Hello all!!!
Iam sorry for new thread alocation, but I cant find any new rom (build) with old user interface (I mean classic TouchFlo3D which is included with official ROM). I bought second HD for my girlfriend, which has stock rom... Its amazingly speedy a smooth (on the side of UI - TouchFlo3D) but I completly dislike Win.Mob.6.1...
Can anybody help or assist me?
Have a good day!
Thanx in advance to any response.
The Sense 2.1 is the new name for the TouchFlo3D.
...As far as I know...
The new name for the stock manila is manila 2.0 i believe.
2.1 is already with the colored icons (and weather).
However the smoothness of the UI is strongly related to the windows mobile version. So an old UI with wm6.5 will be slower then your girlfriends one .
I don't believe any of the chefs makes a new wm with the old manila, it's always vice versa!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=616294 Try this one, this rom has manila 2.1

You cant get the original tf3d for wm 6.5. youll have to settle for v2 or 2.1 (2.1 is the most common). the wm6.5 topix ROMs are supposed to be fast for windows mobile.
So I will try BLACKSTONEhenge (thanx for the link) I had 2.1/2.5 Sense, with 6.5/6.5.3 now with 6.1 I have TouchFlo3D 1.3.37395.0_1630.38 which is so speedy... I have in my hands Topay (Diamond 2) which has the same HW as our device, why Sense 2.5 is so speedy on this device while on our devices is so laggy and slow? Any one can answer this basic question?
I think if you use a COM2 build Sense 2.5 with WVGA-tweak will run as fast and smooth as on the Topaz.
Sense 2.5 was still intended to be Snapdragon-exclusive.
So footprints, landscape-pics etc... will maybe never work perfectly smooth.

hey guys,
is there a rom like the one from the touch pro2, with WM6.5 and HTC Sence that is stock like?
which build has the RTM?
i want that my touch hd runs as smooth as the touch pro 2 from a friend of me. its with original 6.5 firmware and the speed is really very impressive, like on the old XDAs with 320x240...

i've seen this release already, but this is manila, not sense.
touchflo was called manila till 2.1, since 2.5 its sense, isn't it?
i'll miss the programm shortcuts on the mail screen.
a few minutes ago i saw a post, where someone mentioned that WM 6.1 with sense 2.5 would be very performant like the touch pro 2. is anyone in here who could confirm that?
i want to flash a hd2 or touchpro2 stock rom :-D
sorry if i got you wrong; however, there actually IS a manila version called sense 2.1. it's the one with the weather displayed on the clock.
the touchpro2 stock rom has this version of htc sense (and kwbr released it for HD)
sense 2.5 (shortcuts on home) is meant for 1ghz cpu and thus it will never, ever, be as fast as in a HD2.
win6.1 + sense2.5 = no go as many features of sense 2.5 are heavily dependant on some wm6.5-specific updates
Yes, the Manila 2.1 version in the official Rhodium update is called HTC Sense. The closest to this Miri V30, Dutty R15, Dutty Holy Grail Man 2.1, and KBWR Topix 3.0.2
thank you guys, now i'am actually trying the topix 3.1.2...
runs very very fast and stable! thats like our mobiles have to work!
but i miss the weather and the program shortcuts on the main screen :-(

yes, Im kinda in this situation as well.
while enjoying the speed of sense 2.1, missing the weather and river flow pic album. Wonder why they don't put the weather animations in the weather tab. If they can display fine in homepage, surely they can show ok in the weather tab.

why dont vw put a v12 engine in a polo if they can put in a veyron? lol short answer, if they made every manila the same no1 would have any reason to buy a new and more expensive device
I know this is a loong shot but can't manila or sense be modified ?? like we take out some cabs from a ROM and make a new ROM, can't similar thing be done with manila/sense? take out the tabs we like and put in a new manila!!
Okay, I have spent the past 2 months evaluating user feedback about the various wonderful and sekcy ROMs the wonderful chefs here have cooked for us - but being a n00b in this field I am totally CONFUSED!
I need help from you guys to suggest a custom ROM which should have the following features:
WM 6.5
MaxManila 2.6
X2: Dialer, Panel Manager etc. etc.
Facebook App
Should be stable, speedy and bug-free
ActiveSync should work
Can anyone suggest which ROMs to try out?
If you are a noob I would probably recommend you stay away from 6.5 builds and manila 2.5 type ROMS.
They are still pretty buggy and error prone. I have recently tried some, Untamed (manila 2.1) and EnergyROM( both manila 2.1 and 2.5 versions), but have reverted back to TouchX 10.1 because it is fast, stable, and compatible with X2 add-ons (except Myriad Java didn't seem to play nice).
If you want to give them a shot I think EnergyROM is the flashiest, and if you get the LEO version with the 28XXX core it will look fabulous. I flashed my girlfriends HTC Pure with EnergyROM and she likes it a lot, but it is much more stable on HTC Pure than on Xperia.
I'll say, though, that if functionality is more important than looks, get TouchX (or one of it's variants, there is an X2 one available). It is WM 6.1 (which is admittedly a little ugly) and it is not going to be 2.5, but that means it will work well in landscape, and be super-stable.
BTW, ActiveSync always works. And facebook app works on everything, just install it.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Hannigan! I think I'll have to do quite a few experiments before I get the ROM I like. I'll try out both EnergyROM and TouchX versions and finally stick with the one I like.
Hi,
I've just upgraded to the TD2 from the original TD (which I had modded with various useful apps), but now I require some help with the TD2.
I don't really understand the often mentioned Manilla modification.
Is it a complete ROM update which will replace the WM 6.5 update along with its HTC Sense interface?
Am I correct in thinking that the HTC sense in the TD2 is different from the Sense in the HD2? This is how I'm reading it in the forums.
If this is the case will the MaxManilla update (ROM rewrite?) work still.
Basically I really need to have the calendar on the home screen to display the next appointments, whether they are from the next day or further down the week/month. It's really very frustrating that it only shows the current and next days appointments. It'd also be useful if it showed the tasks (if they're active) too.
Cheers in advance.
/R
Hi im pretty new to the phone wel been using it for a month and I might be able to help you out.
Most roms now run on sense 2.5 which is the roms for td2(aka Topaz) based off of the HD2(aka Leo) it has most functions which run on the leo also max manilla is basically for customizing the look of the interface and yes when you flash your device will be wiped and reinstalled with useful applications and programs just like when you first bought it
manila/sense vs maxmanila
Manila is the core system file known as HTC Sense - you can't install this from a .cab [for now], that's why any upgrade to manila is directly implemented in ROM [ROM rebuild > flash ROM]
MaxManilla is an application designed to customize Manila
-= for now =-
if you want to upgrade manila / sense, you can't unless you reflash your rom
if you want to upgrade maxmanila, that's ok, but that doesn't mean you upgrade the manila core
I started this thread because I see much 6.5 ROMS right now. Some of you (atleast me) wanting a 6.1 ROM. You can also have a ROM with LEO or TF3D.
Discuss here and maybe the ROM developers can make it easier.
Greetz,
Win mo 6.5 with Rhodium manila 2.1
i really like WM 6.5.3 one with TF3D (the new one from Rhodium)...
xperia with windows mobile 6.5, without touchflo. fast&stable !
6.1 is pretty fast, but Titanium has everything I need, so 6.5 it is.
another useless thread lol ... you can cook any rom you like by yourself and you can't force chef to cook the rom they do not want!

You got a point there, but developers can see which ROM the X1 users would prefer.
For me: WMobile 6.1 + TF3D

some chefs cook rom from their own personal taste and just shares it to people
6.1
vietdoan20062006
6.1
6.5 is cool, but 6.1 is definitely faster on X1 (regardless of whether you use TF3D or no), so ... 6.1
Switched back to stock 6.1 because this is the fastest ROM.
Currently WM6.1 with SPB mobileshell. Superfast is the only reason. Like 6.5 more tho, but havnt found any good cook yet. All 6.5 cooks is buggy, hangs, SOD etc. etc..
Clean 6.5 cook with _SPEED_ would be nice, then I can install whatever I want
Maybe this thread could be both discussion of wich ver. to use, show current, help etc.?
See attached for my xperia. MrRusch NUTS 6.1 rom with SPB mobile shell.

I have tried several WM6.5 ROMs like Christians Clean, X1.5, Infinite, Pure, Energy, 826X...
They are all quite fast, but compared to the stock ROM the UI is VERY SLOW!!!
My HTC Wizard with a 200 MHz CPU and [ROM][WM6.5.x][6.5.1.7 - 23085][6.5.0.2 - 21869][Clean] - MSD Series >> 4-Nov-2009 has a much faster responding UI.
WHY??? The X1 has a 528 MHZ CPU!
Is it caused by the high resolution display of the X1 with a 4 X higher resolution?
Or does all WM6.5 ROMs use other (slower) system drivers instead of the 6.1 stock rom ones?

According to your Signature you are also running Nuts so you should know?
Well, im not using tochflo at all, disabled everything as "Today" and running SPB on top of that.
I discovered that stability and speed is most important for me. So, WM 6.1. I also install Mobile Shell for fingerfriendly UI and FingerSuite.v1.12rc8 for fingerfriendly menu's. TF3D is only an eyecandy for me. Mobile Shell is better for me, because it is faster and customizable. I install some fingerfriendly software and Xperia is ready to use.
I go for coolness and usefullness rather than speed. I do not want to go back to WM6.1 ever again... I recently had a customer with a 6.1 ROM and OMG, it's so old and hard to use/configure compared to 6.5.5
I kept trying WM 6.5 over and over but.. It's just too slow!
Switched back to PCTech4u, best WM 6.1 rom out there.
You're wrong, THIS is the best WinMo 6.1 ROM.
Is there a Kitchen available that is wm6.5 with manila 2.5. I tried to port it but I keep getting errors in the rom,(all I get is the todayscreen with no other tabs and no soft buttons)( or manila 2.5 doesn't load at all) I dont know how to fix this so I am asking if anyone has a kitchen or knows where I can get one with wm 6.5 not 6.5.x with manila 2.5
I am confused by your request - if am not misunderstanding you, then just download OsKitchenZero by airextreme, import the stock 2.07 Rhodium Rom, and you have your kitchen with manile 2.5 and normal 6.5. Thats how I started but have imported a 6.5.x build and rebased to that. Very happy.

Dosen't the Rhodium 2.07 have manila 2.1, I am trying to get the manila from hd2
Nope, it came with Manila build 2012. (Which is 2.5 as far as I know)
I have found that all the later ones from the HD2 that have the extended tabs use up a lot of memory when run with Cookie Home Tab. (if that is what you are after then that is a later build of 2.5 and I do not think it exists natively on the Rhodium - obviously it can and has been cooked in Rhodium ROMS, but was not meant for it.)
I have found that running Manila 2012, with Cookie Home Tab 1.6.1 and disabling tabs I do not use (music, internet, stocks,Photos - I mean I just run Opera or S2P from the quicklinks - dont need a tab) gives a faster and more reliable system. I have found the memory management on 23569 when combined with manila to be excellent. My phone idles at around 30-35% free and regains memory when you close apps.
I have also inserted the HTC messaging 1.8 (from build 2015) in the mix as well, works fine).
WOW I feel like the guy who just wlaked out of the stall with a string of tolit paper stuck to the bottem of his shoe:S

sorry - not my intention. justt trying to share what little experience i have.
i could never get all the roms with all the nice eye candy to work consistently enough and be stable over say 3 to 4 days for me to be happy.i would still recomend air extremes kitchen, then follow his link for the latest leo packages, and upgrade to the manila you want that way.

crazyC, There are some excellent ROMS out there but they just aren't quite my flavor so I've decided it's time to cook my own. I just ran into this post (i know a little late) but i was hoping you'd answer the following since you have exactly what i wanted to build.
1. The most stable stock Rom i found for my phone is the ASIA 6.5, is this the same one you started your Kitchen from?
2. When you added the 1.8 HTC messaging client did you have to upgrade some of the other Sense packages too or just the client.
Thanks...
