Battery cover / Zagg sheild warning.. - HD2 Accessories

I purchased a Zagg sheild thing for my HD2...
I applied it, then after an hour decided to reapply the battery cover one as i wasnt quite happy with the positioning... Upon removing it - it pulls off bits of the brushed effect off the back, doesn't look nice..
I wondering - anyone know where i can find a replacement battery cover, cant for the life of me find one..

omg
i was gonna get zagg sheild
but it looks liek it destorys the phone

Only the battery cover bit, the top two bits are fine..
Guess due to how strong the Zagg attachs when let dry for a bit, means on removal it'll pull up the brushed effect slightly.
I REALLY want a replacement back cover - and i'll just use a soft gel case from now on.

Excuse me, but why do you need invisible shield for HD2? The screen is scratchless, even if you scratch it somehow to damage the glass, invisible shield won't help. the back cover is made of true high quality metal. only parts u can damage is the soft-touch ones. use a case? i used invisible shield on my HD, man while it did save the device it made it look awful, VERY AWFUL. i'll never buy invisible shield for hd2 to make it look ugly and like a 4.99$ chinese toy. case(leather/or whatever) ftw!

I would actually make a complaint to Zagg about their products. They are supposed to be "easily" removed without damaging your phone - FFS its there to protect your phone.
They should foot the bill for a new rear cover IMO!

I'm using Zagg Invisible shield for my HD2 at the moment. It's very good protector. I also experienced some difficulties when putting the protector on my battery cover. I tried about 3 times and many bubbles still there. I gave up and thought that invisible shield was not good. 3 hours later I peel the invisible shield from my battery cover. It's quite hard to pull because it's very sticky but fortunately it didn't scratch my battery cover at all. I made the invisible shield for battery cover very wet and put it again. This time it stick very very good, no bubbles at all..
1 suggestion when installing invisible shield : Make the invisible shield very wet so you won't get any bubbles.

Thanks for the comments about this product, I VERY nearly bought one of these for my HD2, I am now thankful that i didn't!!

damn, i already bought one...
but, hey^^, i try it, when its not so nice i send it back xD

How do you feel on the X1 Invisible Shield??

Hello everyone~ I just bought my X1 and I am thinking of using the Invisible Shield. I realize that installing the Invisible Shield will have to spray something like water on the phone. Is it safe?? And how is your opinion on using it?? Or if you have other suggestion??
Thank you very much~~
The invisible shield is very stretchable and it gives a rubbery feel to your phone when felt. When applied to the phone, the brushed metal effect will be covered. And when you spray the solution on the shield, not the phone. Applying the shield is challenging though. If you want to see how stretchy the invisible shield, go youtyube to find out. There's videos. And when you aply the shield, really try not to stretch the shield. The screen shield will fit really nice. You've been warned.
Ive had the invisible shield on the X1 for a month, now.
I have to say, im not totally impressed, and have already removed several parts of it.
The material it is made from is brilliant. Does exactly what it says it does.
I dont have any marks on the screen, whatsoever. I originally had a cheaper screen protector on, and after 3 weeks, it was a mess of scratches.
So, If ZAGG could improve the fitting of the kit, so it covers a little better, i would give it top marks, but, for now, i think it needs improving.
I am waiting for my invisibleshield, screen only, i have my xperia since 3 weeks now and i have 2 tiny scratches on the screen, border area, want to install the shield before it's too late !!!
I already used invisible shield on my K800i and my Nikon camera, they are GREAT...
anyoen got pics with the invisishield on? i just did mine and it looks horrible...im not sure if its dust or the adhesive drying..see a lot of white spotss

not invisible then, at least at first, what about later, is it really invisible?
i heard that invisible shield changes color after certain amount of time. i mean it stains from sun lights and other stuff.
Oxidation, maybe. I had one pasted on my SE G700 B.E using SE G900 screen as the company did not come out G700 version... The person did it badly on my screen, overstretched a little and now the whole shield yellows. But it still looks good on my screen. My PSP and my X1 did not suffer "oxidation" most probably due to good application.

I have the bodygaurdz version, of which I'm guessing that the invisishield is using the same materials.
the screen protector part is invisible, probably the best screen protector ever, and I had a harder plastic type before. also, the back battery cover it's virtually invisible, if applied correctly. it took a few days for it to become super clear. the unfortunate part, is the chrome part, since the chrome is so smooth, it didn't come out as nice, and putting it in a plastic case, or in a holder will make little smudges, (which pretty much buffs out).
I'm happy so far, but I'm guessing on a smooth phone like an iphone, this thing would be badass. for the xperia, w/ all the small pieces, it's not as "smooth" looking, but the increase in grip has prevented me from dropping the phone.
DO NOT BUY INVISIBLE SHIELD FOR X1. I've had a bad experience with it and this experience (and others) is outlined in this forum here:
http://www.inxperia.com/forums/accessories/527-do-not-waste-your-money-invisible-shield.html
I have a Martin Fields protector and it's very good so far. It does collect fingerprints a bit but most do so that doesn't worry me. Also it's made of PET so it doesn't lose colour in sunlight, I think. Yellowing in other plastics is caused by UV breakdown of the polymer. There is a surface treatment that can mitigate the effect but I doubt a $2 screen protector would hace that.
I'll just add I had a look at n4v1n's link and the invisible shield does seem to be a problem for the X1 since the "Sony Ericsson" and "XPERIA" logos are printed onto the metal, which makes them vulnerable. This doesn't apply to the screen, of course, but I fail to see what's wrong with standard adhesive methods which use a type of silicone, I believe, that sticks very well and will leave no residue on the screen should it need to be removed. I applied mine at my work (which has no carpets) and that worked very well. Previously I'd done the job at home and some small dust mote always got on there, despite my best efforts. Overall I think it's inadvisable to attatch anything to the device on those two areas, whatever method of adhesion it uses.
My screen protector from zagg was crap. It wasn't even cut right it was bigger than my x1's screen :\
finally dropped my phone (well, it fell out of my old tilt holder while I was running down stairs after my dog).
the bodyguardz protected real well, except for the tiny part of the corner that was exposed. I guess I'm impressed, yet yealize that they should make the corners one piece instead of having different parts meet at the corner.

What do you use to protect your X1

Has anyone got the full body shield for your X1? Just I think the X1 is quite a stretchable phone compares to many others I have used, so am thinking of buying a full body shield, good idea? What do you used to protect your X1?
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
Here is the link
PS I have of course got a screen protector already.
One of the things that distingiush the X1 from other smartphones is beautiful, original design combined with a solid, lasting structure - at least that's what I've experienced so far . So putting it in some kind of bodyshield would be kinda like hiding a piece of art in a safe just cause it's valuable - it misses the point completely.
That's just my opinion though.
EDIT: I just use a screen protection myself, but different from Invisible Shield - it's made of polycarbonate and honestly it workes great for me.
a sock
no screen protction
i use a sock too
i got a body protector from ebay that never scratches or peels it cost me $20 but it was worth it
I'm thinking of those plastic/rubbery shields with designs for additional protection. and it will hide those unslightly marks. Do you think its worth it? anyone tried it? Saw a store offering it for $35-40, they'll be the one to fit it in
I tried a variety of 2-piece protectors, hard plastic, silicone, thicker flexible plastic... I wouldn't bother. The silicone ones would come apart as the phone came out of the pocket, the hard plastic felt ugly (& didn't protect much - if the phone fell, the pieces would pop off with the impact)
So, don't go there... use a clear screen protector, NOT a Zagg-style one, though the Zagg body is a good idea. With hindsight, I would have used a body shield like that.
There are cheaper alternatives to Zagg, but check build quality first
$24.99 for a slip of thin 'plastic'?? (or whatever material its made out of)
...Wow. I think a more suitable and affordable price for a screen protector would be ~ $15.00. But quite interesting to see this
Unfortunately, I did not protect my X1 as I should have. Ordered a genuine leather pouch, but no screen protector. Ordered a black housing, but I really dont trust myself opening it. Opening a cell phone compared to a PSP to change the housing is quite different..
I got one of those cheap "netbook protectors" ($2) from a local store. Cut it out to shape for the battery cover which is pretty much what is scratch prone for my phone. By the way, my phone is originally black but it the paint is scratched I decided to remove all of them. I used a dish scouring pad (the plastic one NOT steel wool or something) to slowly scrape off the paint without removing the XPERIA print Now it's gunmetal colored + glossy because of the transparent "skin".
Xperia protection
I've tried em all. True. Those two piece units, whether silicon or plastic make the phone too bulky and don't stay on worth a damn. I switched to adhesive skins to protect the casing from scratches to increase resale value. It is pretty much always in a leather pouch or in a holder on my dashboard when using as GPS. (Also good protection: a large rottweiler.)

you should be able to get one in any mobile accessory shop. however, if you are worried if the sensitivity of your touch screen will be affected, head down to a sony ericsson dealer and they should be able to hook you up with a decent one.
in fairness, 2 years with the phone, ive never used a screen protector, and used daily...and i dont hv a scratch on my screen, despite hundreds of drops on everything from tarred roads to timber floor. however a couple dollars wouldnt hurt ur pocket if u wanna get one.
i use the invisible shield the first post shows =) best i think

Invisible Shield

hey there,
ive searched in the "cases" thread but i havent found a solution. I think ill buy an invisible shield full body protection from zagg. for my hd2. Is this a good choice? It costs a lot of money.. is it stabile enough for 3 years without bubbles etc.?
And could pleaase someone who already has it on his HD2 upload a pic of it.. how it looks on the front and especially the back (NOW IT SHOULD BE GLOSSY) side? Please! Thanks in advance!
or if u got any alternative suggestions to invisible shield plz feel free to tell me
this thread will give you reqd info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=580951
sorry looked through the whole thread but couldnt find it
i´ve installed the fullbody kit today, and this was very easy.
there is no air bubble or something like this.
the handling of the hd2 is amazing now, because of the better grip.
so a clearly recommendation!
i've had the full body kit on for about 9 weeks, and am very happy with it. feels great to the touch, helps with the sensitivity issue, but doesn't make it un sensitive, looks great on the hd2 (take your time fitting, and use plenty of moisture, ) fits like a lovely glove.
screen protector
I've always used sp's. Tried all different kinds. Put phantomskinz on hd, loved it. Then put it on hd2, seemed ok? Decided to try htc sp300. it was ok, until I installed swype. Noticed I had few more errors? My bud, Agoat, said take it off & try , I did, wow! Now I don't even have to hardly get close to letters to type.Still learning, but nice now. Must have transferred pressure or static? I use Imagnum case, so screen is protected in pocket. I think I'm set? lol Quig

hm? means that if im trying to put the sp (IS) off my metal cover gets damaged? in which way..?
do you have pics of it - how it looks on the back and on the front side with IS?
Phantomskins, not Invisibleshield
Sorry, posted earlier about using invisibleskin, it wasn't, it was phantomskinz, they are great.

I wouldn't put Invisible Sheild on anything it turns brown after a few weeks and makes your device look horrible. Look what it did to my poor Touch Pro. I reccomend a Vikuiti protector and a gel case for a happy HD2.
I bought one. Used it for a day. Removed. Once it hit my pocket, the edge of the shield all had fur or my pockets around it. Quite hard to clean it off. Next, I dun quite like the feeling when i grab the phone with the shield on. Lastly, it it not 100% covered. Makes it look like a half pass job to me. Wont recommend this to my friend.
bought it
Just bought a ZAGG InvisibleSHIELD Full Body protection for my HD2, will put it on and post a responce by today.
I have full body kit for the HD2 that I will not be using due to what I have seen and heard about this screen protector.
Any offers for it? Its unused.
Beware of FULL body
Not sure about just screen, but I had IS for HTC HD, not HD2. But generally speaking - it is about the same when it comes to IS, right ? Now ... I had full-body IS installed by professional in IS kiosk. Yes, they have IS kiosks in malls where they sell IS and also install them. I also tried installing it myself. And I DID take my time installing it and it looked great.
It looked great 1st 3-4 months, but then it started to peel off on corners. Now it looks terrible and I will remove it. I actually tried it 3 times !!! Really !!! Same story. And when you use pouch and frequently take out/insert your phone into it - this IS peels off even faster. Problem is that if some piece starts peeling off ... and you take out and insert your phone in case often ... that peeling becomes worse. Last time I used spare phone to let IS "sit" for a week !!!
Bottomline ... for HD2 I'm NOT planning to buy FULL body. Just IS screen protector - may be. Or some other SP. But not full body. And gel/hard plastic/metal cover. And pouch with clip
May be I'm just unlucky. But 3 times ??? I had HD from Nov 2008 and IS gave me nothing but trouble.
I installed IS for my HD2 since 10 January 2010. I bought the full body from IS website and try to install it myself. For the first time there were a lot of bubbles that couldn't be removed. I thought the bubbles would be fewer if I left it for 1 day, but I was wrong. The bubbles stayed there without any improvement. I peeled it and made the invisible shield very very wet, then paste it on my HD2. I was shocked because the result is very great. No bubbles at all. I just put the screen protector and battery cover protector because I don't like the glossy look on my matte back rubber finish.

Nexus s protection help

Hi everyone so my nexus came in today I'm scared to use it. I need protection for it. Before I purchased nexus s I already had bought 2 cases one is case mate pop and other is incipio. Is any of these cases good for protection or should I buy new one like different brands? And also case mate came with screen protector should i use that or buy invisible shield or ghost Armor? Please help me im so paranoid but wana use my phone asap. Havnt even turned it on yet.
Thanks
From what I've heard the pop case offers very good protection, and theres alot of debate as far as screen protectors go I personally have one, also if your in nyc and for any reason want to get rid of your incipio feather ill take it from you (only if it's black, blue or red)
I'd suggest putting on the full-body skin on the battery cover and use any case you feel like it. The part that got scratches most is the back plastic cover (and yes the "case" itself can create some scratches too)
For the front, it's up to your taste -- you may like it naked or wanna put some screen protector on it.
If you really want absolute protection, get a full body armor and wrap a case around it. The reason is because although cases protect from drops, they often cause unpleasant scuffs or scratches on the bezel as well as the back of the phone because dust/debris gets in. Getting a full body armor will protect against that, and having the case will prevent from drops as well. For the full body armor, I would recommend either Ghost armor or BSE, but not invisible shield. Invisible shield has a lot more orange peel texture than the other two mentioned. For the case itself, it seems that all of them have pretty good reviews here (both hard and soft cases), it all boils down to personal preference. I would definitely put on the screen protector that you have for now. If later down the road you feel like you're comfortable with your phone and that you don't need it, then you can take it off. Please turn on your phone. Congrats.
Do you have the ghost Armor? I'm going to thier booth this morning. I went to invisible shield the girl there did the worst job putting my screen protector.

I have ghost armor. Good quality, perfect fit, less orange peel texture, and they have lifetime exchange. If there's a booth in your location you could do a direct swap without sending it in.

I bought a XOskin screen protector and also their carbon fiber back protector. Used the N10 with the protective film for several days but then removed it. I was thinking about returning the carbon fiber skin beccause it's too smooth compared to the rubberized back of the N10.
After just a few days of usage, what little tackiness the rubberized had is gone and it's fairly slick. I'm not about to clean it with whatever every few days to bring back what little grip it provided. I may slap the carbon fiber skin on after all.
Uh.. I have a hairline scratch in the corner and i still had the factory cover on and babied it. Gorilla glass doesn't protect worth crap.

I decided to raw dog it, too, and see what happens. I've put protectors on every portable device I've had since...well, almost ever. But, when I got a replacement Galaxy Nexus in July, I never got around to putting a protector on the screen. Despite being some off-brand "fortified glass", it's totally unscratched. I take some care to avoid scratching it (nothing else goes in the phone pocket) but I don't carry it in a any kind of case or pouch. Since my Nexus 10 will be treated even more gently (i.e. not living in my pockets), it should be fine without a protector.
If I'm wrong, I'll put a protector on my OLED retina tablet in a couple years.
I've also been using my Galaxy Nexus with "fortified glass" (tempered, but not Corning Gorilla Glass) since the device was released (a year?) with only the 2 part Incipio case that Verizon Wireless sells for it (silicone liner, hard shell around it) - glass completely unprotected. I put the phone in my pocket (pants, shirt, jacket, etc.) every day, use the phone a LOT, have taken it to the beach (generally throw it in a ziplock bag), put it in my backpack, etc, etc. Not single visible scratch on it -- and I'm a stickler for this, as little flaws somehow always manage to grab my attention more than they deserve. Not saying that it's bulletproof by any means - but with reasonable care, my phone with bare glass still looks brand new. The N10 has Gorilla Glass 2 -- again, not impervious, but should hold up quite well to normal wear and tear. I enjoy the bare glass SO much more than the slightly rubbery feel and drag of a protector that it's worth a bit of extra care for me so I can get away with a bare screen.
I have the full body protection. Was a bear to get on, took 2 hours of my time to get all the pieces on and it did not go smoothly. I used to think I was pretty pro at putting wet application protectors on but this is a HUGE device and getting big vinyl film pieces wet and then onto the device without parts folding over and sticking to itself, etc was a night mare. I even messed up the front protector. Loads of bubbles everywhere after over a week. Not BSE's fault at all but I told them of my situation at the same time that I noted my N4 protectors did not have a proximity sensor cut out and they sent me a new full body kit for the n10 for free with my n4 screen protectors. Great customer service!
Can someone who has the full body protector, installed, post some pictures? I would love to see what a device looks like properly installed! I saw the video for XO and they aren't nearly as hard because, well, they aren't really full body protectors. They have one piece that protects the clam shell for the most part in the back but that is it. All corners and sides are completely exposed. Maybe this is good, as there's that nasty edge seem feel from the little individual pieces, but still. If I can't master the full body kit installation this, I'll just rock it with the front screen protector from BSE and order a dry carbon skins back cover from XO. Those dry carbon things are really really easy to install... you can even peel them off and re apply them on another device and it will stay. Loved that type of protector on my Galaxy Nexus. They are not as poor feeling on seams either.
Nevertheless... can someone please post pictures?
