Hi,
Can someone help me with this error? While flashing Amon's recovery I get the below error.
sending 'recovery' (33 KB)... OKAY
writing 'recovery'... FAILED (remote: image error! (BootMagic check fail))
I have successfully unlocked my bootloader and rooted my Nexus One. Any help is appreciated.

Your download is corrupt. The recovery partition is far bigger than 33k
I recently had the same problem, hence why I found this post...
I had right clicked on Amon's link to download and also had a 33kb file. Make sure to follow the link and download from RapidShare.
Hope this helps
hello, i did get more than 33kb (24960 KB to be exact) but still get the same message

thanks for the help in advance.
sorry...found the problem...please ignore. thanks

Look closely at the 2 parts I've underlined. I hope you'll see the error. In case you don't - just look if they're the same word.
Wow. That is a huge and scary mistake, what if they had it the other way around and flashed the recovery to the radio. Yikes! Instant broken phone, and all because of a lack of understanding of what is actually going on.
I once saw a guy get hit by a car. I tried to put him in the recovery position, but put him in the radio position instead. Needless to say, he wasn't pleased... xD
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
The good thing is that fastboot checks for image integrity, and it would probably stop and not allow overwriting radio with different partition.

Hi Guys, im having the same issue with my HOXL.
I read ur post and see the file should be bigger?
I downloaded TWRP from their download page, from the link on an XDA thread.
And its actually the same place i got it from last time, and that time it worked.

I was flashing a new rom onto my HTC One today and my daughter got hold of it (Age 3) whilst my back was turned and has wiped the ROM completely!
I have TWRP v2.7.1.1 touch bootloader but I cant get a ROM installed - fastboot won't recognise that there is a device attached even though I get the 'connected sound' when I connect to my windows 8 laptop. I have searched for all the fastboot and adb solutions but have come to a dead end!
I think its dead! :crying:
Fastboot usb shows on the phone screen when connected though
the OS - on the fastboot screen shows blank too!

lol if you have a working recovery then your device is not bricked. Even if your recovery is broken if you can access the bootloader your device is still fine.
It sounds to me like you are having some trouble with the windows drivers.. if you have a pc with linux I would try it there as it is easier. or if you only have win8 then you have to install these drivers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544146
btw what problem do you have when installing the rom via recovery?

Any thoughts?

sorry, i don't follow. it has nothing to do with s-on or s-off.
you say your device isn't being seen while in custom recovery, but it has to show somewhere in device manager, no? if yes, then you may need to manually select the correct drivers, that's it

you really shouldn't downgrade unless you know what you are doing.

Yes, they are synonyms. I would install Motorola Device Manager to your PC and let it attempt to repair your phone.

If you are only trying to flash small sparsechunks, have you tried flashing using the latest version of fastboot from Root Junky's site?

No I mean, connect your phone to your PC when you are in TWRP. Then open a command window. Then navigate to where adb.exe is stored - i.e, at the command prompt type in cd c:\[fill in the directory where adb.exe is stored]
then when you are at the proper directory, at the command prompt in the command window type:
adb devices
then hit enter.
It should return the serial number of your device.

You can't flash TWRP to the recovery partition on the Xperia Z. It doesn't use the recovery partition; instead, it uses the FOTAKernel partition, which is inaccessible by Fastboot. If you want to destroy your old stock firmware and install custom ROM, flash TWRP to boot partition. The phone should not boot to the firmware and boots straight to TWRP.
