go 29275987W5492260D
This is still not shutting down my Touch Pro (CDMA, MightyRom 4.16). When I press "shutdown" it just turns the screen off. And now it has taken over my power button, so I REALLY can't shut down.
EDIT: Actually, I see that by long-pressing the power button, and pressing shutdown on this tool, my phone actually does shutdown. But it doesn't work when I launch the program instead of pressing the power button. Is this what is intended?

DarkBlue Skin for WMP

Portrait and VGA ONLY!
Installation - Extract the entire folder into \Program Files\Windows Media Player\
Open WMP, go to menu>Options>Skins and select DarkBlue
Just a small contribution back to the community here at XDA. If you like it just say thanks!
Downloads below
RadialBlueBasic & Darkblue - No mute or fullscreen buttons
Thank you very much, I downloaded this skin and fits perfectly my need for a big Play/Pause button. With the other skins I was touching the close-by buttons all the time, causing the record to go all the way from the beginning or to the end.
The project is perfect as it is, however, should you ever want to make some modifications, how hard would it be to add a Mute button?
all the best

edit - sorry for the double post, my connection went down
I'm glad you like my skin!
I have been working on another version, I just changed the background. I will be posting it soon.
It won't be too hard to add a mute button, just not sure where to put it. I don't use mute so I didn't add one in. I'll see what I can come up with for you.
Keep checking back, I'll probably have it ready in a week or so, along with the new version.

New skin now available - Radial Blue. I added a mute and fullscreen button. The mute only version was unbalanced so I added fullscreen too. Hope you like it.
I will upload the DarkBlue skin with mute and fullscreen buttons soon, in case anyone likes the first version better but wants the new buttons.
New skin
Wow, thank you very much. I downloaded it (the one with the Mute button) and looks great. I really appreciate your efforts.

I'm running Josh's WM 6.5 release and my SMS screen shows the typing box behind the lower curtain (Reply/KB/Menu). On my last rom (Phoenix II 6.1), there was a .CAB fix that took care of that problem on Tilts specifically, but I can't remember what it was. What was it?

Quick fix
if the box is too small or isn't visible to your liking, try clicking on the keyboard button to bring out the SIP, then again to hide it. When txting in landscape mode, sometimes the box is too small and doesn't properly use the scroll bar on the side. This has managed to fix the problem for me....till it comes back a week later

Hi
I'm a big noob and I apologize in advance if this has been covered, but I have been looking everywhere for it and dont even know what it would be called. I have an AT&T Tilt and running mbarvian's amazing Solacev 3.1 ROM. I recently spilled coffee on my phone and cant use the qwerty correctly. I ordered a new one on Ebay, but it will be a while before it gets here. I have installed the HTCDiamond qwerty on the phone, and really like it. I would prefer to use it in landscape when I SMS and browse online. Is there a way I can put my phone into landscape without flipping the qwerty out? Maybe a setting I cant find or a .cab out there I dont know about? What I would like is a program where I could assign it to a button to put the phone into landscape view. Any idea what I'm talking about or am I just retarded?
You could use mortscript (you'll find it somewhere around here) and create a script to flip it into landscape. Dead easy.
simple!
i have button 6 hold (button 6 is the PTT button on the left side of the device above the scroll wheel) mapped to "Rotate Screen".
goto Settings->Personal->Buttons and select "Button 6 (hold)" (or whatever button you want) and map it by choosing "<Rotate Screen>" near the top in the drop down list on the bottom.
Awesome, thanks alot
