Dutty ROM Problemm - Touch HD Windows Mobile ROM Development

I have try the following ROMs and have some problems. Just wonder if anyone has the same problem
Duttys HD WM6.5 Leo Holy Grail R0
--PHM Registry Editor is not working??? It can be scroll up and down but cannot go in any root???
Duttys HD WM6.5 HD Sense 2.1 Holy Grail R0
--Whenever I turn on the phone and message pop up it say zz.exe cannot be open???Anyone know what is the zz.exe program>>>

I have tried both of these roms. With the reg editor it is strange and has the same problem if you install Hd tweak you have to sort of hold the stylus down long enough to register but not long enough for it to pop up the option bubble. There is a reg setting that you can change that eliminates this and changes the touch imput back to normal.
As for the zz message i didnt get this problem and i was using holy grail for about a month and only just installed Energy rom 2.1 win 6.5.1 rom works well and i find 6.5.1 is actually bit more user friendly

How about asking that at Dutty rom topic?

In Registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Touch\Filter]
"MinimumTapTime"=dword:00000000
This is a much comented issue, a little bit of searching, easy to find!
PS: softreset is recomended after registry edit.

Hello
About your second problem, I got the same and told it in dutty's forum about ROM (but without answer).
After two or three days of use, the phone crashes and sometimes auto-hard resets!

thanks all for the help, But I found that both of the rom I mention aren't stable. And I flash with the Dutty's_HD_WM6.5_5_Leo_R7 and all work fine.

Fix мinimal тap тime set it to 0
There is a Fix

The second problem doesn't appear on most peoples phones so maybe a reflash or hard reset could fix it.
As far as stability, i havn't had absolutely any. For me this rom works really really well, has never hanged on me and is the only rom i've ever used continuously for a while so maybe one problem is related to the other?

Funky X-Button

I was reading PDAVIET's wm6.1 thread and i saw that evidently there was an error of some kind in which attempting to press the x-button actually causes you to press the button directly below it. This post said that the same problem existed on the Touch-It roms.
I went and flashed TouchIt 4.41 and woe is me, this problem does indeed exist. It gets quite annoying, especially on the today screen. Is there any solution to this problem? It seems that it is still prevalent in wm6.1, and i, along with many others, would definitely like to be able to use itje's wm6.1 rom when it comes out.
PS. This is my 200th post
Here here buddy. Install and soft reset
Cool. it seems to work pretty happily. Does anybody know WHY this is happening? It seems kind of sad that such upscale hardware/software has this kind of problem
it allways had soemthing to do with touchflo.
all roms with cube didn´t have this problem till now.
only when cube was deleted.
btw - the cab creates an icon in \start\settings\ = touchflosettings - this icon opens a "half" picture... and does nothing....
just to prevent questions...
interesting. very interesting.
Strange though. I only got this error with touch-it roms. I didn't experience it with open touch or cleanrom

yes - but as far as i see pdaviet doesn´t have cube.....
Problem started happening on my stock t-mobile ROM after I installed ASerg's scrolling, so, yea, seems like it has something to do with touchflo.

Prolem with Manilla themed roms, is there a fix?

Okay, so I've noticed that with every cooked rom that uses the Manilla type eventually the roms all start locking up when you try to go to your email. Is it just me? Is there a fix other than having to keep "reflashing" the rom and re-installing what ever apps you had over and over again?
So I assume no one who's viewed this has had this problem?
yeah mine is doing it when I go to compose a text message I am about to reflash now

I'm still trying out PDAViet's WM 6.1 manila rom, and also thany25's WM 6.1 manila Rom, so I don't have enough usage yet to corroborate this behavior.
Please clarify though: "all start locking up" -- do you mean they freeze up and only remedy is to soft-reset, or do you mean they go sluggish but you could still close another app or 2 in background and then it works okay, as long as not email?
A minor-related question for you: I may be just imagining things, but when I use thany25's ROM, once I am running several apps, the TouchFlo2D feels sluggish, and doesn't have traction with my finger first "swipe" across.. and I have to lift my finger and then try again, at which time it usually does operate.
But I did not recall this happening on PDAviet's (Microlab's WM 6.1). DO you have any kind of experience like this? thanks

new to WM 6.1 and having issues

ok so Im a noob when it comes to the HTC tilt. i bought it about a week ago and since then i have upgraded to WM 6.1 and installed the Kaiser Tweak, Black Theme, Opera Mobile 10 beta and Mobium GPS software. The phone seems kind of laggy, when i go to "wake it up" it will occasionally flash then immediately go "back to sleep". I also noticed today that when i slide the keyboard out to txt message, the word completion window pops up with nothing in it and if i hit the menu tab there are just hyphens in it, no actual words i.e. delete, forward,insert......so on. I need help. i flashed the WM 6.1 last night and didnt have these problems till about an hour or so ago....with the exception of the lag.
Welcom to the WM 6.1 'upgrade'
Although I've never had a Tilt (mines just the HTC version of a TyTN II), some of the issues you describe were problems I'd found with the default HTC 6.1 upgrade. Sometimes what people expect to be an improvement because it's newer, isn't necessarily better. If you want to go back to how it was, read up the Wiki here at xda-dev which will tell you how you can flash back to the original WM 6.0 setup (or perhaps you may prefer the slightly newer but still WM 6.0, 1.62 series ROM referred to here ).
ok....well ive been browsing and ive seen ALOT of these "cooked" roms. what r these exactly and has anyone had luck with a specific one. i know that everyone has their preference but again...im new. I dig the black theme and the threaded SMS is a must have. i also like the kaiser tweak....does any one have a file for threaded SMS if i decide to go back to 6.0
Maybe something about it in the wiki

No, no-one has ever had any luck with a cooked (or customised) ROM... But seriously if you want to know which is best it will depend what you want it to do and even then asking which is best is frowned upon here at xda-dev (because it can cause flame wars so it's a no-no). What most people do is try them and see. I've tried a few and always ended up going back to stock to get fast GPS. Have a search for threaded SMS - I don't recall if that's possible under WM 6.0 but maybe there's a cab around. Have a good read in the wiki section as well -there's lots of usefull info in there. I hardly ever use sms so what I have is good enough for my needs.
Check out Solace v3.1,
looks pretty spiffy if you ask me. Finger-friendly as well.

Well I'm not sure if you have tried that or not but, did you check your memory?? like is you mobile memory or even your memory card full or kind of full?? that really makes the mobile sooooooo slow and boring specially if you have an 8GB almost full memory card. One more thing, it's better if you close the word completion option as i had a problem before that the mobile had saved too many entries that it reached a limit were each time i try to write a msg it just freezes the whole mobile and that problem wasn't solved except when i stopped the word completion

for the bold part in the quote above, disable cleartype in landscape...the functionality is broken in most combinations of video drivers with WM6.1 on the kaiser.

My 2 cents to the perfect ROM

[Warning, theres alot to read ]
Hi All,
Just want to say a big thanks to all the great developers out there such as Dutty, Miri, topix, energyrom, xannytech.. etc.
Without you guys I think I would have sold my HD a long time ago.
I think I have flashed my Hd almost every day or two, since I had my hands on it. As there has always been a bug or two in every rom.
I have been a long time fan of Dutty's rom. But now that its stopped at the holy grail r0, the builds have been updated. Its great to have used his roms, but its still not perfect. So recently I've started looking again at other cookers.
I've been using WM 6.5 for a long time and I don't think that will change. But recently I have tried every combination wm6.1/m2.1, wm6.5/m2.1 wm6.5/m2.5 of different cookers, and tested. To see whether I have been missing out on anything.
I've finally come to a conclusion that wm6.5/m2.1 was the most stable and smoothest rom around. That brings me to Miri's roms. I've tried the wm6.5/2.5 v18 and wm6.5/m2.1 v35.
Miri's Wm6.5/2.5 v18 was great, but like every m2.5, it is still abit slow. and since I dont like the new HTC messenger, I would lose out on the mms. Well I dont really miss mms that much, but I've been without it for 6month+. And if I try to install Opera 10 on it, my pop up menu's were all screwed up and its one of those things I couldn't accept.
So lastly I went and tried Miri's wm6.5/m2.1 v35. And I must say, I think this is the one. There are a few bugs there, but I will post the links down to fix them.
First is the Miri's Rom: //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493911
Before flashing Miri's rom there are a few things I would like to note
1. lockscreen delay that you would most likely want to fix by adding a file into your storage card.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=587931
2. Pagepool changer to make the rom amazing I've tried countless sizes, but I've come to a conclusion that setting my pagepool number to 0 was the most effective.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323269
Now you can flash the rom
After installing, you would notice on the settings tab that the line is missing between communications and customise tabs. And the line between g-sensor would flicker when you scroll down to it.
This is the list of things I would install:
1. Autolock - install csdevctrl.6.5.cab and play with the settings to your liking.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386451
2. Chinese support - Just a unicode to read asian languages,
link here //rapidshare.com/files/135293786/uhei00m-gray.cab.html
3. 2d/3d driver by Neos2007 - make wonders for games on HD and also seems to fix the line problems on the settings tab.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496528
4. Gfxboost by Chainfire - This is abit complicated, it doesn't boost the graphics, it's more like it smoothens the display. So its more pleasant..
read more here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509704
5. Opera 10 beta - This is sooo much better than any other browsers. When you load a webpage, it used to show those annoying blocks that hasn't loaded. Not anymore! anyways no harm to test right? Just flash hasn't been implemented into it yet. But i dont mind..
download here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486502
6. HD Tweak - Im sure most ppl know this one. I just use this to change the left and right keys on the home screen. And turn off the sms sent notification. Thats about it
Just a note, although there is autolock function in HD tweak, it doesnt work that well. As soon as the backlight goes off, it doesnt come back on till you push the power button and back again.
link here //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=452505
Lastly: Im not a fan of the HTC task manager. So I normally turn it off by disabling the quick menu on today screen tick box. And just shortcut in programs tab to MS task manager.
Thats all I had to share
Hope you find your rom that works for you. This one just happens to work perfectly for me..
I use KWBR's rom.
I didn't choose Miri's as the log is not clear.
Energy rom is also quite impressive I would say.
Could you elaborate the better side of the Miri rom from your view?

if PP is set to 0, most probably the OS will adjust according to usage...
actually now i'm looking for stable WM6.5.x with manila/Sense 2.1 (as close to stock as possible, something like wajk's blackSTONEhenge), but most of recent ROM comes with Manila/Sense 2.5, which is a bit tough on the HD...not to mention lock-ups problem, even those who has flashed custom ROMs in HD2 is having some problems...when that time comes, i'm more than happy to stick with kwbr's topix 3.2.5 (might flash to the latest version as it comes with EzInput 2.1, which i like a lot)...

and I was looking forward to a ROM where footprint works ....

Thanks a lot, Dutty.
We miss you so much, Dutty. Welcome back.
I installed the Touch-It HTC volume cab and that works pretty well on this rom. It maps to the hardware buttons. The font is a bit ugly, but it works
edit: here is the cab
Anyone have screenshot's from this rom?
I've Fixed the problem by installing gfreek's Taskbar:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520547
still we need to fix touch release delay manually but it is not a big deal
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Touch\Filter]
"MinimumTapTime"=dword:00000000
thanks Dutty for the ROM
please dont forget us
Good ROM
I flashed to it last night from PhamQuangs V90. Solid ROM but a few niggles. There is no icon for phone or contacts. I like that he mapped All People to one of the soft buttons. For the most part, a fast and smooth operating ROM. Plus, My Location and Facebook integration seems to work too. Overall, a good ROM. It looked up in the middle of the night, but a soft reset fixed that. I am concerned about battery drain, but have used the HD Tweak to maximize setttings. Might hard reset one more time, just for kicks.
Pics
It looks like another other WinMo 6.5 2.5 Sense ROM. It does not have the Book Reader tab or some of the latest features. It also doesnt come with a task bar. I used Brian's Task Bar which works good.
Don't think this is Duttys ROM (I wish tho)

It is Dutty's rom. He doesn't post on XDA no more so someone obviously posted this as a favor to people here.. It was released (from his username) on HTCPedia. See Post#7 for the link to Duttys Post on HTCP.
hope is not always stupid
I stand corrected
Duttys welcome back again
testing now....
Another mirror for the ROM.

I flashed this rom & it's very stable though some glitches like the missing icon for the end-key in the settings/system
also the home button is not working as well as the volume buttons...i read in htcpedia that Dutty has no HD to test that release so he asked for Falshing & reporting about possible bugs.
screen rotation won`t work for me album and music
