HI
I THINK WHEN I UPGRADE MY OS VERSION THE FILE WAS ENCRYPTED BECAUSE I CHOOSE TO ENCRYPT DATA IN STORAGE CARD WITH THE OPTION OF ENCRYPTION BEFORE UPGRADING ,SO THE BACKUP FILE APPEARS LIKE THIS
PIMBackup_20091221.pib.f01e184e.menc
ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA TO DECRYPT THIS FILE TO READ IT CORRECTLY WITH ANY PIM BACKUP ?
THANKS A LOT FOR ANY HELP

Hi,all the time you must backup your files in your pda,spb backup for programs and Pimbackup for contacts ...
Thanks but PIM backup work when you use it to save your pim informations.
I don't use before and the PIM Backup doesn't find the last pim informations ...
Another solution ?
would recommend you strongly to open an account in my.funambol.com and install their WM application, extremely easy & useful for backup...
I will this solution. I have try other but without succes ....
OP, I'm not quite sure about your complaints about the functioning of PIM Backup, but it works extremely well for me. Just make sure you back up to your storage card and not your device memory, as a hard reset will wipe all added on information from your device memory.
I have an Exchange account with 1and1. It syncs all of my contacts/calendar/tasks/mail.
Whenever I port to a new ROM, I just double check that my photos/video/docs are on my MicroSD card, and flash away! Then on the new ROM, I just point to my exchange account again, and I'll be right back where I was in minutes.
Definitely work the small $
I think I forgot my contact forever ...
I don't use before a Pim backup and WM6 and Activesync don't propose a backup ... I use PDA during the last 6 year and it was the first time thaqt I lose my contacts ...
Next time I install a Pim backup program ...

Hi
I want to transfer the SMS's text messages on my HTC Touch to my HTC Diamond. I have look on various forums and tried various software OEExporter & SMSexporter but no luck.
HTC's website says 'It can't be done at the moment' but is it possible & how?
Please if can anybody help!
Try to save your cemail.vol on Touch and restore it on Diamond
To save your cemail.vol on Touch, try to move temporarely your .vol on internal storage (see my post on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411087) and for restore on Diamond, try to do the same before copy it
Just delete or rename the registry key to "restore" the original location
Good Luck

Just use PimBackup 2.8 from this site. Export the sms on your touch and import them on the diamond.
TDO
Be carreful, Pimbackup just export SMS, not MMS (pb with attachement)
But Pimbackup is the best solution to do this
To restore attachement with "my method", just restore Windows\Attachment and My Documents\UA Caontent directories (from Touch to Diamond)

Hi,
I've successfully used the mentioned reg key, to move the DbPath to another location or file name. Than I've copied back a cemail.vol to the original location. However, it never shows the SMS in my old cemail.vol.
Reason is:
I've made an ROM upgrade from original (slow) T-Mobile ROM to the latest Dutty, posted here in the forum.
I've made a backup of the device before that using SPB. It created an .exe backup and I've extracted the cemail.vol out of it.
I'm deadly missing my old SMS that should be stored in the cemail.vol, right?
Can someone help me to retrieve all those SMS from my cemail.vol (if it's in there?)
Thanks a lot guys - I've been trying since two days now
Regards,
J
i recommend using Jeyo Mobile companion, PimBackup didn't seem to save my threading on the SMS
And it also does contacts, emails etc etc
Hi
I upgraded from WM6 to 6.1 on my TyTn II. I backed up the device data using Sprite Backup with the Device Upgrade mode on. I did not know that I had to create an upgrade file before resetting my ROM. Now I have 6.1 working well but I have lost my phonebook, calendar and all the other stuff. I just want to get back the Phonebook and the Calendar.
Please help.
Thanks
Mohit
Did you sync your device to your PC before upgrading? If so the phonebook / calendar will be on the PC (Outlook) and you can simply connect the phone & pc and sync back.
If not try rolling the ROM back (search on here for a good selection of shipped ROMs) - restore your backup - then create your upgrade file and flash to 6.1 once again.
Can get a bit long winded - but should get your data back!
hiho,
i need your help. it looks like that my pim.vol is corrupt.
i allways backuped my contacts, while i make a copy of the /pim.vol to my /speicherkarte/pim.vol. and restore it the other way. works like a charm (no active sync ...)
now i downgrade from win 6.5 to win 6.1 and i copied my pim.vol back to / , but i can't see my contacts.
is there a program where i can extract/read or something else a pim.vol file?
thanks
greetings
edit: i install win 6.5 again to read the pim.vol but same :-( no contacts
Could try pim backup on phone, would be a better way to back up in future
I just upgraded my OS to wm6.5. Before I did this I did backup my phone with Sprite Backup. I have the file and now that I I need to restore my data it will not let me due to a new OS being installed. I have gotten most of my files that I need back on my New OS but I am having trouble getting my contacts back. I was thinking that I could get my file from my old backup and over write the new one.
So, I need to know where/or name of the file that has my contacts on it (wm6.1) . Thanks guys.

The file is " pim " file explorer/my device/ pim. But you can't restore from the pim file itself and since sprite backup is not compatible with 6.5, you may have to go back to 6.1 backup your contacts with PPC Pim Backup and then reflash 6.5 and then restore your contacts using Pim Backup restore.
Thanks
Thanks for your help.
i will trade my Tytn2 for a HD2 today
Can i just copy the PIM-file from my Tytn and put it into my HD2 later then my contacts will be transfered?.
would be very thankful for a quick answer.
Thanks
