Have this weird problem, which doesn't seem to be part of any specific rom. I don't remember if i had the problem on the stock rom, but so far I've been using only CM's roms.
Problem: Sometimes I'll get a txt msg and It will show for a quick second in my notifications bar. Sometimes it shows the txt msg icon, sometimes it just shows a lil snippet of the msg and then disappears. When I go to my txt msgs, its not there.
This doesn't happen all the time, but its happened on several occasions which sucks. Sometimes I dont see the phone fast enough to see who sent the msg , having no idea who to bug to re-send.
I did a quick search on xda, but perhaps im searching the wrong terms. Does anyone have this problem, and know of a solution?
Thanks.

This problem has persisted with every single version of Android I have tried. I live in an area with a somewhat poor signal, so frequently some of my SMS messages do not send. Now, the problem is that I get no notification of this other than a little red exclamation mark appearing next to the message. It does not resend when I get a signal, it just sits there!!
So, I need to long press the message, press edit, then resend. This really pisses me off because it's inconvenient and unnecessary.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
No, if there is not a good enough signal then that will happen. Mine does that when I try to send a message and my signal goes out. Its just something we have to do. The only thing I can say is make sure your radio is up to date, which I'm sure it is.
Damn, that's a shame. This is quite a big usability issue for me - and I'm sure many others. Is it possible to make a custom build of the SMS app?
You talkin about where it will send the message as soon as the signal returns.
Yes. I see no advantages to the default behaviour.
That would be something good to have, and I know it can be done. Have you tried any other messaging app to see if it behaves the same way, or do you want to stick with the default app.
About the nexus randomly refusing to send texts when I have full bars and 3g, is there a way I can make my superphone send text messages again without a reboot? And is there something done by the user that causes it or is it just another screw up? I ran a search :
http://www.google.com/m?hl=en&gl=us...droid-browser-key&q=nexus+one+texts+wont+send
but all of the posts I found included failed calls but I'm pretty sure I can still make calls so I don't know if my issue is different. Thanks
P.S. is this considered a bug in that we can expect a fix from Google? And is there an organized system open to the public not just of all the bugs but of all the bugs we can expect Google to address? I think I've seen it before but I can't remember how to find it. I ran a search but this is as close as I got.

I don't have an answer as I have this issue randomly also.
I didn't have it for a few weeks and this week suddenly it happens everyday. Besides rebooting, nothing I do fixes it.
One weird thing is I can still send text messages through Google Voice, but sms and "sometimes" phone calls don't work. It's sooooooo frustrating!!
i have not ever experienced this issue, but i read about it alot. is it because you guys are using the stock messaging app, and i have been using handcent since day 1?
possibly. ive used the native messaging app almost exclusively, but chomp had the same issue for me.
Lately, after a few failed attempts I can get the message to send without a reboot maybe 25% of the time, on the other hand the problem seems to be becoming more frequent for me...wish i knew more about this stuff.
i have tried to search for this once already but the search function was down and im stuck at work at present so limited to how much time i have on the net. If this has already been answered, then by all means let me know and close the thread. anywho to the point.
i have my phone on the latest cyanogen rom and have been having continuous problems with notifications with handcent. now im not sure if this is handcent itself, if ive screwed up the notification settings on the cm parts or what, but every so often, if im doing something on my phone, i.e. surfing the net, chatting on ebuddy or other, i never receive a notification from handcent to tell me i have a message. i could be sitting there for ages doing something and nothing happens.
any ideas?
Hi folks,
i cant really explain it better in the title, sorry for that.
Sometimes my phone acts pretty weird.
If it's in standby-mode and i press the Power-OFF/ON button to awake it, it takes like an eternity for the phone to actually wake up.
Same goes for the Home-Button at the center.
When there is an incoming call and i anwer it, i cant "close" the call by myself, because i simply cannot access the menu once the phone is in standby-mode when talking longer than 20 secs.
The strangest thing happens when I call somebody else: i cannot close that call e.g. when nobody answers, i have to push home-Button or On/Off-Button a thousand times in order to get a short response from my phone where i see the dialer menu for like 2 seconds...
Somebody got an idea?
P.S.: Is it normal that LauncherPro-Background is bugged in Gingerbread-ROMs? It sometimes shows a black background while only the dock shows the part of the background i actually set.
Regards.
Aww i really want to get these problems solved :/
I'd realy like a solution on that aswell, it's very anoying
Well the launcherpro bug is because ram memory is full and launcherpro needs to reload himself. I don't have the first problem on cm7, which rom do you use?
I was on Darkys 9.5 extreme edition when this problem occured. In addition to that problem also occured when i was on a doc rom - irealy have no clue why.
I am currently on Darkys 10.1 but couldnt test if the bug ia still there when calling or answering a call.

I have an XT1095 Rooted on stock 6.0 and the stock text messaging app has the annoying habit of not playing a notification sound, or vibrating, if the messaging app is open. This means that if I'm typing in landscape mode I have no idea if the person I'm sending a text to sends another message to me because I can't see or hear it. Their new message could possibly negate whatever it is that I'm typing so I waste time typing out a message that I end up erasing and starting over. This happens frequently. Even more annoying is when I finish sending a text message and set the phone down without locking it and without closing the text app. Since the back of the phone is curved it usually rocks to the side slightly as I set it down which puts it into landscape mode with the keyboard showing, totally covering the screen, and then I have no clue if/when I receive a new message during the time that the phone is waiting to timeout. I've waited an hour for a reply to a message that had already come during the 30 second timeout period and I had no clue it was there.
I've searched everywhere for how to turn on text notifications even when the app is open but I can't find anything. There's another thread on here where the person has a problem where they don't get text notifications when they're on a phone call. I have that same problem but it doesn't bother me that much. That's the closest thing I could find here. On some other site someone had the same problem with Lollipop on a Samsung, but the reply was that it was Samsung's tweak and there was nothing they could do about it. Am I also stuck with it since there don't seem to be any settings for it? Or am I having a moron moment?
