I currently have a diamond rom on here but for some reason sometimes it wont notify me of messages and it is reaally annoying. i just want the original rom on here, so i downloaded a "generic australia" rom in an .exe file that then extracted a .image file onto my desktop. now what do i do! please help
Look in the roms section at the stickys they give detailed instructions on how to flash a rom. They also have the official roms available in that section too.
.image? You got the wrong device my friend.
well wud anyone be able to talk me through how to do this?
I would use the official SE rom flashing tool I finds the most resent rom and auto install it

you must download the original rom (newest is R3A), then just do as when you install cooked roms.
pick your rom here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482
and flash your phone!
Why would you flash your X1 with a diamond ROM????

Hi
I have just received by new SPV M700 (Trinity), and am thinking about updating the ROM to the latest Dopod release. Before I do this, I have a few questions that I am hoping someone will be able to answer.
1. What are the main benefits of updating the ROM?
2. Will it invalidate my warranty/Orange Care? and if so, how will they ever know?
3. What does teh Orange ROM have that the Dopod doesn't (other than settings, homescreen)?
4. Other than MMS/data settings is there anything else that I will need to transfer?
5. Is it possible to reinstall the original Orange ROM if I wanted?
6. Will I be able to install future official Orange ROMS when they are released?
7. Is there a guide to installing the ROM, and how easy is it to do?
Sorry if these questions have been answered before but I was struggling to find answers.
Thanks for your help.

The simplest way is to upgrade to the official SPV M700 Orange GPS one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294431
I think I already have the latest Orange ROM as only got my phone yesterday. My main reason for updating was to get Phonepad which I believe is included in the Dopod ROM.
Are you able to answer my other questions?
Thanks

I do not think so.
The ROM was available on the 17th for download. I do not think that it was already installed on the shop phone already.
Just check which version of ROM you have. The one in the download is:
1.23 (with GPS activated) instead of the actual 1.17 (without GPS)
You can find more details about the ROM here (in French):
http://www.ppccool.com/index.php?showtopic=5907&st=0#entry45953
Concerning the other questions, I prefer that another guy answer, as I did not test by my self yet.
I have ROM version 1.23.61.5, which is what was on the phone when I got it.

Maybe your fone is repacked...
Cause for that i know orange doesnt confirm anything about selling gps enable phone's....
How knows....
There was even a leaflet in the box telling me to download Orange satnav.... which wouldnt have been much use if GPS was disabled!

Why would you want to change your ROM? Apparently you already have the latest that is available...Your GPS works, so there is nothing to do.
I would really like phonepad, which I beleieve is included in the Dopod ROM (please correct me if I'm wrong)
I want phonepad too.
Got the same ROM as you.
hello everyone sorry for that but how can i get back to my original rom after flashing a new roms ( cooked roms i mean )

Find your (original) rom here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone_Ship_exe
And flash
Thanks Gede, could you pl let me know steps to flash it. Thanks
Hi Gede, I could run the exe file and flashed the new rom. Many many thanks for your help.
It´s very easy. Just do it the same way you did for flashing any other ROM.

You need to do search my friend. Whatever your question is, try to search and you will find the answer.
In your case, if you like to flash your device to windows 6.5, you'll first need to do HardSPL. You can find the "how to" in this thread and this thread.
Then, you can choose and download any ROM you like. There are plenty of choices.
Just follow the instruction to flash the ROM....I think every instruction is clearly enough to understand.
I did search and i downloaded the hardSPL program but I didnt use it because it was going to download an older rom than the one i have right now.
How do you guys know which ROM to use? I just want the latest one.

I guess ill do a mini mini mani mo and pick one. thanks!
Oh one more question, so why is the Hard SPL trying to revert my current rom to an old one. Is that what I have to do?

before flash any custom ROM you have to do hard-spl JUST ONCE THOUGH, have fun
hey!
1. you got the latest update for your ROM from SE. that means you are on a "official ROM" or "stock" ROM.
it's suppose to be running on windows mobile 6.1.
2. there is NO "official" 6.5 ROM for the X1 (yet)
3. when you see ROMs saying they are running on 6.5 they are called "custom" ROMs.
custom roms, as the word suggests, are customized by great chefs here on xda to maximize the capabilities of X1 and windows mobile,
that includes the latest updates either from SE or windows (or HTC)
4. there are also 6.1 custom roms
5. the date any custom rom is released suggests it is the latest.
6. there are different "cooks" who may release the same build/update
my suggestion:
try each rom one at a time. sooner or later you'll find one that will suit your taste.
(i think this is the norm here on xda ). and imho, this is how it should be.
if you want the latest agent_47 will not fail you. he's almost always has the latest updates.
if you want a simple & stable rom go for jack's. (with multi-language support)
for pure X1 & wm, look for spikegotti's rom or gtrab's
later you can try itje's, rotastrain's, killer8nl's, etc which are all great.
i hope that clears your confusion. enjoy!
be sure to hard-spl first.
aww you guys are so helpful. thanks im sorry but i will be sending you a PM if i need help. lol

Afternoon all,
I have a number of ROMS including my original backed up one, but after installing anyof them i am unable to update using the update service. I get a message saying it is a manipulated version of the firmware.
Can anyone provide me with a ROM that will allow updating? Or give me any ideas as to what I may be doing wrong. Obviously I have run the Hard_SPL to allow the instalation of ROM's in the first place. Do i need to uninstall this to allow updates?
Any help / advice is apreciated.
Thank you in advacne for your time
Stephen

Thank you for your help.
If only all forums were as helpful
i wana know that where to download stock rom i have flashed custom rom without backing up the stock rom so please guide me where i can find stock rom. guys please help me............
First of all, you using a custom rom now? If yes, why bother about a stock rom unless you stil got warranty on your phone which there aint on 99% of the x1 phones stil used.
If you dont like the rom you are using just try a different rom, when i get home ill try to set you up a link to a stock rom and a few good custom rom's ffor x1.

This is a pretty good custom rom, http://purexseries.blogspot.com/view/classic(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1121634)
This one is close to stock rom, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536551
And here you can get stock roms, just pick the country you live and flash that rom,(edit) links dont work so back to the drawing board, other solution is to try to find the firmware of your phone, i.e. pick a firmware from the link you need, copy the entire line and try google to find it, otherwise use the search tools here in the forums. You can find the name of the firmware here http://www.rapidgsm.com/sony-ericsson/xperia-x1-software-download-free/
(edit2)Even better is this, make sure you got a xperia x1 rom running and update it with the xperia x1 updater. You can get it here, http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

PureX Series is still unfinish in my opinion.. it's not recomended
I Think The Best Custom ROM for X1 is Only Dynamics ROMS by Ultrashot and 826x Series by Williyung
Both ROM are Much Much Better than Stock ROM
BTW, I Recomend you to try Dinamics ROM
