Hi, I have the NBA League Pass Application on my G1, but becasue i live in Canada, all the games are blacked out for me (games are restricted to US- viewrs only). So i was wondering if there is a way to 'trick' the app into thinking im in the US? Tried using MarketEnabler app to fake the network i am on (used TMOBILE, bit no luck so far).
Any ideas?
Same
Ha. I tried the same exact thing. Haven't tested it out yet. I wish someone would port "fakelocation" for iPhone to Android. THAT is what we need. Did you figure out a workaround yet?
bump !
I will donate anything for this
i cant beleive a geolocation faker isnt made for android yet the most open OS :S
and iphone has one
Sameeee!
I live in Australia, if only we could get something for it to work!
Try Market Access Apk.

Anyone working on getting the new Verizon NFL app to other Android devices?
Man I hope so! But the way the NFL is with "protecting the sheild" I wouldn't be surprised if the dev got a CAD letter before they even posted the hack! LOL I don't think Verizon would be too keen either considering it cost them upwards of 700 milion for the rights to publish such an app... But here's to hoping!
I had the sprint one, but as soon as it updated it stopped working, as you had to get the updated version of the app, which you couldn't do if you weren't on sprint
There is a link to it in the Nexus one App forums. Works fine on the Nexus One, but I can't get any video on the G1. DL it, give it a shot. If anyone can get the video working that would be awesome.
Here you go guys

Can someone using OpenEclair or equivalent test this? I think it's more of an OS issue rather than hardware.
no it's not the OS, I've tried it on a couple 2.1 and 1.6 roms and still no video
I think it's frickin beast. I love it!
The great thing about living in Canada is that services always seem to be slow in getting here. One of those services, which I'd really like to have on my new tablet, is Google Books!
I've managed to find a copy of the APK, but it's a phone version. I'm posting here in the hopes that someone might be able to provide a copy of the Honeycomb APK, since it's far better optimized for the tablet screen.
If anyone has this it would be much appreciated!

Thanks, but for some reason it can not be installed. I guess it's only for US region
Indeed! I'm similarly getting the "application not installed error".
I wonder if this is, as gewa mentions, a regional restriction? I'd be surprised as the other versions of Google Books work perfectly on my Xoom, Nexus One and Nexus S.

I've been tryng the same thing from Canada with no luck. Frustrating.
App in the drop box link works for me just fine, live in Europe but have the USA wifi version of Xoom. The only thing is that I had to uninstall the mobile version of google books before I could use this one.
Only problem is that I can only get free books currently...
bwcorvus, thanks for the app
I'm fine if I can only access free books.
Anyone have an apk that I can use to do a straight install? I'm having difficulty unpacking the zip on my Xoom.

Hdtvpower
Can anyone re-upload the dropbox version? I have a UK Xoom so no Books on there at present, would be good to get the tablet version on there.
Everyone else getting a black screen then app closes when trying to launch this game?
I do. My kids hate GtabComb cuz of it

Hmm... tried clem/calk combo and cm7 and no luck either. Looks like its not working on many tablets right now. Heard that it works on xoom but it got no clerification weather it was a wifi only or had 3g. If it requires a network connection we might be out of luck.
Have the same issue on my CM7 gtablet. Checking the comments in market it seems it's because Zenonia 3 looks for an IMEI number. WIFI only so no IMEI, hence crash at start up.
If IMEI is required then the dev is out of the touch with android. I'm also seeing that they are trying to move to a pay to play system which is much harsher than games like shadow era or gun bros. In those games you can get ahead quick if you buy in but the top gear is purchasable with earned in game money. With Z3 you have to pay real cash just to get scrolls to identify item drops. Sux, I loved everything they have made so far and would have paid 3.99 for it(if it worked) just like I'd did with Z1 &Z2 when they came out.

It does not work on Flashback either
I was sitting here waiting patiently at the doctors office with a friend and decided to go on smart world and see what was available. Well if you register your device in canada they have a TON of 3D games available for download, soiderman, avatar, nova 2, assassins creed... problem is everytime i try to download one it says service not available all other non 3D downloads work though, i have tried all carriers and still no luck. Was wondering if someone else could try this out and tell me if you are able to download because i am wondering if its because i am going through att data network (no wifi here) going to try when i get home. If that doesn't work i am going to try routing my phone through a canadian proxy see if that works because if you register in the states the games are 5 bucks. Can anyone get these downloaded? If you do can you post a zip with the apks? Thanks
Another thought is maybe make a nandroid backup, flash an o3d rom and try downloading... i dunno, i am determined to get these games for free if i can. Sucks... other countries have all the fun...
Didn't even think about the fact smart world uses the lg drm service... maybe an overseas drm on a thrill rom will do the trick... welp i got work to do when i get home...
Did it work over wifi?? I'm having the same issue I can download everything else but not the 3d games. Oh and i'm running on your slim ROM and loving it!! Can't wait to see what the update is. I would love to see the face unlock that ics has!!! Have no idea if its possible but would be awesome!!!

???
I got the Canadian Optimus 3d, and the games won't download. What is going on.?
I think maybe it is smart world then... archersoft and wikitude still download. Wonder if they are for some reason waiting for the gb release... i dunno I'm looking into it.
when and if you get those games, don't forget to add them on your roms
Just checked again and i'm registered in Canada and the games are no longer free!!! Oh well
Doomed Froyo Slim
I know this isn't really N7 related, but i noticed it more today when i received my N7. Google music STILL isn't available for UK users. It's been public in the US for nearly a year now. Google need to step up their game. Really disappointing. Sorry for ranting but pretty pathetic it's taken them this long and they still aren't any closer to making it available to people outside the US.
North America isn't the only place people buy you're products Google!
Blame the studios and all the work required for licensing.

Its just hassle though. Surely if apple can do it so can Google. Spotify manage it too.

Apple worked on it for years before managing to strong arm the studios. It will happen, but right now the mindset must be "well, we have our stuff on iTunes. Don't all them young folk have iPhones?"
And yes, all music executives are out of touch elderly men who don't know that not all touchscreen phones are iPhones.
Not only music, we can't buy films either, only rent.
With the Nexus 7 being so Play oriented I would have hoped they would have struck some kind of deal by now.
Hey
Its not hard to do, just use something like hotspot shield, sign up, then once its done, you wont have to do it again, it'll work. I did it when it first came out and its been working ever since.
It is a shame though, you guys in the US have a lot more
I used tunnelbear (free) signed up and setup in 10 mins, working on my phone and n7, just glad i have an unlimited data contract :victory:
As the others have said, use a VPN to sign up. That is the only time (except for if you try to purchase muzak) that Google checks your geo-location. After that you can start uploading your music and playing it with the app on your 7.

How the heck did you get your android devices working with tunnel bear? I can't find the VPN servers anywhere

I think its probably the bpi blocking them. They are not happy that google isn't more proactive at removing what they consider copyright infringing sites from their search listings. Maybe googles new policy to move sites down the search rankings will mollify them.

You just need to use it on a pc long enough to go to music.google.com and register. Then you no longer need a proxy unless you want ti try and buy music, buying music though needs a us payment card.

Ya I gotcha now.... I thought you were accessing the market from your n7 through the VPN. Buying a prepaid MasterCard and registering it to an american address should allow purchases though......

I gave up on Google Music when I realized just how terrible my DSL upload speed is. I didn't really care to have to wait days upon days for my music to upload to Google, so I just rsync'd it to my server right here on my gigabit LAN and fired up Subsonic. Once I donated a few bucks to unlock the premium mobile streaming license, I was golden.
Note: DDNS would be a severe +1 in this scenario. I already had it set up, so I could point to my specific URL instead of my IP which Verizon changes every other day anyway.
Used tunnelbear to sign up and working fine on my N7 but the market won't install onto my HTC sensation because of the device country - do I just need to sideload (given my google account is now music enabled?)

When you say "market won't install" do you mean it won't let you install Google Play Music? Yeah that's normal. You can either sideload or use something like Market Enabler.
