this has nothing to do with awipe
make sure that if you're on windows rename it to update in the removable disk. go to console and do:
mount sdcard
ls sdcard
should say something with update, is it update.zip.zip or update.zip
try naming the file simply update w/no .zip sometimes windows will add an ext without you putting on the on the end of the file because it is already a zipped file. I had this problem the other day

[Q] Cyanogen Mod 6 won't install on N1

I've updated the radio and the latest stable version of Cyanogenmod 6 won't install. I've tried ROMmanager and Manual install via recovery and always end up with a Status 7, aborted install. What am I doing wrong? I am running FRF91 ROM right now with the latest Radio with no problem, but would at least like to check out Cyanogenmod6 to see what it offers over the Stock Froyo ROM.
Here are the steps I take:
Enter Recovery Mode.
BOOTLOADER
RECOVERY
Which takes me to ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7
WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET
WIPE CACHE PARTITION
INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD
CHOOSE ZIP FROM SDCARD
Then I navigate to and select:
update-cm-6.0.0-N1-signed.zip
The install starts running, and then I get this error message:
assert failed: getprop("ro.bootloader") == "0.333.2012" ||getprop("ro.bootloader") == "0.333.2012"
E: Error in sdcard/update-cm-6.0.0-N1-signed.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
Then I have to restore my ROM back to FRF91.
Any help will be much appreciated
Looks like you have a new HBOOT.
Here's a guide for downgrading:

HBOOT
I'll take your word for it and try the steps you pointed me to and see if it works. Thanks in advance!
It Works
I followed your instructions and it worked! Thanks.

[Q] "(Status 7) Installation aborted" when trying 2.3.4 via ClockworkMod. Help!

[Q] "(Status 7) Installation aborted" when trying 2.3.4 via ClockworkMod. Help!
Hi, I have stock 2.3.3 rooted, with a compatible overclock kernel, and radio 5.08. When I try to run the 2.3.4 update from within ClockworkMod recovery, I get:
Code:
Verifying current system...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("MTD:boot:2373632: ... <snip> ...")
E: Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Please tell me what to do to avoid this and install the 2.3.4 update successfully?

It appears to mean that the test it's doing to determine if you're running a valid 2.3.3 installation is failing.
Probably because it can't find a file on your current setup that it is looking for.
You may get more info from the recovery.log (adb pull /tmp/recovery.log)
Or you may have to reinstall your 2.3.3 ROM (assuming it is complete) and repatch.

Problem with building a rom!

Hi everyone! Today I've managed to try build a CM7 based rom. Almost everything is okay, but when i flash rom in CWM v.5.0.2.6 there is an error- assert failed: write_raw_image(''/tmp/boot.img'', ''boot'') E:Error in /sdcard/ROM NAME.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.
Rom was built in Android Kitchen.
Can anyone help me with fixing it?Thanks in advance!

[FIXED]Error while flashing ROM

Hello all,
So I wanted to switch ROMs, have been using SlimLP for a few months now and before that Novafusion ROMs. Decided to go back to a older Stock ROM, this one
I am using CWM recovery to flash and get this error: set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed E:Error in /external_sd/---Project_Noble_v2---.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.
Also tried flashing this ROM
Got an error again: ApplyParsedPerms: removeexattr of/system/bin/backuptool.sh to 0 failed: Operation not supported on transport endpoint set_metadata: some changes failed E.Error in /external_sd/Full+Advance-5.1.1-20160306-golden.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.
Flashed a older ROM that i had on the SD card so i could use the phone untill I get a fix.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
well, got it fixed. Changed CWM to TWRP using this and flashed the ROM without any problems.
