They are indeed. The build.prop in the Flan dump lists the device as Nexus One. I've got GV from that dump installed on my G1 currently. No noticeable difference. I couldn't the market to install though. Was complaining about some certificates...
Edit: Didn't know the new GV took over your VM. What else does it do?

I was able to install the Google Voice app on Eugenes 2.2 Eclair rom, it's got some added features (takes over your carriers voicemail automatically instead of having to manually do it).
I think the added functionality may only be for 2.0 ROMS but I'm not entirely sure.
a lot of them don't work.
i would just wait till they get released in market. has happened for both the new maps as well as facebook.. only time will tell though

From what I seen , I think the cupcake update removes the "IM" messenger and just has google talk
Cupcake doesn't remove it, thedude, anf jf's and h's builds of 1.5 are made from the adp version of 1.5, so you lose the t-mobile apps (aim, msn, favefive, amazon store).
The only ones of those I ever used was the fave 5, and I just installed anycut and made myself direct dialers on one of the screens, its faster anyways

I doubt you will find it and I suggest that anyone who has it to not post it as it's closed source software.
If you want it that bad then maybe you should go back to RC builds.
You could always wait for T-Mobile's official builds.
Then again, you're going to get much better battery life if the MyFaves app isn't continuously polling the T-Mobile servers for updates.

If you use a 3rd party IM client it won't use up messages, meaning you can probably save money on your phone bill by ditching them.
Even if you did get the IM app from the RC33 build or whatever it probably wouldn't work. When Haykuro's 1.5 builds were coming out the IM app didn't work at all. There are several third party IM apps that work just as well. Use Market until the official T-Mo rom is released.

you must not have root? or havent turned on programs from unknown sources in options... try putting on your sd card, and installing using appinstaller.

I've got a UK Vodafone Magic and just received the OTA Donut update today. However it seems to have broken the Google Search By Voice app, as I just seem to get a Force Close everytime I try to use it.
I've tried uninstalling it and re-installing it but it still doesn't work.
Anybody got any ideas?

Same problem here mate! I've been playing around with donut for the last 3 days, but voice search is completely broken (not even there to be more precise). Just hope google provide us with a fix in the near future.

Is there any way of getting Search by voice if it doesn't list on market? I'm on vodafone.nl and according to google themselves, voice dial/voice search is not available in my country.. which is a tad awkward due to laws regarding phoning while driving...
Seeing I can't find a working root guide for 1.6 using MarketEnabler is out of the question unless I roll back to 1.5, which in turn doesn't have the new search capabilities....

I can't help you with rooting a 1.6 phone, as I rooted at 1.5, but you certainly can root and then flash a 1.6 ROM. That is how I got Donut as my carrier still has not released it.

nope, not on the Imagio. There is a thread open in Development & Hacking > Windows Mobile Application and Games.
Seems like its not working for a lot of people yet.
Bing works fine on my Imagio. That said, yesterday Bing had an outage...so you may have experienced that.
There is a known issue on the Bing app where it will only pick the first address if your contact has multiple addresses.

which one did you download, didnt work for me.
the new bing sucks.
No...didn't realize they actually released a new update. And the new update states that "you're phone is not currently supported." Personally, as one of the few new WM6.5 phones, I am stunned that it isn't supported.

Install it to see what it looks like then uninstall it and reinstall the old version. The new version is horrible and looks like a Beta 1 version of the last version. It's so unusable that it's not worth installing.

I tried to do the udpate and Bing says cannot recognize the phone (or some similiar message) and then launches the browser and lets me download bing.cab. i tried to run bing.cab and it says cannot install in this phone.
Are you on Verizon? Search a bit, it is well known that Verizon's phones are not letting the new Bing install. Not just the Imagio, but ALL Verizon phones.

Hey bud, you're right. It appears that others on the Verizon network are having issues with the new Bing upload. That said, it appears that the updates to Bing aren't being regarded very highly. So maybe it's for the best at the moment.
hello, i tried searching for this problem but didnt find it.
my phone is working fine except for an issue with google navigation.
the phones supposed to give you voice instructions but theres no sound at all even with it maxed out.
is there supposed to be a voice or is my maps screwed up?

i put fastest on my g1 for fun while waiting for new superd. i had a chance to test out navigation and to my surprise i got talked to by robot voice lady.
will have to wait for superd before saying this was just a minor glitch.
maybe you said something to upset it?
i think on first load, it asks to download a speech app from the market...don't remember the name, perhaps it is the TTS service (text to speech)?
i have both tts and svox installed from google translate.
that program talks to me with the ladies robot voice just fine.
just can't seem to figure it out for maps.

try this: uninstall google maps and install it agian
don't know if this will work, but reinstalling something usually solves most of my problems
Is there a good talking GPS app for the Eris?
I'm guessing you have 1.5 installed because otherwise I'm guessing you would know about 2.1 having navigate which is very nice, but then I've never had a gps system so I have nothing to compare navigate to.

To be honest I'm not sure if it's 1.5 or 2.1. I'm not tech savvy at all. How do I tell which one it is? I have Google Maps on mine.
If you don't know which one you have then you still have 1.5, the only way to have 2.1 is to install a leaked or rooted version ..... but if you are not up to that VZW does claim that 2.1 for the Eris will be officially out "soon" at which point Google Maps adds Navigation with Voice....

Thank you very much. When the 2.1 comes out will I have to get Verizon to upgrade the software for me?
No your phone will receive an over the air update and simply ask you to go ahead and install it. Then you will have 2.1 and google navigation.
