I was wondering, is there a slight chance to see a PS1 emulator on the G1? i mean the PS1 had a 32-bit RISC processor clocked to 33.9MHz and 2MB of RAM, 1MB of Video RAM..
and the G1 has a 32-bit 512Mhz processor with 192MB of RAM, Do you think we will ever see a PS1 emulator on the G1?

Dude, don't be a douche. I could probably name a few reasons why this might not work (the screen would be way too small to begin with), but if you're going to try to make someone look stupid, at least provide some reasoning. Really, it's not an absolutely RIDICULOUS question.
Look up the mininum specs of an open source PSX emulator on a PC. Then come back and ask if this is a valid question. Not to mention us not having access to the full 3d graphics system.
No, out of reach for our phones.
We need Nintendo GB, GBC, DS, and or Sony PSP... But maybe I'm asking too much for that too. Ha ha ha.

So, if the OP doesn't know the answer to a question, he can post here as a way of "looking it up," and you can politely respond. Now, if he asked "Can the G1 run Windows 7 Ultimate?", I'd agree with your initial response. But when the guy asks if 2008/2009 software/hardware can run 1994 games, give him a break.

Not a chance. Emulation is the act of copying hardware functions in software.. it needs many, many times the processing power of the entire original system (not just the cpu or ram, but every component). PS2 emulators can still be choppy on even the beefiest of modern PCs, and that relic is over 9 years old now.
Even the snes and genesis emu's I've seen on the g1 are slow as a dead dog.. This will never happen.
btw.. please make your thread titles more descriptive of the topic. yes or no could be literally anything and it annoys people.

In a word: GREAT !
There's only one problem: if i choose the medium/small text (which gives me a page rendering close to a desktop browser), the menu bar and menus get very small -hard to hit with the stylus.

This forum is called "XDA-Developers" for a reason. It is dedicated to HTC devices, which at the time the forum was set up were only released under the XDA brand.
The two platforms are completely different, and share no common ground.
People may want their HTC device to look like an iPhone, but that doesn't mean the site is going to dedicate space and bandwidth to the iPhone it self.

As the mod has already stated, this is a HTC forum. Any discussion aside from that manufacture is going to be off topic. If you feel compelled to discus iPhoney, there are other venues to do so. I too think it is idiotic to request the mods to add a board here for iPhoney discussion.

You know you can enable those white "bubble windows" that pop up on receipt of new SMS messages etc. I'm *sure* years and years ago when I first used Window Mobile that calendar reminders popped up in similar bubbles.
How do I enable them? At the moment all I get is my alarm goes off, which just leaves an alarm icon in the top menu bar for me to click on, but I want the brief details to appear in a bubble - is there a reg setting for this?

Practically useless radio. Even out in the open, the reception is basically like "shortwave radio". Even with the strongest of channels, I can barely enjoy anything.

hi, morpheus.. thats an excellent question. i'd love to get the desire. but i read that its hardware is similar to hd2... and the hd2 has call quality problems. but a friend of mine said that the call quality is clear... so i dont know if i should get the desire.
also, i was looking the the htc inspire. i'd like to dual boot wp7 and android on it. i'd like to know if this is possible. but i'm also worried about the batt life on it.

I have a couple of friends with Desire HD. Don't know about the call quality, but the battery life sucks as hell..feels like it has a Nokia 1100 battery in it...Drains faster than a sandclock...
Otherwise its a fantastic device.,.

Would you settle for a Ford because the garage didn't have a Ferrari? That's the lamest excuse I've heard in a long time...
It's not Close mindedness, it's common sense. You want Android, get an Android phone. You want Dual Boot? Get a device capable of doing it.
Dual booting will become a reality for WP7 devices, it's only a matter of time. But creating Dozen's of threads on it isn't going to speed things up. If anything it'll slow it down.
My prediction is all of these WM6.5/Android threads will become redundant once Mango's released anyway, and people won't want to switch between OS's cos there'll be no point.

It is close mindedness, although I agree with the fact that if you wanted a Android he should have gotten an Android (I did, only reason I come to the HD7 forums is because my dad has one and I play with his). And replying to every thread with the same canned off topic response is no better, sure he should have searched but being pricks isn't going to make him search in the future, it might just drive a potential future dev away from XDA.
My prediction is all of these WM6.5/Android threads will become redundant once Mango's released anyway, and people won't want to switch between OS's cos there'll be no point.

I've been hearing good things about Mango and I think that WP7 will become a real competitor to iOS/Android once it comes out, until then however it is another story.
Who wouldn't want a device that can dualboot. It also preserves the life of the device in a sell/trade aspect.

I've seen exactly the same thing. The 1230 capacity battery on the Desire HD is way too small for a phone with 1ghz processor and the big screen.
The HD7 has the same specs of course, but because WP7 doesn't allow multitasking and background jobs the battery life isn't so much of an issue.

Personal opinion. WP7 is my favorite OS out there. I'll admit it has it's limitations, but for me there is no competition. It does what a smartphone should do better than any other device out there.
