Official T-Mobile WinMo6.5 "Upgrade" Opinion (kind of @NRGZ28 related) - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

Official T-Mobile WinMo6.5 "Upgrade" Opinion (kind of @NRGZ28 related)
I just flashed (or whatever it’s called) the official T-Mobile RUU_Rhodium_S_TMOUS_1.91.531.4_Radio_Rhodium_4.49.25.57_Signed_Ship.exe upgrade. I have been using NRGroms since I first received my TP2 which I think was in Oct. I actually sometimes still use an old ROM I like best, EnergyROM 23016 Rhodium 10.17.09 Standard. 23016 has been my favorite upgrade build for WinMo I think. But what do I know about the background work. I just know it’s had the best stability of all ROMs I’ve used and 23016 and has the better customizable standard 6.5 start menu. For example, when you long press and item instead of saying “Move to Top”, it lets you drag it anywhere a la Droid home screen. Well not as customizable. I didn't even try the original stock ROM until the 3rd or 4th TP2 I "purchased" for a friend or family member. Right now they are FREE and you can even get $100 for your old smartphone lying around. I sent in an old Tmo Dash non 3g that I fuct up and got the rebate. You can get that rebate here http://www.htctradein.com/t-mobile/ . As for the link for the free phone I don’t want to post it to keep it active as long as possible. But if you really want it though, just PM me.
Ok so back to the Official 6.5 Rom. Well about say 6-7 hours of use I can say that I will more than likely be heading back to EnergyROM_21885_RHODIUM_31.Dec.2009_Standard or the 23016 build. There are few things irk me that aren’t done off the bat on the new Tmo build. First is the 3 row start menu which I know can be easily changed to 4, but it isn’t. Also, when you lay the phone face down the speakerphone does not automatically activate. The folders aren’t nicely managed on the huge start menu. (Sorry I’m a little baked so can’t think clearly. Just went to a friend’s house to pick up 2 laptops I’m going to fix for him and he greeted me at the sink with a great already loaded gravity bong with some decent nug so I’m not thinking to clearly and can’t remember everything I really hate.) I don’t like Manila, I use SPB Mobile Shell, but this one doesn’t compare to 2.5 of even the 2.1 on NRGs. Umm the background is a little ehh. Of course no tethering and all other great included NRG freeware apps he cooked in. Umm it comes with 6.5 build 21881.5.0.84 compared to NRG 218815 that I use. Lots of bloatware somewhere or official apps I haven’t yet tried to remove but when installing my first cab I noticed there a good chunk of internal memory missing compared to the much lighter NRG build with much more useful freeware included. It must be the included TeleNav app, plus a few others.
So don’t get me wrong, it’s a great Official Rom. For a standard user off the street I’d definitely recommend it to. I’m just comparing it to what I am used to. Every time I get an Android, I come right back. WinMo is by far the supreme OS to me. I just can’t wait for “Windows Phone 7.” I don’t post much so don’t get upset if I post in the wrong place or if I comeback to say the original point I meant to make in this opinion that I forgot somewhere along the tree branched mix up there. What does everyone else think? What do you not like or **** do you like. Got to get back to business as usual but wanted to leave a little insight on the official ROM for those of you thinking of making the switch. In my honest opinion, just keep the NRG because it’s not worth the hassle and I’ve already done a lot of work customizing NRG ROMS to my preference. Well take easy. Sorry again for the Larry David-esque post about nothing.

Well from reading his post, he said he is "baked" so one can only assume baked+computer=pointless posts.
In all seriousness though, I find the big problem I have with the new Unofficial "official" Tmo US rom is that it is just way too slow. Everything else aside, the slowness is what kills this rom for me. However its nice to have an offical rom to downgrade to in the event that the phone breaks or w/e.
And come on. We finally have visual voicemail on our TP2's!!

Too true my friend...
closing thread.. please post questions regarding nrg's rom in his thread and the same with the official thread.
Peace,
Josh

Happy day 4 me, and somewhat 4 u

Got my kaiser/tytn2 today
So I am leaving herald community and venturing over to kaiser.
What do that mean for herald? Well, Im gonna finish my 3 latest projects. The rom for p4350 wwe, and the norwegian rom. And ofcourse I will finish the tutorial.
But thats not all I am gonna do, I am gonna upload the sys, oem and rom folders for both wing and p4350. And I am also gonna upload a section of oem packages, some I have made, but mostly stuff I have found all over the forum. I will make it easy and add the oem packages into the OEM kitchen folder. This means that when you choose to build your rom, you will get a list of whats inside the oem folder, and then you can check or uncheck w/e you want to include in your rom.
The files and folders are no longer limited to personal use, if you wanna share your rom, please do so. But the condition will be that all roms released using the kitchen files (oem, rom and sys) a note with credits to the one spending alot of hours building for you
Im not leaving completly, incase some few are gonna miss me Im gonna check in once in a while and help out, and follow some up on the tutorial.
I cant promise this will be done this weekend, but I can promise that it will be all finished sometime before next weekend. That include the tutorial.
Now Im gonna dump my norwegain kaiser, and see what can be done with it
cheers
We'll miss you... unless you buy me a Kaiser, and then I'll just be happy along with you. lol
Anyhoo, I think my kitchen is finally done, (I've yet to try out the last ROM I've made) and it's all thanks to your base ROM (Minus some tweaking...)
I'll also be using Hyperkitchen to make some more tweaked ROMs. Hopefully, I'll become the next itje... without a kaiser...
Congrats my friend and excellent that you received your kaiser. Is it the Kaiser 120 (with 3meg pixel camera and and video calling capabilities)? This is definitely a step up for you (and your phone, lol). This is a step I look forward to making in a month. Although you're going to be relocating to the Kaiser forum and your new home will be there, your frequent presence and guidance here will be missed for sure .. and I will go out on a limb to say that's on the behalf of everyone here, lol. I'm sure that forum will treasure your insight and expertise. I'm also happy to hear you're not just leaving us, you're still going to make guest appearances here, LOL, and remain a consultant (sort of speak) for us amateur and experienced rom cookers.
Remember, you can always come back HOME (here, lol), if thing don't work out over there, LOL.
As for me, I'm using your latest beta version now, but I think I'm going to downgrade and use version 2 for my herald instead due to it's stability, until you have the final versions posted. I'm struggling with the keyboard issue, lol. Itje, Thank you for everything. PS .. The kaiser forum will be my new home in a month anyway, lol. So look forward to picking your brain, lol.
Congrats on the new handset. I know Ive been eyeballing the kaiser for a while but I need T-Mobile to carry it so I can get the employee discount.
I think I can speak for the rest of the herald and wing users when I say that we appreciate all the work you've put into the wing and herald. And of course, I cant wait for the finished tutorial!

nice one itje will miss you too when you are not often around here in the herald forums ....
but the best thing is that you will upload the oem packages, sys and oem folder and that you will finish the tutorial. THIS IS F****NG GREAT
You will be missed.
Have fun with your new phone, I'm not quite ready to upgrade. I think I am going to see what HTC has up its sleeve next. Thanks for everything.
ITJE, I heard the Kaiser is a piece of crap. I suggest you get rid of it and stay with the Herald.
Seriously, I really appreciate all the work that you've done and given me much inspiration on cooking my own ROM for the Wing. You were like my Faria from the MDA forum when I used to carry that around.
I hope you enjoy your shiny new toy.
Lets have a farewell party and get drunk!!! haha
Oh, I am going to buy the kaiser whenver T-mobile USA releases it...
Its way too rich for my blood! Wing will do for now.
i don't mean to be a butt, but (lol) didn't you say that if we recooked and released one of your roms, you would stop cooking for herald? So now, can we do so without your permission? Or would you like to set another policy.

Reading this thread seems that Itje had bigger problems. Luckily his bigger problem by now is getting used to his new device.
Thank you for all your efforts and nice work. All of your "betatesters" come to this thread to say goodbye. That's quite nice. Maybe the forum masters should consider creating a hall-of-fame for all of those who made it worth visiting daily. You have my vote.
Good luck and, who knows, maybe be meet again at the kaiser's forum.
P.S. Again, I'll be connecting daily hoping to find your (last) releases...
so itje when do you think you will release all your stuff here? cant wait to grab it off and take your position in the herald forums maybe i will be the next rom cooker. until now i have read much hours instuctions to build an own rom and i had no problem using your excellent instruction you posted here .....
miss ya maybe i will catch up a kaiser to and follow you *smile*
Just wanted to say thanks to itje, if it wasnt for your ROMS i would have jumped ship to the Kaiser along time ago! I guess I was spoilt as a Wizard user with all the roms available, but it was nice to have at least one chef for the herald. Thanks again.
Thanks Man,
If you didn't help with the roms... a piec of this phone would have ended up in a tmo reps A$$..
Thanks again
enjoy the incresed power!
please do not resurrect month old threads. sorry if i sound like a butt (no reference to past posts intended, but it IS convenient)
I will miss you man.

which 6.5 rom should i use help!

hi i just recently purchased a touch hd telstra and am about to flash it with a 6.5 , there are a lot of talented people here with their own versions of 6.5, is there one that is the most standard rom with everything included and which one would that be?
Goodness me, this genre of question is asked two to three times a day, do some of your own investigating and research and in future follow the forum guidelines, dont be so arogant!

If you have to ask, you are probably better off sticking to the default ROM you phone comes with.
i suggest to make a sticky with the title 'NO WHICH ROM TO USE TOPICS HERE!!!!'
but not even that will stop some ppl from posting that ****.
You could even use the word KNOW instead of NO
I have a feeling this thread will be closed soon.
No ROM is the "best". Each excel in some ways and its up to you to decide whats best for you. Its a bit like asking someone for some good music. they will only tell you what they think is good, not necessarily what is good for you.
what does this mean? youre gonna have to try them all and see which you like most (shouldnt take more than an hour or so as there arent that many)

Fully Tested Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM for Touch HD

I am just wondering if the chefs are going to be making a fully tested windows mobile 6.5 rom anytime? If they will, will there still be bugs in them and especially the lock screen?
In before the abuse.
There are plenty of Windows Mobile 6.5 ROMs out there but unlike desktop operating sytems there are many many different versions.
Even official roms are going to have bugs, all we can do (as Touch HD users that will likely never get an official 6.5 rom) is find an active chefs whose work we like and give feedback on their releases...
...although even then I doubt we can "fully test" them.

agree with E Punk... the chefs test as best they can then it's up to us. when i hear "fully tested", i think of a high-level test strategy, detailed test plans (positive/negative tests), unit test, integration test, use case, debug-fix, user-acceptance-test, more debug-fix, etc., etc. that's simply a lot of work... once we get a hold of a ROM, load it, use it and report findings the chefs can review posts to look for consistent errors and those are generally fixed pretty fast. bottom line: if we wanna play, we have to be willing to accept that there will be bugs, behavior quirks or whatever you want to call it. the problem some of us have is knowing when to STOP flashing, lol!!!
i think that a version without major bugs will be out when htc releases official winmo6.5 rom updates for touch diamond2 and touch pro2, as those phones share 99% hardware with our hd
wm6.5 Downloads
Hi all
It is all very well 4 u experts. All these talk about flashing rom and WM6.5. However, no mention of where really this WM6.5 download is, the guy on youtube points to places that do not exist on xda developers site. I open Mary one thing it does not show any of the things he talks about. Also the hard spl he talks about caused me to waste 2 full days trying to restore my phone to its original function. Yes it was grbaged until with pere=severance I figured out a simple download to restore it. Can any one please make simple straight forward steps to find the WM6.5 download?

With all due respect, I can only assume based on your post count that you are new to the HD, you need to read this forum more. Find the wiki and and read it. I was on this forum for 4 months before I flashed my first rom. Windows 6.5 is not meant for our HDs. A lot of the issues that people are complaining about may or may not affect you. I have no problem with daily use with most of the roms I read and read before and after I flash. I don't expect anyone else to do the dirty work for me but there will always be someone who gets there before me. All these posts are inundated with "does this feature work" or "in the last rom I could do this can this rom do it". I know it is a pain in the backside to flash you phone all time but that is why we are hear. If you are just wanting the perfect rom then you are probably in the wrong place.
I hope this does not come across to hard but I read this forum almost every day. The best advice I can give you is to read then read some more. Or you could end up with an expensive brick.

This isn't an attack.
You don't understand the extent to which a cook has control over most bugs (or doesn't). Most of the bugs you see in the ROMs you're looking at are way beyond the cooks control. Remember, they don't have the source code -- they can't fix the software. What they can do is look for updated versions from the developers that might have fixed a problem (but maybe introduce new ones). The biggest control chefs have is over things that can be controlled in the registry: things like visual layou, etc. In addition, some optimization options are available when packaging the ROM, however, I'd advise that you just understand that 6.5 is still an unreleased beta product (even if plans for release have been finalized) at this point.
Your friendly community (volunteer) chefs have done all they can to bring us interesting samples of this upcoming product. The bugs are not a result of lack of testing at all.

Judging from how "4" and "u" are not words, and the way this unknown "youtube" guy has given him the impression that he's a representative of xda-dev, I'd say he's new the HD, and somewhat new to life -- maybe 14 or so years old.
Reminds me of the tone that AOL users had when they first came onto the "Internet". They used to angrily demand tech support for the Internet from ops in IRC as if those people worked for some "service" that they were paying for. Oh, those were the days.
Your advice was perfect.

Slightly going off orginal query topic which has already been answered well in my opinion by both Electronic Punk & cortez.i. Not much else needs to be discussed on that topic

How to cook your own rom, an initiative by moderators

Dear folks:
How many us are really looking for cooking our own rom. Information are scattered here and there and the process is not straight forward. It can be as simple as adding cabs and as complicated as perhaps changing hardware, porting roms to other devices, etc...
I think the reason why there is no tutorial for cooking the rom is because well it's difficult for one to develop that kind of tutorial, let alone his/her experience and best practices in various areas.
Ok so how to solve it? I suggest that all great cooking people out there, share to build that tutorial led by the moderator.
For example, one person could be in charge of explaining how to add CAB, another person in doing sys, another in porting, another in compiling, etc..
Clearly there will be multiple sections in that thread and it would be owesome and well organized. Even better, some topics can be jointly developed by more then one person sharing the experience and the best tricks and tips between them.
Somebody has to start this initiative, at least in defining the blocks, who is going to take the first shot and entice others to cooperate?
Samer.
sounds like a good idea i'd definitely like to know!!! im always looking for ways to build up my skills.
There's plenty of tutorials floating around... But if you want one done JUST for the TP2, I can help with that...
Im down...if not make my own, maybe help someone else. I personally think there are too many to choose from, and there needs to be a streamlined process to ensure that the ones that work, continue to get the support to make them better.
As NRG said, there are already a lot of threads and tutorials. Making a ROM is not just a Rhodium thing, it is very generic to start. Then making it Rhodium compliant might take some extra work. In any case, I am also looking to start my own kitchen so any efforts in this direction are apprciated.
I would greatly appreciate this. I am currently trying to cook my own ROM. I got the Visual Kitchen, dumped the HTC WWE 6.5 ROM and downloaded the 23518 rollup from Da_G.
I used Dump Sorter to sort the rollup and put it in the SYS folder. I moved the MSXIPKernel into ROM\Shared\23518. I selected 23518 for XIP and SYS build and left ETX at 21854. The ROM won't build. I try to make it but the file in RHODIUM_Release is only 8MB.
In the build log it says
"Executing: platformrebuilder.exe.....
platformrebuilder.exe Executed successfull!!!"
Platformrebuilder does not do anything where as if I left everything at 21854 there is a LOT of stuff that platformrebuilder.exe does.
Also in ROM\Shared\21854 there is a file xip.bin that I don't have in 23518.
Help cooking sense2.5
My problem is when trying to cook Leo sense2.5(EXT package). ( I could produce sense2.1 without any problem) . BUT ran into issues like: (see photo) or if the ROM is complete. I can't get past the installation screen, just hung there and not giving me the Today Screen. So any help would be greatly appreciative.
ps.. I did check Real WM 6.5, but ROM still won't boot.

Well first of all, it's an honor to see a great person like yourself answering my post, so my warm regards for your kindness.
Yes, I am interested obviously in TP2, although from the moment I got my hands on it, I never tried anything but EnergyRom (do you know who does them?) but it's just that I wish I can combine the latest official WM6.5 with arabic keyboard and Sense 2.5 and perhaps some cool stuff.
Indeed there are plenty of tutorials out there but maybe they are not clear enough to me, or maybe I didnt' search very well or maybe I dont know how and where to start. so yes ur input are highly welcome just like your presence.

I'd love to see one! Not that I'm not grateful to the cooks for their ROMs, I'd like to know how it's done and maybe add a few programs of my own to a ROM.
Oh, and I think it'd be best to start right at the beginning so that everyone is at the same level eventually.
Thanks!
I started cockin roms a couple years ago and said the exact same thing how the information is scattered.. i'm in, just let me know what you need and i'll help with what i can.
I also see some tutorials in many sub-forums, but having to look at 4 different pages just to do one step in cooking a ROM is a little troublesome and confusing. So here's what I think should happen:
I think there should be a sticky thread that has clear steps (a guide) on how to cook ROMs.
Then there should also be a sticky thread that has all kitchens from chefs that want to release them. (Similar to the Radio Collection Thread.)
That would help a lot of people! I want to cook ROMs when I have the time (over summer) and if (hopefully when) this happens, it would be easier for many people like me to cook ROMs.
BesFen made a solid tutorial for using Visual kitchen in the Opal forum, and I helped with that one. I think this is an excellent idea and I'd love to help with it in whatever capacity I can.

edit: Just read the poll results. Whoever said no is obviously not XDA material.
i dont mind helping with this
Thanks for starting this thread.. Been using excellent ROMs from NRGZ & b16b, but want to do my own thing for my Rhodium. Hopefully, this will get me to appreciate the efforts of these 2 fine cooks and use the facilities provided by XDA better..
I've been trying to wrap my head around the info provided by Da_G in this super thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445
It is taking a while for a newbie like me..
When I had my XV6800(AKA Titan) after a while of modding I started cooking my own roms. I usually removed the garbage I would never use to shrink the Rom size. I then left for a BB in Nov. 2008. Well my senses have come around and I will be back to WinMo with a TP2 on Wed. So I would like to see a kitchen to cooking rom Tutorial assuming it is different. I know that of course CDMA vs GSM will be with because of the carrier CAB. This go around I am leaving VZW to T-Mobile.
So, what's happened with this and this thread? Has it all turned out to be a p**s take?
I would love to see a cohesive tutorial on how to cook a ROM.
I've poked around in the kitchen threads but have gotten kind of lost and overwhelmed. It seems like information is so scattered around.
I've been looking for a project to do for awhile and have thought that ROM cooking might be kinda fun. Initially, I'd just like to make something with the features I want but who knows where it might go. I think I've tried every TP2 ROM on XDA-Developers now and, while I've found some excellent ones, nothing that quite screams "this is EXACTLY what I want".
So...yeah...a good "how-to" would be excellent and I'd be forever grateful.
FWIW, I'd be happy to do some trade-work in exchange for this. I've got a pretty decent technical skill set...just not one involving ROM cooking.
Same here.. I'm stuck on getting a build to use.. Looking for a good NAM build : Tilt2 stock or something for Tilt2 will be a good start..
My first attempt is with the Eruvius Visual kitchen. I think I got all the required files. There were multiple download links in the original thread. I'm guessing that I get the older version and replace the latest kitchen .exe on top.
I'd love to try to cook my own ROM. I agree that the information seems sparse and kinda scattered. My cursory browsing very much gives the vibe that information for Touch Pro 2 ROM Development has an unspoken understanding that you've made ROMs before. Not me.
I'd love a simple step-by-step tutorial (for rhodium), cause I'd like to build a simple ROM based on the latest 5.5.3/5, without manila...

Fastest X1 ROM out there?

Hi
What custom ROM would you say is the fastest one out there. Does not matter if its 6.1 or 6.5, just need it to be fast.
Many thanks
826x or dynamics 2.0 any of these i'm currently using 826x latest build and it is blazing fast xD
how about "test them yourself?!"
and how about "ask in the right forum?!" this isn't exactly a dev-related question.
oh, and the fastest rom with what? with sense? without? bare-rom? or do you want applications installed? questions like "which is the fastest?" are pretty useless. or the best. or the most stable.
and above all, they're just plain lazy!
just go and flash the roms that are actively developed. there aren't that many left these days. noone knows how you use your phone and you don't know how other people use their phones. or how many roms they've tried before saying "this is the best".
Well
If you want fast for X1 stay with the original ROM (6.1). It was design for this device so you will get the least bugs and SOD's.
As for me I used Energy and couple other ones, they were OK but after having my device replaced I never got back to flash custom ROM.
I heard 826x is good and so is Dynamics 2.0 (this Dynamics will be releasing new ROM soon...so he said).
@caliban2
I thought this was user friendly forum there is no need for your replay like that.
I agree that every one is using their device different way, but can you image what would happen if people would not voice their opinion? This world would go to crapper dude.
Every opinion counts and maybe you are tech savvy, not every one is, and even you were not born that way, you had to ask questions. Right?
We all make mistakes as some point in our lives, little pointers the right directions are good, but comments like yours don't make friends.
Also I though that in order to ask question in dev forum you need to be some sort of level (like 10 post or something like that).
Like the old saying goes "If you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all."

wrong.
i had to search & read a lot before becoming the 47th person asking the same question again - i think there's something in the rules about that. and how many "best rom/fastest rom"-threads are there now? aren't those in general / q&a section enough? and don't tell me this thread has anything to do with if someone's "tech-savvy"...
but hey, if you guys are happy going through the same topic over and over again - have fun!

Thank you, see was that so hard?
P.S.
As new ROMs are being create "the same topics" are not exactly the same...like ford is not the same this year as it was couple of years back....or even last year.
good thing is:
i don't get any of the bugs reported in here. but then, i'm not really running the same rom.

Does this look familiar? If last year ROMs are as good as this year, why are you using ultrashot kitchen to create new ROM?
Why Energy is updating his every few days?
Why not use jerpelea last years kitchen?
See my point?
in my opinion best custom ROM for X1 is gtrab's SEX1 Pure ROM
It's WM6.5 with Titanium and all XPeria stuff (without Sense). Zero weird customizations, just OS upgrade from WM6.1 to WM6.5.

don't get condescending. i don't think i need your permission or approval, hm?
it ain't hard at all. but at least keep it in the right forum, not dev.
why am i using dynamic-kitchen? because itje stopped cooking, i was using ervius kitchen after that and when ultrashot released his, he made it easy for me to make the switch to osbuilder.
you see? has nothing to do with "last years roms are still good". where did i say that anyway? but what's strange is that in these "best rom"-threads always very old roms are recommended: gtrab stopped cooking a long time ago, and now even stock is good?!
for the rest it simply comes down to personal taste. and how stable a rom is. so, what does it tell you if i say "in the past 2 years i never had a stable rom from agent47, gtrab, nrg or 826x etc. only itje and ultrashot made everyday-roms"?
right, it tells you nothing. because your experience and demands are different. also, saying "this is the best rom of them all" is quite demeaning to all the other cooks which provide you with a choice, don't you think?
but to keep with the thread:
from reading the last few pages of the active rom-threads, it looks like dynamics is the most stable combined with the latest software. 826x-series seems also fast and stable. oh, wait. now it's down again to personal taste, right?

Heheh...you are funny.
Thanks guys for taking the time to reply to my question. And yes, maybe the question was not clear enough when i wrote it for some people.
I am looking for the fastest custom, dont need any preinstalled programs or any fancy things. Its gonna be used on a device to remote control the PC, so the only thing i will be needing is a VNC program, and that i can download by myself.
I actually searched the forums for a related topic before i started this one, and could not find any that was up to date enough. This topic is not like the other ones where people ask "whats the best rom", i am looking for a specific thing in the rom, it needs to be fast.
Anyhow, thanks for the tips for those that replied.
@caliban2, I am looking for other peoples opinons on what they think the fastest rom is, that is one of the things a forum is for, to hear other peoples opinons. Yes, i can test every single rom out there, but i thing its just better to check with the people more involved in the recent roms out there, thus this sub-forum.
that's indeed a different approach... ^^
sounds like you need just a fast barebone phone, with no fancy stuff at all and as much free resources as possible. in that case i think stockrom should be the best choice. winmo 6.1 is less demanding than 6.5, performance-wise.
so either stock or find an old custom-rom from 6.1-era (year 2009; there were a few, gtrab did such stuff and agent47 had one as well, iirc), where most apps were removed and nothing from htc has been added. you could also dump stockrom, remove stuff you don't need and re-cook your own barebone.
and of course, you can always go for a more recent 6.5-barebone, but 6.1 should be the optimum.
well a really fast ROM would be one running a bare WM6.1 or 6.5.x
you could try PURE. his ROMs are very minimalistic and emphasize on speed and functionality. and in my opinion they are very stable too. dont expect TF3D or sense though.
even ENERGY has very minimalistic ROMs. and since he has skinned various versions, u can choose the best one for you.
check these links out and see which u like.

alternately there's another thread i replied too. u may check it out to see if it helps as somebody else asked a similar question to you.

some people just get frustrated and angry sitting whole day long in front of their PC´s and phones it seems. Its a simple question and im here because i have also the same question. Someone whith a brain would start answering wit firts 6.5 or 6.5.3, of course bare , and which one is the fastest. Fast comes from speed and can be interpreted as a lack of delay or retardness, also. Anyhow if you want to give usefull answers or help with your knowledge then proof showing your angor to some real people ine real life.
Best Rom is Dynamics 2.1.
Best ROM
In my opinnion it is the x826 ROM. Before this rom is used the Energy Rom but, batterie life is not good with this rom, so I installed x826 ROM, it was faster, and more batterie friendly and I never had any error or freeze.
In my opinnion it is the x826 ROM
826x and happy camper. Been using it for about 2 months and it's working just fine for me.
i think official rom the best but energyRom and 826x is nice rom too,,,,
I tried almost every rom.but the best in speed with good programs is dynamics 2.2.0...u must forget about sense, the best with sense is 826x but have some problems.energy is full of useless programs
