FFFFFIIIXXXXXEEEEEDDD THANK U GUYS!
Hi guys.. sorry to bother you. Im in a world of grief right now.
I am stuck at the modified load menu (green text on black background) with all the options to wipe or format ect...
at bottom it says "welcome build : RA-dream-v1.2.3
I have been stuck on this for hours, I was following theunlockr.com tutorial while using the newest cyanogenmod rom... it doesnt load.. im stuck back at this junk.. and I have no idea how to forfeit or go on from here.
please help
What you have right there (in the youtube vid)is the modified recovery console. What you need to do is load a rom onto your sd card and flash it.
You may have a rom already installed and just need to wipe (not sure though)
Try this from that screen:
1. Alt+W (wipe)
2. Reboot
If that doesnt work, then you need to load a rom and flash it. If you are trying to get cyans latest rom then you need to flash the HTC image first then flash the cyan image
lol Am I missing something? There are no links on the dev.htc website for the 1.6 Recovery Image....can you confirm this? About to go insane.
Thank you for the reply btw!
Yeah I can confirm no downloads on the site! I need that file to get my phone functioning!

&
Here's the link to Cyanogen's Wiki skip down to the "File Download" Section and continue on from there

Check out the next page though, no links. It says that that table is full of links but they aren't.
**Sorry! Don't know how i missed your link!**
You don't happen to know of a link for the 'img' one do you? I'm on rogers meaning flashing that zip will brick my phone!

If you're using the recovery screen to "apply update" from the menu use
signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-ota-14721.zip
the file that has "img" instead of "ota" in it has an image to use with fastboot not through recovery
Start over
I had the same problem for a second. I just started over. I recommend using this link: http://androidandme.com/2009/08/news/how-to-root-a-t-mobile-g1-and-mytouch-3g-android-phone/
It is very informative and all links for the roms work! Start over with the first dreaming.img and go from there. Good luck.
Success
Okay, all I did was
wipe
Load/Flash the 'OTA' "signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-ota-14721.zip"
wipe
Load/Flash the 4.2.7 cyamod!!!
love u helpy helpers (wow easy it was)
thank you so much

yes i have unlocked and rooted my nexus one already and i have flashed the amon ra,s recovery image.
what rom should i install? because nothing is working. i tried the alpha 21 rom and cayanogen rom and the official nexus one rom. they did not work.
how are you installing them? did you check the md5 check sum to make sure the file isn't corrupt? are you unzipping or just placing the zip file directly into the root of your SD?
anyway, since you are having trouble doing it, i would recommend you download and install the app, RomManager from the market; this app will download and then install it for you
otherwise, i would just download the zip files (ROM) again and try it

i am not unzipping well one rom worked "nexdesire" and now i dont even have the market app so i cant get the Rom manager . and how do you check the md5 file?
to check md5 sum (which is provided by all the roms you download, they are usually right next to the download links), download and install this: HashTab
To check, you just need to right click on the file > properties > one of the tabs should say File Hashes and you just copy/paste the MD5 you got for the rom into the space provided and click compare; it they match, the file should be fine
whatcha developing??? lmfao

I tried update.zip for 'ClockworkMod' and it gave the same error.

You need to flash a kernel with clockwork mod recovery such as :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756
Flash with Odin and put the kernel in the PDA section. Once flashed you will have clockwork mod recovery. The reason you can't apply roms is because you have Recovery 3e which won't apply unsigned .zips.
When booted into clockwork mod just select apply .zip from sd card and choose the ROM you want to install and then reboot.
Simple really
I sure hope you have checked first if your 3-button combo works. Otherwise you soon will be figuring out how to unbrick your Galaxy....

Please check that you can get into download mode before doing anything!

Cheers for the answer, Ill try that now
Hey,
I am trying to fix a friends optimus black. He has CWM recovery installed but when I flash ROMs then reboot system, it just boots straight back to the recovery. Is there anything I am doing wrong? I have tried 3 different ROMs from the dev section, ICS, GB and JB. I make sure to do a full wipe between flashing.
Many thanks, as I don't have much experience with this phone. (Although I have many years experience with flashing android roms)

Reflash with Smart Flash Tool. A few kernels automatically go to recovery if they fail to load. I can't think of anything else.
Try changing your CWM Recovery by flashing another version. Use my CWM Recovery flasher (in my signature).

What do you need? Some ROMs to flash? Find links to kdz files in post 3. Extract and root it yourself (also see post 3 on my how to).
might be redundant saying this but in cwm itself have you flashed the 6.0.1.4 update within itself ald?

Yup for VJ's CM 10.1, you will need to resize the HBOOT from 145/90 ( which is your default) to 260/10. You will need a tool called BlackRose to do this.
Detailed step by step information present here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804571
is messing with the partition necessary for the Sprint HTC One? Sorry just don't want to get all into this solution if it won't work for me like everything else. Thanks
Hi, I read lots of posts here in xda on how to install custom ROM on my HTC Salsa, lot of times i felt bad as the posts always required my phone to be S-OFF. I couldn't find a nice and easy solution for this.
However somewhere i read that it is not mandatory to have S-OFF and which is when i just started experimenting on my phone.
I did unlock the bootloader from HTC dev . But i still have S-on.
I downloaded some *i9500 custom ROM and copied it to my downloads folder in sdcard. Tried to install the zip from sdcard from my CWM Recovery and it failed always. But then i thought that it could be the problem with image which i downloaded as it is not supported. So then i found one more post for HTC Salsa and downloaded the image from the link given in there.
Here is the link of that post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2745185
Here is the link from where i downloaded the zip : http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/icong/
Here is the image which i downladed : cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY-icong.zip
After getting into CWM Recovery i tried to install the same and at first it looked that it is going to install but in some time i get some error like
set_metadata_recursive.... error STATUS 7. INSTALLATION ABORTED.
Then i thought i was doing to wrong and as per some post .. i formatted all the /boot /system /sdcard ....partitions listed in CWM.
Now my sdcard is completely formatted .
After i copy my image there and try to install the same :
I get :
--Installing: /sdcard/cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY-icong.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
E: Error in .sdcard/cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY-icong.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.
I can't even reboot to my old ROM. .. Not sure if its lost completely. .. Need help urgently.
Please help me recover or reinstall any ROM just for my phone to come back to life again.
Please help

If your using the new icong_g CM11 then you require the installation of the new cwm 6 recovery. if you follow the guides correctly then you won't have any issues.
can i ask why you thought about trying a different model phones software on this? it would only cause some serious issues lol.
and to answer the question when u wipe and clean of any data then it will leave the original OS in place unless you flash another then its that one that replaces it

Actually when i tried to install the icong_g CM11 i think it tried to flash but the installation aborted with error 7 as i mentioned earlier and so my old ROM was washed away i guess.
Somewhere i again read i need CWM 5.0.3 and so i tried that as well. Still getting the error.
Where can i find CWM recovery 6 for HTC Salsa.?
What are the mount/unmount options should i follow. Like /system, /data. Should they be mounted or unmounted before installing the zip.
Please help me solve the problem.
Why i am failing to install the cm-11*icong all the time with error 0. Do i really need to upgrade my CWM recovery from 5.0.3 to 6 ?
Also please help he flash my phone with manual steps.
I am using Fedora 20 for using fastboot and adb.
