After trying all kinds of ROM's i decided to make a ROM of my own by my wishes.
Soon i discovered that that won't be a easy task.
So i need some help.
I would like if someone can help me with getting started or at least direct me to the posts where i can found the answers.
the main question for which I'm trying to found the answer is :''which kitchen is the easiest for a newbie like me so i can start working on my ROM?''
Ofcourse i will share my ROM's on XDA as all of the other cooks as soon as they are made and tested.
I will even make a tutorial on this matter so all other members of the XDA community can make their own ROM's if they like.
A few good kitchens listed below:
[KITCHEN]TOUCH HD ROM Kitchen (From JugglerLKR and JCEspi2005)
[KITCHEN]TOUCH HD ROM Kitchen based on Ervius kitchen
[KITCHEN][PhamQuang] WM6.5 ROM FOR TouchHD THE MANILA 2.1 + MANILA 2.5
I would also recommend reading the following thread as it offers lots of help and advice:

I am starting this thread with the hopes of this community sharing different turorials of their Wizard ROM cooking experiences. If you happen to run across one, please post it's link here. Hopefully, in time, this could be a compiled set of tutorials and ROM cooking tools.
Faria & Molski, as it seems as if you guys are the Master Chefs here, any input from either of you would be greatly appreciated.
Hopefully we can develop some new Chefs in this community (including myself) to widen our ROM options.
Extended ROM Tutorial
I have used this tutorial with great success. Follow it to a T, and it installed flawlessly.

Tools?
What are some of the extra ROM cooking tools are you guys using out there?
imgfs_tools & typho5.exe are the first 2 I started using, and are pretty easy to quickly learn. These 2 tools allow you extract, dump and compile .nb files.
Hi all, I have been cooking for my Nike for quite some time now, but I have a Wizard I also want to cook for...
Can someone point me in the right direction to a kitchen I can download and where I can get the hard spl to install onto it?
Has anyone got WM6.5 and M2D running on a Wizard that I can download and test?
edit: I have a G4
Thanks all
DT
Nice! I would also be interested, good 2 see more Aussie developers here!
You can start with X2H's How-to cook ROM for HTC Wizard & CRACING's CRBuilder™ 2.
Both of them have great tutorials on making a rom for our Wizards.
Also you can look at both of their roms. They have a bunch of them to try out.

thanks for that - plenty to learn me thinks
Hi all,
i am looking for some headway ...
how can I get my hands on winmo 6.5 with nothing but the bare minimum.?
I have a official 6.5 rom, could i use that to strip out everything right down to the bare os and then build up from there ?
then how can i get my hands on Manila 2.5/6 and cook that into the rom? that is correct right? since the HTC Sense is a new thing not yet released/available??
i have been playing with ervius visual kitchen trying to have a look at the custom roms but i see that you cannot extract them so that is a no go ...
my ultimate goal is to build up a rom that has and fits only what i want from my phone.
thank you.
Should do some reading first. THIS is a great kitchen to start with!

hi, thanx for the above, will give it a read ... looks great ...
i have read quite a few posts but they explain how to dump the roms and stuff but not great with details ... hence why i thought i could dump custom rom and see how it looks but that does not work...
I had a bash at PPC Kitchen but that does not seem to work either.
Thank you again.
Visual Kitchen can do some more stuff. There is a clear post in the Rhodium section where the user explains how to dump an original ROM. Don't have the URL but it's there
Good luck! And post your ROM on XDA of course
Still testing my WM6.1 ROM atm... ...hope it's good enough to release in about a week or so...

i think i have read that one ...
ROM Modding Guide to Visual Kitchen
and
Visual Kitchen
my biggest confusion is how i can get my hands on the individual components... like having a clean stock rom and loading the tf3d/manila/sense on top of that with the rest of its programs.
did a quick search and came up with 2 nice ones.:
ready to cook kitchen
and then this one:

i am still quite a end away from posting my own roms ... like i said there is stuff that i want and stuff i do not want ... so it will mostly be custom to my needs ... besides there are a good few great chefs, my personal favourite is Ark_N with his cooked roms.
Hey guys, So as some of you guys have seen I have made some posts in regards to ROMs. I am still unable to find one that make me completely satisfied so I was going to cook a ROM. I tried looking on google and I found a link to Scott's Simple Kitchen at this link, but its for CDMA devices and I have the T-Mobile tp2, can this still be used? I just didnt want to mess up my device. Thanks!

Hi, I downloaded Jackwater's kitchen with the 23549 Rhodium packages to play with. It's in this Rhodium forum. There is another kitchen called OS kitchen. It's in XDA. I downloaded from Topaz forum with 23563 packages to play with. I''m still very new to cooking, so I won't be able to help you much.
Alright well Ill look up Jackwater's kitchen. Thank you!

Not sure if sticking cooked ROMs is a good idea.
It would be like sticking all apps that are in the applications thread...
But I do agree with you for all the other suggestions.
Anyway, you are doing a great job, thanks!

I know where you are coming from, but I do get a lot of requests from users looking for the "best" cooked rom, which as you know doesn't exist. This way I can point them at one thread and say "have a look there and while you are at it, read everything else in that thread "
Also helps with other users who can simply direct n00bs to one thread for everything.
I don't plan on doing this for the Apps or General sections, only the rom development forum. If anyone feels I should, please let me know
@spartan
tnx for this great idea....
can we also have the list of wm6.1 roms included in the list?

Blackstone as MP3-player
Dear Blackstone fans
I would like to use my old Blackstone as a MP3-player only. What rom should I use? Is WM6.1 better? Or which rom could serve this purpose best? Or can I use a completely empty rom if it exists? Although that last one would make it difficult to use it as USB-device to add songs on the disk...
Thx.
Use orange ROM bare version and add nitrogen.
