ROM Kitchens or development programs - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hey i'm looking to get into cooking roms, but i can't seem to find a legitimate kitchen or development program. i've searched the site, but came up with nothing. could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Use Josh' or Ervius his kitchen. There is even a thread for the Rhodium that provides step by step instructions. This thread probably closes soon as the information is actually available

Romkitchen for the wizard or for windows mobile 5.0

Please can someone help us unknowlegeble people create something like that for us (romkitchen for windows mobile 5.0)
Thank you.
do your own research
try doing some research instead. I bought my first windows smart phone one week ago, researched the ROM upgrades and methods at this forum and others. I was able to unlock my phone, safely backup my stock ROM, and flash a much improved radio and firmware package without any trouble thanks to the excellent resources available.
If you want someone to do it for you or hold your hand, you have no business hacking your phone anyway. Leave it to those who can research for themselves.
......hes kinda got a point there the, wiki should be your 1st stop not the forum

Thank you to everyon for your help. Yes the wiki should be the first stop. But have you visited the wiki lately? it really dosent help out that much, cause it dosent have that much information in the first place.
If you Look at the main forum, i have already complained about that .

ROM Cooking First Time - I HAVE SEARCHED and searched...

Hi,
Please could someone point me in the right direction on a tutorial/guide on how to use KovskyKitchen? If there isnt one at the moment then please let me know.
Furthermore could someone let me know how to rip/extract the baseROM from a UK Vodafone X1. I am completely new to this game but would like to make my X1 as lean as possible (really how I see fit), do worry I HAVE SEARCHED THE FORUMS but cant seem to find a definitive guide.
Cheers,
Phil Rich

There isn't one for X1. But you could read the guide for kitchen for other device (Touch pro, kaiser ...etc) since all are basically the same.
Basically, you need to put the extracted nbh file in /baserom and run the command the to extract.
Or maybe you could try mine or itje's lite/clean rom to save yr time.
searched and searched but didn't bother reading a couple of threads down on here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446382&page=2
to dump the rom you need itse rom tools and run pdocread.
if you type rom dump into the google search at the top it tells you how to do it.
I have dumped the vfuk rom, but the 4 raw files are even at maximum compression 250mb+ so I haven't had time to post them
When you have the 4 raw parts you stick one of the base ruu_signed.nbh roms that are already on this forum and put part2 & part3 raw files in the base rom folder of the kovsky kitchen, as said here.

Thanks for the advice, but...
Hi,
Thanks for the links fards.
Please could you describe to me what a nbh file is?
What does it do and where can I get one from?
Does this come from the ROM dump?
Thanks,
Phil

Just curious, but do you have any experience flashing ROMs yet? I have owned 3 XDA's and flashed many ROMs so I know a lot about the ROMs SPL's and such. Thats something you should be knowledgeable in. I am thinking about getting into cooking too now.
A nbh file is a ROM. The nbh is the product of your cooking, and the nbh is what you put into the RUU to flash to your device. You can get it from a ROM dump or you can download it from others.
It's always a good idea to just download the tools, start them up and take a look around. See what options are available and get familiar with them. From there start asking questions. It's a bit hard to answer if you're basically saying "tell me everything".

you're learning fast
all ive ever done is read the other device tutorials and had a play, although i did prefer the hypercore kitchen on the athena to the kovsky/kaiser based one.
but it does the job especially with the really neat options.xml generator
I am starting to learn to cook roms, does the HyperCore work for xperia? what kind of dump should i select? normal OS.bin (option 3)?

Here's a kitchen by JackWater. I'm not a cook, but I would like to learn in the future, too.
I'm not sure if that helped or not.
...Just found this. I'll bookmark that! It seems promising!
I hope the latter helps a lot.

Just make sure the kitchen isn't only for CDMA! Make sure it can spit out a GSM ROM, too!
Good luck, new-found chef!
Hi I am trying to learn how to do this. I am trying to use the rollup builds from Da_g
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445
but I do not know what to do with it. It seems like all the folders are just thrown together in one archive. When I am looking at the extracted HTC ROM they are separated. I am looking at some guides but they are a little confusing. One PDF says "Copy the build folder (23022 shown above) into the Kitchen\SYS folder" but the folders in the rollup archive are not arranged in the same way at all to what is already in there.
Any pointers?
EDIT: Nevermind I found the Dump Sorter program, very handy.

[Q] Will this 6.5.3 rom work on my Pure?

Ok, I am unsure if this is the right place to ask, so I apologize if it goofed. I thought about posting it in rom development, but I was unsure.
As I have noted before, I am now an amputee. Missing most all fingers on my dominate left hand and my feet. I am looking for a better rom for my Pure, one that will be easy to use. I have used several different themes that made things a little easier ( as suggested by some nice ppl on this forum) but I saw the 6.5.3 and think this would be much easier for me.
I followed so many threads trying to find a simple answer, but no joy.
my question is pretty simple:
Will this rom work on my Pure.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=528217
Or, does anyone have a better suggestion for a 6.5.3 rom to flash on my Pure?
Thanks!
Smoakeater
That ROM will not work as it is for the Fuze, not the Pure.
Have a look at this ROM.
I assume you have installed Hard SPL?
FYI, ROM Development section is specific for ROM development, General or Q&A is proper place for questions.
Oh, that looks groovy! Cool, what I was wanting. I have yet to install anything yet for flashing a new rom, but I will be soon. I have been pouring through some noob guides for flashing.
Thanks so much!
Smoakeater
You can select your Custom ROM from the ROM Development forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=486 for Topaz/Touch Diamond 2.
There are several that you can chose from .
Thanks.
