Hey guys I really love the timer widget and I want to port it but don't know how is there a guide or instructions on how to port an app.t
... what timer widget? I only know of a Clock Widget... =/
Why not dl stopwatch app,? You want to port it over to hero or to cupcake from hero? Please more info!
Sorry not the widget just the timer app it self it has a very nice ui I want to take it from hero rom and put on ion rom
I wish people would stop asking these questions.
Here's the deal. HTC Hero and any other Android phone that's not HTC are different in SO many ways. The framework might be Android, but there are so many different changes to it that, by the time you port anything over, you have to have that HTC framework installed. It's needed for anything from HTC to work.
We got lucky with a couple apps because developers work hard, but the fact of the matter is, porting something from HTC onto Android is a LOT of work. I mean a lot. Saving myself from frustration, porting over a timer app from HTC is not worth it unless someone had a lot of spare time on their hands, you know? There are quite a few timers in the market and they all work better than the Hero timer and don't require precious developer hours.
They might both be fruit and round-shaped, but apples and oranges are very different things .
Will any of the themes for the Dream work on the Hero? Will we have any cool ones like Prodigal Sun? Is'nt Hero essentially a theme? I hope we get some soon. Mybe we could get a pettition going to get Google to allow theming without rooting. It's done on other phones.
The mournful howl of the wind as the tumbleweeds roll on by this post.
Hero isn't essentially a theme, lots of things have been modded in android by HTC.
It should be possible to port Dream themes made for Hero roms, but that's about it. Any other theme needs to be redone for the hero.
When is someone going to port sense onto the droid? I just got my droid after a screw up where verizon sent me the eris, and i had to put up with it for 2 weeks. I love sense, but the hardware of the eris was terrible. HTC needs to step up there hardware. I tryed openhome with 2 different themes, one was good, but it forced closed sooooo much it i couldnt use it. I tryed aHome, same problem. Im not sure how safe rooting is, and i really dont want to mess up my phone. What is the best hero rom or theme for the droid? Has any one ported sense ui onto the droid? I mean, i know its possible. I would be willing to root my phone if there are any good roms/themes availible. Also, what are some good roots out there? Ive seen it on so many devices EXCEPT the droid! Im currently running GDE with the hero theme, and it works well, certainly the best ive used, but the only difference is the conversation widget, bar at the bottom, and 7 home screens. Still stuck with all the boring stock android widgets. I want to see sense run on a droid. I want it on MY droid. Thanks in advance.

.......what does this have to do with android themes?
I just thought this was the best place to put it. If it needs to be moved, move it. I didn't see any catagories that it fit in better, and it discusis themes.
I don't know maybe Android Development since you are looking at rooting and booting a new rom on your phone? Just a thought.
sense has been ported, check out the alldroid.org forums, but some vital things such as battery do not work (it must be plugged in)
this might have been fixed tho... idk check it out.
u might have to click on a dev's username in that forum, try eugene373.

it's not a theme. it's a complete rom. which is not a theme. which would mean it does not belong in the themes section. which this is.

Panda Home also has got got reviews on the Droid versus Open Home. I haven't looked into what would be needed to change to theme the Music and Power widgets for their themes yet, thats the only thing they dont import from the Open Home themes.
Does anybody know of a good mm theme for the droid Eris?

Well it depends on a few things. Which ROM you are using and what your style is. My Kevlar Mash (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701283) seems to be good and there are also a ton in the hero section. If you are using a Sprint based port, they should work.
Its more about trial and error. Make sure to NAND before applying any MM as you may not like it or it may not work. And you might have to apply a MM a few times before it fully takes. Dont know why but just does. Hope this helps you out a little bit.
also there are morphs designed for cyanogen builds only....they do not play nice with other roms as the framework is different. so be sure to read the info
Hi all, been searching for a while now and there are tons of themes for the Froyo builds but what about standard 2.1?
Ive seen Bluenex by Villian teams but i don't really like it. Where are themes for 2.1!!!
Are you wanting themes for AOSP based ROMs or Sense? There aren't that many complete themes for Sense at all really, well not on the GSM Hero side anyway. There are quite a few for AOSP but as you say probably not a huge amount for 2.1
Your best bet is to scan the forums, CDMA included as is the same res as the Hero, and then ask nicely to see if someone can port it to the ROM you are using, or take a look around at the guides for creating themes and port it yourself If you're just dealing with .png's it's not too much hassle.
This would also depend on what rom you are using as different roms *may* have different frameworks (fixes and whatnot).
