EDIT: DOES NOT WORK FOR 1.1
Ok so here is my first shot at a theme.
I've done some image editing on this, but mainly its a compilation of stuff from other themes on this site.
Flash at your own risk/do a nandroid backup!
How-to Theme Development
And NpRussell for making this rom
And Oshaka for making .jar's easy to edit
And the themes I borrowed from:
Luminescence by Amoredraven
Blue_Haze by Cloverdale
And Enoch's theme, which I can't find atm.
So go send those people some love
And of course
hTC

Oops, to help clear it up, its using Home++, which is a home replacement app, in beta on the market
Works with the Hero? Vanillian might be hero-only tho... still, does it? Looks sweet!

Thanks.
I think the .jar edits would cause it to bootloop, but I'll have a look and see.
But only for vanilla roms, nothing with sense
This theme work with CyanogenMod v1.0 ROM?
Is the file corrupt?
Ive downloaded it and attempted to extract the files to view exactly whats been changed but it wont extract correctly?
are this really for htc hero? after i install & reboot but the btm scrolling icon was not there.
It may well be solely for the VanillainROM, which is in my sig.
It depends exactly what's been changed and where.
Good to see someone theming my roms anyway

Will this work on my CDMA Hero w/ an AOSP 2.0.1 ROM?
I saw on the android theme forum found here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591329 ) that you can download an app called metamorph from the market and it can skin anything. For instance, you can use metamorph and use a launcher.apk and it will skin the launcher. Is this possible to do on our vogue androids?
If you're running a deodexed Android rom on either EXT2 or NAND, Metamorphing will work relatively decently. There are however some caveats. Most of the time a full Metamorph won't take as many of the current metamorphs are catering towards CyangenMod apks and frameworks.

I am happy to report back that it works thanks myn. However, when I applied the hero theme package found on the link above I kept getting all these errors and force closes and all my widgets just said problem loading widgets, so I reset the phone and reinstalled all my widgets and it worked like a charm! And everything runs as smoothly as it did before. I used the hero theme zip amd it changed the boot animation, launcher, browser exc... again thank you myn for all your help and youR near perfect build!
I've mentioned this before, but odexed or non odexed doesn't make a difference with metamorph.

Well first..READ ALL BOLDED AREAS!!! lol
So..I decided to put this together..just a little mix of themes that I was runnin' includin' my ADW Suave Sense launcher. This is a Sense lookin' mix for those who like the whole sense look deal. Comes with black bar like in Sense Roms.
HOW TO METAMORPH THESE FILES:
Go into the Android Market, and search for Metamorph, and then download and install. Once it's done installing, open Metamorph, and it will ask to do some checks and when the Superuser Permissions come up, click Allow, making sure that 'Remember' is checked on...once that is done, just press on 'Unzip/Extract new theme' and navigate to where you downloaded the file. Click on the zip file, and then it should unzip it for you automatically. Click 'Close' on the pop up, and then click on 'Apply All!' which should appear on the bottom right button, then just wait for it to do its thing. If a warning comes up about the framework edit, just hit continue. Once you press the home button, as is usual of metamorph edits, there will be a brief pause and black screen while the page reloads, and it should be done. Hope I explained it well for you. Let me know if you have any problems.
Well, here you go! Enjoy!
IF YOU ARE USING A CM BASED ROM To change the color of the clock/date/network/notifications, you can do so in Spare Parts. For other roms, you'll probably have black text..lol

It should work for it. Why did you think it wouldn't work. It's a metamorph file for any eclair MDPI rom as the title says in the OP..go ahead and try it out!
I figured it would work its just you mentioned for any other ROM, use CM ROM ... I guess that was a joke that went over my head, lol! Thanks! Ill try it out a little later.
for anyone who downloaded it before, download link again...forgot to add full black bar earlier. hehe Updated link now in OP with it. enjoy!
I'm at work...
...so I will morph as soon as I get home. Looks promising. I'm assuming your using sense 2.1 icons, right?

oops.. figured out that it works if I just have stock CM5.0.7.. not compatible with themes, apparently.. nice skin, but its not worth not being able to have a theme.. also, I like LauncherPro better than ADW b/c of the pinch-to-zoom feature.. no offense

i'm stuck on my g1 too! Runnin' this now with an Super E v1.01. You should try it if you're into HTC Sense and are runnin' an Eclair Rom..I like it! lol..but then again, that might be a bit biased. lol
Since CM7 now is more or less stable for daily use, I think it's time we have some CM7 themes to dress up the phone? Most if not all themes currently available is exclusively for the Modaco ROM. It would be greatly appreciated by me and the lot of CM7 users (Believe me, we are quite a few ) if these themes are ported to CM7 and also, if new themes are also done. I understand CM7 is not even in RC stages yet but as I have read, there have been RC's that have been less stable than current O2X Nightlies. I also tried Theme Choose themes and they do not tailored for the O2X screen size and they appear odd.
I do not expect them to turn up overnight but some slow progress would be indefinitely better than no progress. That's all I'm saying. Thank you for your time.
yes, theme chooser is a nice feature, but the problem is this themes don´t contain everything shown in framework ...
i think it will be better to "old school" theme framework-res.apk & SystemUI.apk for a better look !
