Mic Volume on Calls CM 4.2.9.1 - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First off...thanks in advance for the help.
I'm running CM 4.2.9.1 and the mic is at an ear shattering level when I'm on a call.
I've searched through the threads and I can't find any specific fix (admittedly, it's possible that I missed it or didn't search right).
Anyone aware of a fix? Or setting that I'm not aware of?
Thnx.

while on a call, press volume down.
Do you have any audio hacks?

Not that I'm aware of.
I will try the volume button...probably should have tried that already...
fail.

[Q] Problem after updating to Froyo!!!

I just updated to official Froyo & I see that while somebody calls, pressing the volume buttons would not mute the ring like in Eclair!
Is it the same in all Froyo builds? Anyway to get that little option back?
Confirmed. i noticed the same problem too. i used this "feature" often to prevent distraction by an incoming call while having a discussion.
Another problem is the lag in switching orientation. Sometimes it didn't even detect a change in the phone's orientation. You have to sometimes give the phone a few jerks to get the switch going. I wonder if this due to the update or coincidentally the accelerometer gone faulty after the update.
Any help or hint to fix these will be appreciated.
Any help guys?
For me it works if you keep the vol button pressed for 1-2 sec
You are right buddy! It works if we hold it but not if press it once!!!

I don't have Froyo yet, but I read on another forum that if you press the power button when you receive the call, it will mute the sound. A new feature.

[Q] After HC Upgrade Skype is too lound, help?

I use skype daily for business. I can't live without. Ever since the recent Honey Comb update from Dell my volume is full blast while in skype talking to someone using the OEM headset/mic. If I use the regular mic and speaker volume controls go normal.
It is just skype voice communication that this happens. While skype is open I can do other things on my tablet and volume is adjusted to how I set it for device.
Has anyone else experienced this since upgrading? Any solutions?
Thanks
Last time I used it with video, I did not noticed this. Are you using video call or voice call? I will test it tonight and let you know.
Just voice thanks for checking.
ok I tested and confirmed your problem. I cannot change the volume also. It must be a bug. But there's a simple solution. Use a headset with a volume control. I have tested it and a headset with a volume control will allow you to turn down the volume. One drawback is that the preset volume is the Max volume, you cannot increase the volume beyond the preset volume without power amplification. However, the preset volume is more than loud enough, too loud for my hearing.
I hope this helped you and others who may have run into this problem.
Thanks again for confirming. I was at the conclusion of the volume controlled headset as well. Hope they fix it soon. I really like my portable skype phone.

[Q] Earpiece volume drops during call

I have an ATT galaxy s5. Its rooted and installed wanam xposed framework.
I have disabled few apps. I have also modified mixer_paths.xml to improve volume as mentioned in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755756
Otherwise, no major changes.
I find below issue for some time.
During a call, the volume toggle between clear and too low.
This is listening on earpiece. When on call, I will be hearing other party very clearly. Suddenly the volume will drop and I can hardly hear other person.
After few seconds (15-20 sec), it will become clear again. And this continues during the call.
Did you notice the issue? Do you know any solution for it or how to debug it?

Could it possibly be toggling to speakerphone when the volume drops?

No. I am sure sound is from ear piece.

[Q] loudspeaker during calls is very quiet

hi,
a friend of mine owns a i9305 and i flashed it for him.
but with one problem that the loudspeaker during calls is very quiet which occurred immediately after changing the rom and so i exclude a defect of the loudspeaker.
first i flashed omni and the loudspeaker was very quiet. i thought that the problem is a rom problem.
and now i flashed carbon and the loudspeaker is also very quiet.
you hardly understand what is being said during calls if the loudspeaker is activated.
on stock rom it was much louder but now on two different custom roms its very quiet if the loudspeaker is activated.
all other sounds like ringtones or notifications are loud.
can anyone tell me what is the problem and what can i do about it?
big thanks in advance!

Try the usual pressing the "volume down" hardware button and see if the volume suddenly jumps up - adjust volume as desired after that.
