6.5 with no New Lock Theme? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Where can i get the new lock interface and answering interface? I have mightyrom6 with 6.5 but it seems to be missing those features

Then it was the decision of the cook to leave those out . At least I'm sure about the lock interface because I removed that too. Not sure about the answering interface as I dont get many call's...

I don't know if you already know it, but you can go to start - and the left softkey 'Lock'. If the old wm6.1 lock screen appears it is indeed removed before cooking the ROM.

Go to (Settings-Lock-Display) change to window default

Use a differnt ROM
L3V5Y Roms has it

Honeycomb background (6.5)?

I just flashed to l3v5y Topaz WM6.5 [21819/21820] (26060901) WWE, and was wondering if there was a way to put the honeycomb background back to the start menu/program list?
Also, how do I get 4 rows of programs instead of 3?
EDIT ADD: Oh, and is it possible to add more links to the main menu of 6.5? I don't want to have to always go into the start menu and scroll all the way down to start an app. The Topaz doesn't have a big enough resolution (lol).
This it's a good question were is the Honey...comb ?
I try 2 different ROM's and the same flast interface and no options to customize only to MOVE TO TOP option.

Is there a way to get rid of the Honeycomb start menu? WM6.5

I recently flashed my rom to the Rhodium Energy Rom with WM6.5 and I love everything including the Touchflo3d Landscape etc but I HATE HATE HATE the Honeycomb Start menu, I miss the simple Start drop down menu where you can customize the programs you want on the menu and the recently use programs. Is there a way to have WM6.5 but have the old menu instead of the confusing annoying new Honeycomb one?
You can try reStart to reorganize the Hoeycomb-Startmenu but there will be no recent list (thats the only thing I mss after using the WM6.5 Startmenu for a while...)
Or you can try QuickStart, a Startmenu Replacement and TaskManager in one.

nice that they are making changes to it. hope its not just another skin modification or something
Hi
Aleluya,
it is your time to put the Ok button
down, it's easier .....
Thank you for the info!
I don't like this new UI,top and bot bars are increased and for Manila this is not a good things,HTC Task Manager icon is covered from the clock,MS moved left softkey to the middle and this way home screen became ugly...
I try this 23022 on my HD but i moved back to 23017 in 5 minutes...I hope MS will complete the new UI with a better look,IMHO,now, this is not the right way.
Which ROM base on Build 23022? i want to try

I can agree with you that it is not the prettiest of changes, however the fact that they are changing the UI proves that they have finally realized that the UI looks crap
Go here...at the end of the first post, there are 2 TEST versions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493911
Thanks for the ROM Miri
Is this build not stable yet? Why is it Test version?
Because of the graphic glitches. If you have time test it and you will see what's going to come

That looks nice OK button was always a big problem for me it's to small and it's too damn far away from the thumbs when you operate with one hand. It's not maybe the best solution but definetly an improvement I don't want to try it cause it's too early version but what happens to the task button? I see that the clock is there so it's removed ?
hey miri is it gonna be a non-manila v or we wait 4 a stable build coz this one seems nice alot visual changes
Nope, 23022 is not ready for daily usage, we have to wait a little more

23022 and Manilla 2.5
Miri - I am big user of your Manilla 2.5 ROMs. Please share when you think you will drop a 23022 build combined with Manilla 2.5. Keep up the good work!
Now the important problem is manila 2.5 is not stable! not the WM6.5 if you dont use manila, you can enjoy the new version of WM.
But I think microsoft is not creative. HTC had made the WM more easy-operative and better apparence.
So, it is not microsoft but HTC which should optimize their work.
i really hate Window 6.5 UI. Just look and see at the home screen the top and bottom bar are transparent but when u go into setting or sms for example they turn into black. It's really baadddddddddddd . That's the reason why i choose to stay with 6.1 rom until now

Absolutely right
I really like the new WM6.5 UI. It is a definite improvement from WM6.1, despite the fact that I don't really like a 100% Touch interface. I like using my stylus too but this is in WM6.5 not an issue.
What I don't like is Manila. How can I disable it completely? I am not talking about Touch Flo but about Manila. I want to have the original WM6.5 experience...
There are soime rom called super light here where u can get only 6.5 experience without manila. But as i talked above u should stay with 6.1 because u will get dissappointed with 6.5 right after u use it

if yo want to disable manila goto settings->today->items and uncheck "TouchFlo 3D"
if you want to get the original wm6.5 experience you have to enable titanium which is microsofts new "desktop". you can enable it under settings->today->items and tick "Windows default".
This is the merge of MD (maldives) and Com3.
There are definitely many issues with the number of changes made and many of the new UI updates have no real skinned assets.
However, there are some fixes in 23022 and the native 480x800 resources help (the themes included also have reg settings which need to be applied).
X button replacements like HTC TaskManager have some issues, as do the Notification managers and enlarge start menu services.
MS is in the progress of transitioning the notification UI to the confetti plus engine (the HW accelerated, XML/CPR driven engine that runs the start menu)
Knowing Miri, he will likely have a stable build up by the end of the weekend.

Windows 6.5 Questions

So I've flashed to SEX1 R3 and I've been wondering is it possible to remove the XPERIA-themed Dialer and replace it with a standard 6.5 dialer? Would this be possible?
Also in some of the ROMS I've noticed the icons have been changed from default. Is there a .cab to fix this?
should be.
install advanced config, in the settings is a option to disable additional keypad or something like that.
but be warned, the 6.1/5 is just ugly and looks like XP with extremly rounded buttons.

Which Windows Mobile 6.1, 6.5 or 6.5.5

Regardless of the ROM and chef that built it, whats your favourite and why...is it the speed, looks or stability.
like the button design very easy to use
6.1 Nice and fast with zero problems. I don't use too many apps so the finger friendliness of 6.5 isn't much of an attraction to me and I don't like the 'Start' menu layout of it.
6.1 - fast, stable, supports drag&drop (in Total Commander/CE), has start menu with recent programs, it's easier to select items in listboxes (item is highlighted when you tap&hold on it so you know what are you selecting, this is overrided by scrolling in 6.5), has moveable msgbox windows (still can be dismissed like in 6.5 by tapping on the window content, you don't have to aim for OK/X), unlike 6.5.5 it is possible to run Wisbar Advance on 6.1 (and 6.5) to have icons of running programs right on taskbar, 6.5.5 doesn't support programs with toolbars (I had problems with Total Commander/CE - no start/close visible, icons too big so they didn't fit).
And yes - I like Total Commander/CE
24006 - 6.5.3 - no manila and htc stuff - titanium only. best battery-life, relatively good speed
28232 - 6.5.5 - no manila and htc stuff - titanium only. good battery-life, god speed
6.1 + Manila 2.1 - best combo for manila roms... relatively fast, but compared to win-only device... you think that it freezed sometimes when you are waiting for manila contacts, which are worse and unglier than win 6.5.* by default.
Depends on your needs... if you like social network engine, take manila one but choose faster and older sys. If you want to work and run programs mostly on your phone, then i recommend win-only rom. The best (and nearly only) way how to obtain it is to cook it. Try the Ervius kitchen here, it is ok - after 2-3 evenings you have your own baby-rom
is it good to set up another poll for UI shell choices for reference for chefs? like manila 2.1, sense 2.1, sense 2.5, titanium, clean (for spb mobile shell)...
Have tried a lot of ROMs of all flavors, but I somehow always end with some variant of 6.1
I still might choose some 6.5.x variant (currently have an eye on Miniterror's Ravage and Wajk's blackSTONEhenge)
I use 6.5.5.24001 titanium.
Pros: Very stable, fast, no memory management problems, very good battery life, polished graphics, finger friendly.
Cons: Some programs have problems with bottom toolbar, but such is life!
By the way, here is a good tip for handling the non-visible ok/close button: Just map it to the tap and hold function of the call button! This way, when you have an app that won't display properly, simply tap and hold the call button until the app is closed/minimized!
Bottom Line: 24001 is really rock solid in terms of memory management, thus I prefer this over a more compatible/conventional OS that has to be restarted every two days due to memory leaks!
Enjoy!
It's either WM6.1 & Sense 2.5 or WM6.5.5 & Sense 2.1 for me.

What wm6.1 and sense 2.5 rom are you using?
I like to use 6.5 with sense 2.5, as the windows 6.5 is stable and sense 2.5 has now got quicker on roms
i like windows 6.1 more bug free than 6.5.5
but 6.5.5 have nice bottom toolbar... more fingger friendly i think

+1 .
Stupid things in 6.5 & 6.5.x
Despite some minor improvement in 6.5 and 6.5.x in compare with 6.1, it’s so strange to me why Microsoft always forget some basic assumptions and doing very stupid modifications?! For example I cannot understand why in 6.5 and 6.5.x drop down start menu which is contained recent opened application is missed, while it was so useful!
Another Foolishness thing is the new lock screen! Why instead of locking the home screen or today screen which is contained user required information, a new lock screen created? And then due to the shortage of information in lock screen many developers are working to make it as complete as possible!? Also why there is a lock button just in Start menu page? If it’s useful to be available, why it does not exist in other pages?
Anyway, it’s always been fault of Microsoft! Day after day creating new things, but loosing basic concepts like ease of usage and simplicity. You can see this matter from moving from XP to Vista and then to W7!
I wish somebody were exists in Microsoft to listen to the customers carefully and check their ideas by himself.
it isn't very hard to figure out why they changed the lockscreen *whisperes something about Apple and the iPhone*
