I tried it back in the day when was first posted for Excalibur and didn't see any noticeable improvement especially as it's only a simple reg edit regards async..
The best way to save battery is to find the appropriate Radio for ROM, use a ROM that isn't hungry on battery and an extended battery helps

Thank you for the info.
A quick remark about WMLongLife: I had to uninstall it as my Kaiser never reconnected to 3G after some time working properly. It seems a reported bug and will be solved in new releases (at least, I hope so ). I'd say that roaming triggered that condition, but have no concluding evidence.

This phone is driving me nuts

This phone is making me like...crazy!
and this is why:
I synct some playlists to the phone with windows media player 10, suddenly all playlists on my diamond are empty.
When i removed all the playlists on windows media player 10 to sync them again, it deleted all my songs!
now i got all my songs onto the device again, and wanted to alter 1 playlist, it took windows media player 6 minutes, to just alter, replace, 1 pooping playlist!\
Its not possible to remove a playlist created in the touchflo music player itself.
Not able to select it and then delete it.
Half of the icons in the games folder are ****ed up, we already have a thread with solutions(i tried all of them), but none of them worked.
And the performance, even with the tlr rom or whatever the name was, the diamond still goes slow!
And the battery depletes quickly, with auto attach off, and incoming beam off.
Cant receive a file with bluetooth, with incoming beam on or off, it keeps saying my pc is a new device and asks if i want to set a password, no matter if i set a password or not, it goes back to the menu, and still says my pc is a new device
And i used a mod of the diamond tweaks thread, to auto lock my diamond when the screen goed off.
Well, 1/5 times, it autounlocks itself when i turn the screen back on. not good...
And finally, the opera browser is sometimes not doing what i want. sometimes goes to a random place on the page, if i move and let the stylus go, it moves back to that random page, to fix this i need to quit, then restart opera.
This happens about 1/5 times i use opera.
Is this where i payed 481 euro's for...?
Any ideas how to fix this sh!t is welcome, i already did a hard reset to try getting rid of some problems.

what do you mean?
theres a whole list of bad things there.
btw: forgot to mention that the diamond stylus made some nasty scratches on the screen when wiping over the screen in opera to scroll page, or goto next photo in touchflo, ect.
Got a protector included for that.
Install a fresh rom, I don't have any of your problems.
I use bluetooth a lot:
Sending files (goes hell fast), don't want to use cable when using .cab files here
For my parrot
For use as a modem (have reached 120kbyte/second) when online with phone!
All flawless.
I have very very good results with HTC's own new rom update via e-club.
TLR nr. 2 was quite buggy at my phone.
GOod luck!

what have you got now may i ask?
Humbly returned to my previous P535.
I must admit that apart from Diamond, there is currently not many devices to choose from on the market... Was thinking about getting P750, but still unsure...
Xperia scares me, mainly because of the unusual screen resolution (dunno how all the apps will handle it) and that also is supposed to be made by HTC...
Maybe Diamond Pro will not suffer from these newborn diseases that my Diamond had - will see...
i think im going for the iphone 3g. will be expensive though...
the touch diamond really disappoints me...

Use the hardware buttons beneath the screen. You can navigate to the playlist you want to delete, and hold the 'enter' button to get the menu to get the 'right mouse button menu'.
Using your fingers it is impossible as it automatically selects the playlist if you press it. No menu will pop up.

What do you mean? It will be much cheaper than the Diamond.
I wonder if you're expecting to install applications on that phone, or do any customization...
Mwahahahahahha!!!!
Another Winer! XD
I'd give this post 5/5 for creativity, 6/5 for whining and -1 for usefullness ^^
you can almost FEEEL that you joined only after buying the phone, and I'd guess that it's your first WM one..
Anyway, regarding your problems..
If your phone really is that bad, it's probably broken (pre-production, grey, some dimwit dropped it in the shop or any other reason). In any case, return it by warranty, and get a new one..
Having so many people love this phone, and being able to fix the issues.. and only you and a handful of others run around whining.. Surely it's obvious that it's either a lack of hands.dll or a simple hardware failure..
I mean you should be smart enough to grasp it.... ermm.. right?
Cheers
P.S. Oh, and please don't be offended by this post.. It was mainly inspired by your post anyway, but it was written half-jokingly as I couldn't really answer seriously to that amount of QQ
@ 205_laCoste...
You're my hero.
Had a lot of trouble removing two playlists, but using the hardware buttons solved it right away....
Thank You!
I'm ready to throw my diamond out the window, for pretty much the same reasons. I paid way too much money to have so many problems. And I shouldn't have to flash a new rom. It should be good to go out of the box.
Before I'm also accused of being a whiner, there is a plethora of posts of people having the same problems....with no solutions. The bluetooth issue is a biggie. I tweak my phone to enhance it, but I shouldn't have to be a programmer to simply make it function properly. To suggest that is just arrogant.
There are things that I absolutely love about this phone, but simply as a phone it sucks.
most of the time it is not the fault of the phone but the person
using it.
a lot of people have come here after having a normal phone and
dont understand how to use this one.
treat it more like a computer than a phone.you dont have to be
a programer you just have to know how to read a thread and
follow the directions.
if you have a 1.37 rom you need to upgrade it to a 1.93.
1.37 is crap.okay it shouldnt have been but it was that why
it was upgraded to 1.93.
if you still dont get it then sell the phone.go buy a fruit
phone and get ripped off just like all the other sheep out there.
I have to stand up for nursie here. I've returned my diamond several months ago (yeah, it was driving me nuts) and am happily living with my P750... these offenses are absolutely not necessary and untrue as well as uncritically extolling the device - gee, it's just another PDA

I have to agree, to an extent.
It's generally accepted on here that the Diamond is badly configured out of the box, which is why new users are recommended to flash a new ROM. This is not a good thing, although it's great we have such a good community of chefs to help solve the problem.
What's less well accepted is that much of the HTC software on the Diamond is slow and awkward. I'm talking about TF3D and the HTC dialer in particular, get rid of them and you can make the Diamond a great little phone just like your P750.

I upgraded to 1.93. And I'm quite proficient at reading and researching. I'm also very proficient with current technology. I get it. What you don't get is that a consumer spending big bucks on this phone shouldn't have to resort to advanced tweaks (which I understand, BTW...you won't find me here asking newbie questions) in order to bring the phone up to basic performing standards.
Again.....yours is a fine example of ignorance masking itself as arrogance.

1% battery increments

I searched the xperia forum and I am not able to find information about this issue.
I would like to help making a new battery.dll.
I am trying to contact CRCinAU who did this successfuly for trinity so he can spread some light.
Has any of you already tried battery.dll from blackstone on his xperia?
Or has anyone made any steps towards a working solution?
Thanks
From what I've read, the X1 battery controller supports no other than 10% increments. If the hardware is not able to tell the software what the % is, nothing can help you.
yes but that's what everyone believed for the tytn, trinity and I think hermes as well! Could you show me where you read this?

You are correct, Also back in the days. TyTN II only -10% and now every rom has -1%.
well it seems no one is interested.
CRCinAU has not replied to my message either.
The solution is probably identical to the other devices that had this issue so it's just a matter to get some hints (where to look inside battery.dll).
I can hardly believe it, but if you do make a find, don't hesitate to post it.
here the same if you can find an solution then i also would welcome when you post it here
I tested one of thse power drivers (its a dll in the end) and didnt work... It would have to be adapted for the xperia
...and it has to be cooked-in as far as I remember form the TyTn roms.
to cook it inside isnt an problem at all, but to get an working dll or whatever is needed is the problem
I can send you the power driver "as is"
PM me
yes do so, then i will make some tests with it and cook some roms, i think if we really find an solution then all cookers will use it.
Regards,
cHarOn
Well yeah, if you'd be able to get this working, it'd be a huge breakthrough.
Alas I don't have time to take this on as yet another project.
the question is, is it really only an driver limitation, or is it really an hardware limitation, maybe i should look into the Hermes Threads a little bit?
also it would be interessting if we could find an other WM Phone with same hardware and maybe this dll should work then hehee
The most similar device is the touch HD, which has a different battery controller (1% increments already work there).
I think looking into the hermes threads will teach you a lot. Where to look, for instance?
Here it is guys:
User "nue" has a very ineteresting collection of very useful apps
He has managed to modify the power driver to allow 1% increments for Vogue and TyTn, but I also read working reports in a Diamond thread: They combined sdkcert + tsownes battery icons (has the full 0->100% icons) + nuePower driver and succeeded
Here's the link to nue's download site:
http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/page/nuePower.aspx
PS: take a look at battery.dll
I was searching for the same thing, 1% increments, and came across someone on XDA froums who had changed the icons for battery, signal etc and also included 1% increments for battery. I installed them a couple of days ago and they worked fine. The only reason I removed it was because I was I need the time and battery up there and couldn't find a solution other than SBP which replaces adds an extra battery while windows replaces the original battery with the time.
which one did you use??????

The cab is called FInixNOverBattery
I have just reinstalled it, and it's showing 70% battery. To be honest, on further investigation, I'm not sure if it is actually showing 1% increments on the X1. I'll leave it running a while to see, but I have a feeling it's just showing 10% increments.
Sorry guys, this could be a false alarm.
oh no this doesnt change the battery.dll it is only an battery icon skin in 10% steps, ok have to search more and play around with the touch-hd battery.dll.

What is the best ROM?

I know... it's only an experimental roms... but... I tested some and every time there is abug... Camera don't works or some times freeze, or some times no sound... or bluetooth not work properly...
Is there a WM6 rom for Hyma that works with no bugs?
Thx,
M.
u can try WM6.5 build 21189 by Sun Dream..
My best rom
I've try almost all the rom (not yet try sun_dream roms), but I think the best is ather's rom Dark Edition ROM more fast more reliable on GPRS.
That's what I thought...
I'm voting for sundream's ROM. Stable and fast. Only problem I've heard about it is syncing with server but since I don't need to do that this ROM is two thumbs up.
u can try tofclock 6.1...stable n fast..
Go for Efsane's WM6.5 Build 21500
Its really awesome. Clean, fast and stable i personally liked it alot greatly cooked
its not yet released in WWE
I am talking about Build 21500WWE Test version not 21501CHS

Of cause it is WEE! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=510805
It has no camera function and some little issues, like keylock is not displayed correct.
Well, I think, such a thread is disgusting.
We live in the second century, everyone has got his own opinion and can like, what he wants!
There are guys out there who love men! (Ui, IiH, Ohoh,)
Everyone should make up his mind himself, because it belongs, on what he expects!!
Flashing is as safe and fast as changing your underwear! OK, in most cases it should take a little more time.
With the help of a little app, you can im-/export your personal data, without the risk of loosing one single bit.
Even between three different Windows Mobile!!
Test the rom, find issues and workarounds, find programs to improve it or make it more comfortable.
Incidentally you will be 'learning' a lot 'by doing' this. One of the oldest principals of getting a higher level of skills.
And someday, just by chance, you will make up your mind, because one of the rom 'fits' you.
Even if it is not the newest build. There are people who switched back to WM2k3, because they need STK, the CF-slot of their backpack or the possibility of using their hima to hear music, while the device is placed in a free speaking unit, via the car hifi speaker.
( to ather90: This is a new issue of WM5 and WM6.X Rolf-Dieter found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=510675.
As we found out, it is a problem of drivers, maybe with the with the possibility of a hardware solution.)
The last level you could reach is, when you cook your first running self-made rom, even, if you only changed one registry key for 0 to 1.
Then the hima-universe is yours, because you can change it, and you can make it a better place for everyone.
This is, when you ask yourself: What scared me, as I first flashed my device?
My tipp:
1. Download your original rom, so you can switch back every time you want to.
2. Think of what you want, expect or what sacrifices you can make.
3. Choose one of the new rom, you think, it could be the right one.
4. Collect all the information, You think, You need to flash, without damaging the device.
Ie. read the stickies about flashing and getting more memory.d
5. Start flashing and never, ever stop, till you see Congratulations.
This is almost the only way to change your device to a brick!!
Happy flashing, and god bless you!
PS.:This post is a little bit like a preaching, but this one way to spend confidence to others.
BTW, my dad's a priest. No joke!
muckelmaus is right, these types of posts shouldn't be opened as they nothing but trouble
If you wanna know whats the best ROM? try flashing it yourself or reading the user's replies

Problems with Battery

Hey.
I just got my new (used 6 months) Diamond, after my Trinity has crashed. But what i observed is that the battery life is extremely low. Is there any possibility to make it last longer. I have seen somwhere on a forum that the combination of SPL, Rom, and Radio might help, but i lost somewhere this thread, cannot find it anymore....
So please can you help me to solve that issue? The Trinity could go much longer when i was using GPS. I was thinking that Diamond should be better.
Plese help.
could you please help?
i ve seen response to threads like this:

Holy #@$*'ing @$*t ! Sorry your highness for making you wait all of one day to respond to a question that has been discussed ad nauseam throughout the entire internet.
Google is a good friend. Try typing in "Diamond battery life" into Google search and you'd be absolutely amazed as to what happens when you subsequently click on the search button! Let me show you: http://www.google.com/search?q=diam...-ca&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1
In a nut shell;
1. Diamond battery is very small @ 900mAh. Buy a bigger battery if you want
2. Don't leave bluetooth, wifi, and 3G on when you don't need it. All of them draw a lot of power
3. Turn off auto backlight adjustement and set it to a brightness that is comfortable for you to read.

HTC TyTN II Battery:

HTC TyTN II Battery: I hope not to be OT ..... I played with several ROMs, especially by the great chef AF.
Recently I brought my assitance Kaiser so I reported it to the original Radio ROM. Returning dall'asssitenza I left the original ROM, replacing only the radio 1.71.09.01 with Emo.
To the surprise performance of the original WM6.1 increased. I have doubts about battery life, that with normal use (a few phone calls and various connections) and the battery life of approximately 30 hours. On the duration seems normal.
Ovvimente return to more 'open to some excel ROM 6.5. Have good day
30 hours so a day + on 6.5 chillax it's pretty normal
b.t.w removed your double post
I also have a battery problem, my tytn2 lasts less then a day with normal use (calls, sms, mails, pdf reader, 3g connection). I was adviced by the chef AF to change my radio to 1.65.16.25 and i'm trying it out today: few calls, sms, 20min pdf reader, updated the weather and i took from the charger at 08:00 it's now 15:40 and still have 75% of my battery. If you are saying that radio 1.71.09.01 is even better i will try it out.
Question: How does the radio influences the rom besides sound and camera???
I have been looking for an explanation but still haven't found one. I really would like to know what it is and what it does to my device.

Thanks for the reply. Although it doesn't answer my question. I need my tytn to be reliable and it must last at least a day. I can't be testing every radio that is available risking myself to be without a phone when i need to be connectable at all time. Anyone can give me a feedback about the best (performance/durability) for my tytn. I use the rom from AF (sorry it's the "competition") and i find it very complete and reliable. The only thing that is bugging me is the battery life. I've read that the 1350mah (dynapac) isn't much of a long lasting thing but even though, less then a day???????? I had a touch before this and i sold it because of the battery life.

Well then the answer is to stay on stock with the matched radio as will have had previously, since time is what is needed just like what chefs put into cooking..
Didn't post about it's down to the user just because i like people to take time it's a must as no one will have exact the same credentials as you.
I get about 2-3 days out of my ROM, another thing you could look into is extended battery's
WOW up to 3 days with your rom, normal usage i presume??? A bit like i do???
We are talking about v5 right??? If that's the problem i will flash it and try it out for a few days........ Please advice.... rom and radio???

Read faq #4.....the radio isn't really a " radio " in the sense of the word. It is firmware.
I personally think that the mater the " firmware " version significantly affected battery life is still up for debate. But the proof is in the putting. So try different ones for yourself and let us know.
Thanks for your reply, how is the rom from stylez behaving?? I see you have radio 1.65.24.xxx but you're also in the U.S. I don't have the time to "try" other radios since the tytn2 is my main device and i need to be connectable at all time. Just this week i needed to make some calls and i got a odd response from my boss: or buy a new phone or get lost!!!!!! So i need my tytn2 to "behave " at least from 08:00 untill 22:00.
becosemsaida
Stylez' rom is great, hands down the best 6.1 out there. I use 1.65.xxxxx because that is the one that came with my stock AT$T rom so I have found no need to change it. Stylez is in UK and uses 1.70.19.09 and that works well for him.
If you don't have the time to test, find others from Portugal and see what they are using or look at people's signitures in Stylez' thread and see what other people are using
