Firstly, thanks for posting this!
However, it seems I cannot install it. It's likely because the Jac Hero ROM I'm using is based on Cupcake when Goggles is suppose to run on Donut. Not sure what to do.
The only thing you can do is either get a experimental build of Hero 2.1 or switch to a non hero rom that has donut. Nothing else will get a app that runs on 1.6 and up onto a 1.5 rom.
Yay!
Works on my HTC Tattoo (resolution / screen size is sometimes a bit to low for all the written content, other then that, it works perfectly).
Thanks for sharing!
works great on hero running 2.0 =)
Link is dead. I found a link that might work. I posted it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7002241#post7002241
EDIT: "Goggles could not be installed on this phone" HTC Magic
I Googled and it says the reason is because it's only Android 1.5, but Settings --> About Phone --> Build Number says 2.17...
Firmware version says 1.5, so does that mean I am only on Android 1.5?

Hello!
Anyone has the ".apk" of the lastest version of "google goggles"?
I can not access the "market" because I don't register for a gmail account (it asks for my mobile phone, p1ss off!)
Thanks in advance,
Any news?
Do everyone really go to the "android market place" to get the applications???
Did you all gave your mobile phone to google (probably without even reading the contract)
Why is there such thing as ".apk" if we can not get them???

I rooted my G1 Tmobile and now it's acting funny in some ways. I don't know if it's an overload of apps (I don't know how to use the 4gb micro sd card inside to free up memory on the phone), or perhaps a step missed along the way (I don't remember doing anything about a radio update), or I picked the wrong OS but I need some help.
-It doesn't always hang up on the first try. It will go back to the home screen but the call is still going now matter how many times I press the end call button.
-Sometimes it will get stuck in landscape mode
- I keep getting the message that I need to turn on the radio and also that I don't have a signal.
I didn't look in the right places for my initial guides and I'm afraid that I'm missing something. I took a screen shot of my system properties. Can someone her tell me where I messed up?

*update* I fixed my radio according to bigballa's post below (thanks) I've attached pics of my other two screens for further suggestions.
what class is your SD card?
try updating your radio?
u have the new radio
the old radio which is suppose to be used with rc33 is the 1.22....radio
Note: RC33 contains a radio update. I chose not to include this in the RC33 update itself, because I personally don't want it re-flashing the radio every time I apply this update. Here (md5: cf8714d273fb0274574d9e3831e11fdd) is a separate update that *just* flashes the radio. You only need to install this update once (unless you happen to flash an nbh at some point in the future, in which case you should re-flash the radio afterwards).
To check if you have the new radio, go into the about phone screen in settings and check the baseband info. It should end with 1.22.14.11

Here are links for MM:

THM Version (older way) - http://www.androlib.com/android.application.stericson-xda-metamorph-xnFD.aspx
I take no credit for the creation of these icons. They were posted on a forum and people requested them to be put into a MM and I got bored and decided to make this for you guys. All I did was create the MM. OG creator is thyraz (http://ape47.posterous.com/suave-by-thyraz).
I need to do other "main" apps. I will try to finish this up soon. But this should hold you over.
The following are the icons that have been changed:

Calendar
Contacts
Gmail
HTCAlbum
HTCCamera
HtcDialer
HtcMusic
HtcTwitter
Mms

I dont have a engadget icon but do have a facebook. Just didnt add it in this release. As for not working on Cyan ROMs, since I dont use it, I dont know the break down (and too lazy to break it down, lol). But if someone else would like to help out on that dept, please let me know either here or PM.
Keep us posted for future updates.
Thanks.

Go back to a NAND you did before applying this.
*bump*
so I can find it on the xda app
Hello Everyone
This Rom is sort of the completion of incubus's Espresso since it never came out it still looks postponed.
It runs in 320x480.
Here is my version:
It has everything his was supposed to have.
Eclair 2.1
-Smooth Great looking New Expresso UI
-New task bar drop down with recent apps
-Friend Stream
-New Dialer
-Much More
Link: Androidinstall.tar
It IS necessary to clear dalvik cache before it will work! You MUST or it will bootloop!
I use a modded kernel for this rom. The kernel overclocks to 510 mhz automatically and has the necessary space for this rom to run on NAND making it nicely quick. It is set to use 320x480 which is what this rom needs
Kernel: VOGUIMG.nbh

looks nice, just curious which Android is this rom based on?
Eclair 2.1
OP updated
Looks pretty awesome. You plan on updating it to 2.2 anytime soon?
hmm wont install for me. Just a boot loop at the htc boot screen
I am looking at sense and espresso 2.2
Bootloop occurs randomly, its really weird. I'm trying to figure it out. try a standard 320x480 kernel and install on sd ext2 img.
does it work on haret?

I don't know and can't test because WinMo doesn't accept touchscreen input on my phone but NAND android does.
i got it to boot in haret, but then it looped on the htc screen when the progress bar was half way.. I cleared my dalvik cache and it worked. it was extremely slow once in and even though it said i had 3g in the status bar any application said i couldnt connect
ok thanks i don't have data plan so its iffy for me to tell if it will work
I'll be repairing and fixing this soon.
Thanks this rom looks awesome if it gets working... I can't wait
320*480
interpolated..
with with geometric distortions (because different aspect ratio)..
brrr..

In the wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001
Look for gapps package for CyanogenMod 7. CM7 is gingerbread based.
Direct link is http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
But before flashing gapps take a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584601
It may be so that you're low on space on /datadata

To be sure I'd suggest to backup to sd card original Vending.apk from /system/app/ - that's market (google play) app on Android 2.3
Then install gapps.zip (gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip actually) from recovery menu.
Thanks but the same thing still happens it flashes up saying downloading but then goand google plays still says downloading i do get an force close mesage when i first boot up after installing gaps.zip i will atach it as a thum nail.
thank you so mutch for your help

Please try clearing cache, clearing data, uninstalling updates for the following applications (in Settings/Applications/All):
Market (Google Play Store)
Google Services Framework
Talk
Update: Ok, good that you've got it working, then no need to clear caches/updates
Hi Everyone,
I have had the Elegancia ROM installed onto a HTC Velocity (Telstra) phone for about six months. Most features of the phone have been working smoothly, however recently there have been issues with the 'Google Play Services' (as shown below - unfortunately some of the message is cut off).
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I 'successfully' updated the Google Play Service through the Play Store; here I have put successfully in inverted commas as whilst the install from the Play Store went fine, it ultimately had no affect and the error message kept appearing.
After trying to fix this through the Play Store I followed the steps below -
1). Went into Settings > Apps
2). Found the Google Play Service App
3). Cleared the cache for this App
4) Uninstalled the App
5). Rebooted
6). Downloaded the newest version of the APK from APK Mirror
7). Installed the downloaded APK
8). Rebooted the phone
Not only did the above procedure not improve the situation, but now when I click on error messages related to the Google Play Service I am ultimately presented with the message below -
If you have seen this issue before and know how to fix it can you please share with me? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Davo
Had the very same problem. Am now running PAC 4.4.4 (current nightly build) and it is no longer a problem. I think ICS is just about obsolete.
Sent from my HTC Vivid 4G using XDA Free mobile app
I read somewhere that flashing the most recent gapps for ICS from recovery may fix the issue. I haven't tried it as I've given up on ICS in favor of kitkat.
