Use this guide. Works for both Windows 7, Vista, XP etc. You may need to downgrade your drivers. Link within thread for updating drivers. Any further queries on flashing should be posted in dummies guide thread.

Windows 7 Upgrade Versus Clean Install

Hi. I have read the many threads about the various methods of installing windows 7 on shift. However all these are about making a clean install of 7. My question issue is what are the pros and cons between UPGRADE from vista to Windows 7 as opposed to making a clean install. I know probably it is not possible to upgrade with 7 RC but I do have a retail 7 Pro that I wish to install. I hope to upgrade so that I can keep all the settings, possibly dont have to re-install the drivers as well as the programmes that I already have.
Any advice on this. Thanking you in advance - Ed

Hi,
Before you go on to delving about making a Custom Rom for yourself. Try to learn first Linux and familiarize yourself with Java,Javascript, C++, OpenGL in the android SDK.
I saw a video once on a tutorial on "How to build a Custom Rom on android' (credits to the maker of the video) - >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_H4AlQaNa0
See if that will help you start something on...
Good luck!

Hmmm...I'm not sure on WIndows XP though but Win7 sure makes a difference.. Note that your going to compile things and it would be a great benefit if your platform has greater supportability already.
Anyway, I scoured XDA and found a link to a Complete Guide on Making an Android Rom (Courtesy of Nero Young).
Learn the basics and what is the most essential part to it.

Regarding Windows 8.1, I have seen numerous posts that Windows 8.1 doesn't play nice with our device. You might want to use a Windows 7 or xp machine.

Windows RT on Lumia tool

Ok hi guys. So, on a video about installing windows rt on lumia, (7) [TUTORIAL] How To Install WINDOWS RT On Lumia 2019 - YouTube , this guy is using a tool which seems to be the WinRTInstaller made by cdsmatheus, except modded by this guy Fadil Fadz. His version seems to be a bit easier to approach than the one made by Matheus, however download links are removed. Does anybody know where we can still download his tool or perhaps does anybody still have it?
