[Sug] Media Player - G1 Apps and Games

I just think it might be a neat little retro type thing a lot of people could appreciate having on there phones.
A new media player app that shows as an old school cassette tape winding with the song.

For those of you who might have forgotten what they look like
I just think it would be neat, no fancy buttons like stop play ff etc etc just pick the song and the tape plays it through.
Course when pressing the back or home button the app should auto stop.

Either everyone hates this idea, or there's a gold rush to go develop this app I'm not sure which way to think with 190+ views haha.

It's not that the idea is hated, it's just that functionality is more important. I would definitely download something like that though. Retro rocks.

Funny idea. I think it would work best as a widget running along side the music app.

That's understandable, I wouldn't really want the look of it to be bogged down with controls, but I'm more draw to the fact that the g1's screen is about the size of a cassette tape and I think it would be very neat to select a song and have it be played like that.
Maybe a function that would mean pressing the menu button would show controls.
And lol the Htc Hero has encouraged the growth of widgets tremendously.

I'd like to see the band name and song written on the tape like we used to label our mix tapes back in the day. Handwritten and scribbled on.

Unknown Device

hi
I found these pictures on other forum, and this device intrigued me(original poster doesn't know what's this)
...he wrote that in instruction nothing is written...except 'PDA with Digital Camera'.
maybe YOU know what this is

DonĀ“t have a clue...but design is so bad
May be a chinese model or something, or just a toy!?
looking at the screen i think its like one of those old brick games(thats what we call it dont know any other term)
This is really a PDA
Contacts, calendar, alarm buttons? this is really a PDA the very bones of a pda, maybe the keyboard is for entry the contacts name or type in the calculator.
I like chinese devices. Cheap, they break easily, ugly, not functioning most of the time. It is nice to buy one of them once in a while.
it does look more like a calculator
Isn't that the new Gameboy Sp phone ?
looks like an atlas
whatever that is...looks like a new version of the gameboy DS
The screen hinge would have to be indestructable.
Imported knock off
This looks like an imported knock off of one of the first Palm Pilot prototypes from 1996 designed by US Robotics and manufactured in China as a prototype that never was introduced by US Robotics "PALM corp."
looks really really bad quality, so its definatly not Nintendo lol
its just a crap cheap knock off.

Working on Custom Icons/ LP Docks

I've started fooling around with photoshop and started making custom icons and launcher pro docks. Here's a sample of some of the stuff I've made, I just wanted to get some opinions on these (kind of new at this) as I continue working on stuff and post them. Thanks!
1.Phandroid. 2.DolphinHD. 3. Appbrain. 4. Angry Birds. 5. VoiceSearch/Vlingo start listening action. 6. SkyMaps 7. Camera

I put them on my screen using desktop visualizer (1x1 for the icons 2x1 for voice actions) since just replacing shortcut image makes it look too small (on my screen at least).
+Here's a bonus lp dock (I'll probably be making one to match the icons sometime):
So yeah, any thoughts/critiques on what I've made would be appreciated .
EDIT:
Here's that matching dock
That dock is hot but I am not a fan of the box icons

Thanks for the feedback.
I'll continue to play around with photoshop and see what else I can come up with. Is there something specific about the box icons you don't like (i.e. shape, size, color, etc...) or is it just not your thing? (I decided to make the background around the icon since I was having trouble finding properly sized icon pics to work with -just copied from appbrain) I want to get an idea of what people want and don't want to see.
Thanks!
Just looking for something different than the iphone looking icons. Just not my bag of tea. The icons do look nice though. I really like the color scheme also.

[App] Zero to Hero - Brand New App

Hi,
I developed a brand new app called "Zero to Hero".
The app let's you explore your yet unplayed music, those of your songs that you haven't yet ever played on your phone.
The key point: It's developed entirely using TouchDevelop, Microsoft's on device programming environment. Means it is developed right on Windows Phone itself.

thank you
The app just hit the marketplace:

Love this app, Best to discover the forgotten songs. We have it reviewed at wpxbox.com and also have couple of suggestions.
First is wrapping up of names of song which becomes messy when its too long. Second, once I play a song, does it get off the list ? I don't see that happening until I refresh

Thank you very much for the review,
regarding the issues, I'll look into them for the next update though I'm not sure whether it's exactly possible to fix all of them due to limitations of the TouchDevelop programing enviroment.

[Mockup] Tasker Holo Redesign

One of my favourite apps is Tasker which allows me to automate parts of my phone. For instance, I get in the car, it turns on GPS, Bluetooth and it starts up my SatNav software. You can find it here.
From the day I had the app, the one glaring problem with it was the UI. It's stuck back in Gingerbread times and a lot has changed since then.
I recently saw a shared post on Google+ from Roman Nurik which showed various mockups of Android apps with a new UI. This made me realise Tasker seriously needs an update and I know exactly how it should look using the Holo design whilst retaining the original layout.
So here it is, my Tasker redesign. I'll be honest, I pictured what this looked like in my head, so I sat down, opened Photoshop and 40 minutes later I had designed something I thought worked great. It's the very first design so could probably do with some community input and refining. Let me know your thoughts.
Original post was from my Google+ Page, however figured I would share it with you here as well as I appreciate not everyone is on Google+

would be awesome! tasker is the best android app ever, but it looks like crap. well, the focus of the app is clearly getting stuff done, but a little bit for the eye wouldnt hurt

Like videogames? Like Music? Like both? Listen to this then.

Hey people,
Besides XDA, I'm also active as a (videogame re)mixer. I've made a few tracks and am trying to get a bit of views on my pages. So, here's a shameless plug for my stuff. I'm not earning anything from it. I'm doing it all for fun and recognition. Hope someone likes it.
My YT channel
My Soundcloud page
Oh, and if there's someone here that can do video montage and stuff, and is willing to help me out a little, please let me know. My YT video's are a bit... static?
I guess noone likes it then?

I used to love the C&C games... before EA raped them.
I'm at work at the minute, but I'll have a listen when I get home tonight. I've been into gaming for a LONG time, and have been a synth player for as long as I can remember, so I too have a love for computer game music and stuff that sounds like it.

Thank you.
