AdvTxt - Spell Check and QuickText - G1 Apps and Games

AdvTxt is lightweight text editor. Current features include Spell Check and QuickText
Launch the app from anywhere using quick launch keys, or a notification bar shortcut.
After editing, your text is sent to your clipboard ready to be pasted into your sms, email, twitter, or anywhere else.
To give it a try scan barcode or search "AdvTxt" in the android market.

I don't see the point, really. Doesn't the on-screen keyboard do spellchecking? The only thing I can see this being useful for is the quick text stuff, so you could save common phrases. But the time needed to open the app, type the message, convert the quick text, copy the text, load your [insert communication app here] app and paste it, you could type out the quick text phrases.

Notification "Bubble" Question

First, I have searched these forums using both Google and its own search engine in an effort to answer my own question. I came across a good number of posts that raised the same question but did not have an offered solution. If I have missed the correct post, please link it.
The question is simply "how do I eliminate the "Notification" bubble that pops up and reminds me that I have unread e-mail AND the "Notification" tab at the bottom of the screen that has to be dismissed before my standard soft-key "Calendar" reappears?"
I have a program that tells me how many unread e-mails I have; I do not need another one. I want the phone to play a sound (if desired) on a incoming e-mail and then just give me the icon that shows the number of unread e-mails. I do not want to see the "Notification" bubble pop up at the bottom of my screen or the remaining/returning "Notification" soft-key on the bottom bar.
I have already gone into the Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications and turned everything off related to e-mail. I have even tried editing the registry, as suggested in another post such as:
______
"...... found this on another site. It may help you..
1. Install a registry editor like Resco File Explorer’s add-on registry editor or PHM registry editor.
2. Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER
3. Tap control panel>notifications
4. Tap default
5. Tap options
6. Choose what value will be applicable to you and replace the default number with it (for XDA Atom, the number was 13, I replaced it with 8 to suit my preference):
0 show icon
1 show icon and play notification sound
2 show icon and vibration
3 show icon and vibration and play notification sound
4 same as 0
5 same as 1
6 same as 3
7 same as 3
8 show icon and notification bubble
9 show icon and play notification sound and show notification bubble
10 show icon and notification bubble and vibration
7. If you want to configure how long the notification bubble will stay on the screen, tap on duration instead of options. Change the number there into the number of seconds you want the notification bubble to stay up."

The foregoing does not work for me - or I may be doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
I have had the same problem no matter what ROM I use. Cannot figure out how to turn off email notification.
How about trying:
Settings
Personal
Sounds & Notifications
Notifications
Messaging: New E-mail Message
& uncheck Display Message on screen.
Thanks GSLEON3 for the suggestion....but as stated in paragragh 4 of my post, I have already tried that and I still get the nuisiance notification. I have also tried editing a few of the suggested registry values (with no luck obviously) and, according to my search of the forums, this is not the first time the question has been asked.
I am confident one of the brainy ROM modders has the answer.......maybe?
it can't be done, the only thing that you can get rid of is the message automatically popping up, which is what the settings change refered to in paragraph 4 does. You will always get the ntoification icon and on the left soft key. Someone would have to hack the resources that tie into tmail.exe (tmail.exe is the app that the mail client uses).

Thanks. Now I can quit worrying about trying to fix it. It is, however, a nuisance.

OK This is way over my pay grade, so who wants a PayPal donation?
I found a way, sort of
Had the same problem until I found this post

Disable SMS received notification
The following setting disable SMS notification and sms recieved icon on screen
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailable = 0
To enable again
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailable = 1
The upside is that it gets rid of the bubble, the downside is that is disables all native notification for SMS. I'm using PocketCM, so I still get visual notification, but no sound or vibration.
I have come accross that post as well...unfortunately, it only addresses the issue of how to disable the SMS notification (which other registry tweak apps do as well). I am more interested in disabling the e-mail notification bubble, that has to be "Viewed" or "Dismissed"...............
Thank you (anyway) for the input.

[Request] Gmail with no header/footer

When opening mail in the Gmail app, at the top, there is always a section for heading and then sender, and at the bottom a big footer with options to delete, archive, etc.
This really cuts into the screen space when trying to read mail.
It would be amazing to have an option to hide these. Title/sender should really be automatically hidden after a few seconds of opening the mail.
The options at the bottom should only appear with some gesture from the user.
Thanks!
I've also given this feedback to google through the gmail app as well.
Soo want this, as I read a lot of mail on the phone.
Hope others think this is useful too.

[Q] Put Folder of Contact Shortcuts on Launch Bar

Apart from the prefix "Can I", or even "how do I" if I can, it's all in the heading really.
On my phone I have a screen of contact shortcuts, usually two per contact - ring mobile, send SMS. Some get ring work as well. Having a small family and few friends, one screen is enough.
I would like to bundle all of the shortcuts into one folder on the launch bar, but it seems that apps are the only things I can put on the launch bar and then stack into folders.
Or am I missing something?
I have seen the "People" app, but that allows only one entry and default action per favourite person.
Any help appreciated.

[APP] Secure Clips - Secure & private clipboard manager

Creates a private clipboard that cannot be read by other apps. You can also create and manage private notes.
TIP: by giving permission to use "accessibility service" you can copy and paste text to editable fields that do not offer the "three-dot" submenu.
Get it from Play store
To copy text to your secure clips:
Select the text to be copied.
In the context menu, select the icon to see further options - normally a three-dot icon.
Choose "Copy to SecClips".
Or, if you have given permission to use the "accessibility service", long click the selected text and click on the corresponding icon in the popup window.
To paste text from your secure clips:
Select the text to replace. If you don't want to replace an existing text you need to write a couple of characters and select them.
In the context menu, select the icon to see further options - normally a three-dot icon.
Choose "Paste from SecClips".
Or, if you have given permission to use the "accessibility service", long click the text field (even without selecting a text to replace) and click on the corresponding icon in the popup window.
To view and manage secure clips and notes:
Choose the corresponding icon at the top right of this page.
Or, choose "SecClips" in the context menu.
Or, use the quick settings tile "SecClips". You may need to give the application permission to create popup windows to use this feature.

Can you explain how this differs from your previous app, PrivateClipboard? https://www.xda-developers.com/private-clipboard-mimic-android-10-privacy/

"Secure Clips" is a continuation of "Private Clipboard." Initially it was created for those users who had expressed the desire to donate for "Private Clipboard": in these cases I prefer to create a new paid app that offers something extra (like the black theme) from the free app, so those who donate can get something more.
One thing that some users have pointed out to me on "Private Clipboard" is that not all apps (editable fields) offer the " three dots" menu when you long click on an editable field. This practically prevented these users from using the app as they had no way to copy and paste text from the private clipboard.
On "Private Clipboard" I had no way to find a remedy since the precondition for this app is that it would not need to use any permission to work.
In "Secure Clips" I used the "accessibility service" to give the possibility to copy and paste text to all editable fields, even in those cases where the apps overwrite the system menu and do not offer the " three dots" submenu. So, when you long click on an editable field, you see both the menu offered by the system to copy/paste etc. and also a popup window offering copy/paste from the private clipboard. Note that the use of "accessibility service" is not necessary if the apps do not overwrite the system menu.
Update
v. 2.0.1
Optimized the logic to automatically show and hide the popup.
Fixed a problem with the non-visible item "SecClips" in the submenu "three dots".
Bug fixes and minor improvements.
Update
v. 2.0.2
Added locale for French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
Bug fixes and minor improvements.
Update
v. 2.4
New setting to see abbreviated text in the "three dots" sub-menu. This option is useful when default entries are truncated.
You can delete all clips from the clipboard. You can find the functionality in the context menu located on the page where the clips are displayed.
Bug fixes and minor improvements.
