Tilt Rom Question - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I hope I not out of line here but I am about to go crazy. I have read the posts and I am completely lost at this point. I goal was to go from WM 6.1 to WM 6.5.
As per the Noob FAQ I flashed 3.29 on to my phone exactly as the directions stated no problem. After step 3 I did step 4 no problem. At this step is where I am stuck. I have tried to flash the rom vis activesync with no luck.
I run the RUU.exe and it runs fine ask me to update the flash from version 3.29 to 1.00. the files I downloaded the TPC_V11_KAISER_MANIILA.rar and the TPC_V11_KAISER_LOADED.rar and placed them in the same folder as the RUU.exe but not both at the same time.
I have done this step at least 4 times and nothing it is still at WM6.1. I am sure that i am doing some stupid newguy mistake or I am missing something but I am lost. If this is out of line I am sorry to the mods, I am just going crazy.

you are correct to place whatever image needs to be flashed in the same folder as the RUU before running the RUU. you are also correct about avoiding more than one ROM image being present next to the RUU before running the RUU.
the RAR files that you downloaded need to be extracted first (download, install, and use winrar for this purpose). once extracted, the ROM image contained in the RAR file is what should be placed in the same folder as the RUU.
...or you still have something other than the image of the desired ROM in the same folder as the RUU. perhaps the image for the HardSPL is still lurking around in that folder?

Yup you need to extract the rar files using winrar (latest version). It's a .nbh file that you need for the flash, in the same directory as the RUU.exe file.

Thanks guys what a stupid mistake on my end. I flashed the rom and it is working great. I really like this upgrade from my original WM6.1. The only thing I am missing is Office mobile. Thanks for the help

Extracting nk.nbf

Greetings,
How could i extract nk.nbf from the underground WM6 rom.
Because it is needed for all Cid locked G4 and it will be helpful to everybody.
Can anybody tell me how to? I tried searching it but i didnt find any good answer.
Thanks
I think you can just right click and extract it.
You wont see it unless you are able to view hidden files.
You may have to change it from hidden to read only in order to use the file.
Hope im not spoiling anybody's secret.
Hope this helps you.
if you've downloaded a self-extracting exe you can in most cases just rename it to rar and then open the file. Otherwise just get the nk.nbf from the temp directory that the exe is extracted to...
208 error
do i need a seperate application to get NBD 8.3 to extract to phone keep getting 208 file in use error I am noob but succsefully sim and cid unlocked 8125 and have had severall different ROMs on phone. Flashed back to button love ipl/spl and then flashed TMO 2.26 rom and really want to try NBD's latest and hot new ROM any help greatly appreciated. the info on here made me think I had a grip on flashing until I hit this hurdle
This site and the chef's awsome
If you have been successfully uploading several ROMs before the NBD8.3 with the RUU works in the same way.
Included in the rar file there is also a readme explaining pretty much in detail how to run the RUU to install. Moreover you will also find some explaination on the different error codes.
You may want to download the rar file again and have a second try.
File error
Sorry bout that I was not extracting to a folder and then running the RUU that's how I kept getting the error Thanks for your help
it´s simple download the magic program called wizard service tool (WST) by mestrini, you have a icon named nbf actions, press extract nbf open the rom you want, choose the destiny folder and voilá, you have the nbf file extracted, after you haved to cook then! with all you want S.O. radio ipl or spl..

Question about A Herald's Guide to Flashing Aserg, USPL and HARD-SPL

I started a new thread because of the
"If someone doesn´t understand it - even after reading this all - please start a new thread." stated http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358615
I took the read, read, read advise but 1 thing is still not clear to me.
When I download USPL from the link on "A Herald's Guide to Flashing Aserg, USPL and HARD-SPL" and open the .rar file it looks like:
When I downloading a ROM with .nbh file like "Touch-IT v4.4 and 4.41 WWE P4350 (11.jan.08)" and open the .rar file it looks like:
If I understand it correctly I need to extract the complete content of the "Touch-IT v4.4 and 4.41 WWE P4350 (11.jan.08)" .rar file to the RUU folder of the extracted from the USPL file. However if I'm doing this it asks me to overwrite the files already in the folder as these files already exists in the USPL .rar file.
Is safe to do this or do I have to copy the OS.rar and RUU_Signed.nbh only?
Sorry if I've this is already explained somewhere but I've tried to read all the stickies about this subject.
The RUU_signed.nbh is THE rom...
SO if you have to put the rom into the RUU folder of "uspl" then put only the ruu_signed.nbh there.
so:
Flashcenter-USPL --> RUU (folder) place here... the RUU_signed.nbh
Right, so the OS.rar file is there in case you
don't want to use hard or USPL but step III ("Aserg") on " A Herald's Guide to Flashing Aserg, USPL and HARD-SPL" ?
Thanks for the quick reply btw. and maybe I'm sorry for being stupid by not understanding the guide. I'm trying to read everything to understand exactly what I'm doing (and not brick my device..)
If you want to use Aserg's way, you have to get the os.nb. You can extract it from the NBH file using NBHTool.
To use USPL, all you have to do is place the nbh file into the RUU folder or overwrite the files. Either way, it won't hurt. Unless you have an SPL lower than 4.0.0.0. Then it could hurt.
OK, thanks angain for the quick and clear answer

Please help: flashing ROM

I read the wiki and all the other stuff that I was supposed to before I tried to flash a ROM.
I am stuck on a step and could use some help. I downloaded the ROM to my cpu. I noticed it was a .rar file, so i also downloaded winrar so I could open it.
Execute the .exe file you downloaded with the ROM. (If the ROM you downloaded only comes with an nbh file, download the CustomRUU for the Kaiser here. Put KaiserCustomRUU.exe and you nbh in the same directory and run KaiserCustomRUU.exe)

I cant get past this step. Can someone please advise.
don't know why u would get stuck ...
create new folder and place the .nbh and kaisercustomruu.exe in same folder on pc. make sure phone connected to pc via active sync and connection is established (icon turns green in actuve sync). now run the kaisercustomruu.exe from pc and let the action began.
p.s. i do sincerely hope u flashed hardspl onto ur device be4 flashing. don't know what that is? plz stop flashing and read wiki again for ur sake.
People just don't read. Did you try extracting the contents in Winrar to your desktop?
I did the hardspl already.
when i try to extract the folders it asks me for a password.

passwords are usually located on the first or second post of the rom you are trying to flash.
Found it. thanx!
Mod Note: This question should have been posted in the thread specific to the Rom you downloaded in the ROM Development Forum.
New thread for existing issue is a no-no.

CAN'T FIND RUU_Signed.nbh FILE IN THE STOCK ROM

I'm using the x1a (n.america) and i figured in order to make a backup of my firmware i would need the NAM (canada) stock rom instead of the UK one. (correct me if i'm wrong plz). And so i found this stock rom on this site, the exact one, even my provider's name was on it, and i downloaded it but it just came as an exe file and when i run it it just extracts/installs an image file (215mb) in a folder specified by me. In the tutorials it says that i need to put the RUU_signed.nbh from the stock rom in the kovsky folder... but i don't see that file anywhere, is it the same thing as the image file installed by the exe file? Do I just rename it and proceed??? PLZ answer this if you can because i have everything else prepared to flash my phone but this is the only thing holding me back...
Yes, if you're using the RUU method rename it to RUU_Signed.nbh if you're using the SDCard method rename it to kovsimg.nbh.

You need to extract the RUU_signed bit from the image i am having the same issue and i write software for a living. Are you following the tutorial on how to back up your rom?
video guides
Im actually following BioVolt's video guides which I think u can find on this site if u search biovolt's video tutorials? they're really good and detailed but they're kinda long.
The exe contains a .img file, just rename that to kovsimg.nbh, and copy to the root directory of your memory card, and flash it.

it's not for flashing it is for doing a ROM dump in all the tutorials it does'nt tell you what clearly to do with the stock ROM once downloaded. But now i know along the same lines as your idea It just needs renaming to RUU_Signed.nbh then place this in the same folder as the 4 files you have allready extracted.
I have watched biovaults vids good but a little long for me.
I am in the same situation, and I'm totally new to flashing/backing up Rom's.
I'm also following BioVolt's Videoguides to start with but can't get hold of the Stock UK Rom.
Since I purchased my phone in sweden, unbranded I perfer to use swedish stock roms (If this even matters anyway?!).
So just to get everything straight, can I just download "Generic Sweden R3AA009 Software Update" from the sticky here in the forum, extract and rename the .image file to "RUU_Signed.nbh" and use this when I'm dumping my rom or did I totally missunderstand you guys?
Thanks in advance and sorry if I'm just way off with this question.

The reason we use uk roms is cos they they are WWE(world wide english) and the kitchen needs this to dump the rom.
the one you end up with will be an exact copy of your stock rom.
Yes just rename the uk one
Allright, thanks alot! Really helped me out.

It's a little OT but my X1 doesn't find the kovsimg.nbh file in the storage card anymore. Why is that? I've flashed using this method for months!

Uhm, I'm not sure really.. But ensure that you put the "Kovsimg.nbh" in the root of the storage card, not in any other folder. Might be a stupid answer but you might have missed this lil' thing.
Good Luck, Anton.

Checked that...could it be a matter of storage card hardware? I had few problems writing on it through the card reader.

Might be, but you still should find the file if you successfully transefered it to the storage card...
Just to be sure, you haven't reformatted your storage card recently? It has to be in the "FAT_32" format to be flashable..
Can't really think of much else that gives you these problems..
So even if I'm using the X1a i should dump my rom with the STOCKUK rom? I read somewhere that if i flash my stock rom back on my xperia after it's been dumped using StockUK rom then my phone won't be able to connect on 3G etc.? Is there any truth to that, because im finding it impossible to dump my stock software using the NAM stock rom, kovskykitchen tells me that it cannot extract the ruu_signed.nbh

It must be uk ROM due to it being the only one that is guarenteed WWE the kicthen won't recognise anything else and when you flash back it will be whatever stock rom you currently have.

goldcard and ATT Pure issues

Hi all,
I have been trying to get past the lockout screen on my HTC Diamond 2 (the PURE version from AT&T).
I used PSAS and my old phone to make a goldcard (following forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7033683&postcount=3 this thread).
I then downloaded the stock ROM from htc.com/us/support/pure-att/downloads/ HTC (since the xda "shipped-topaz-ROMS" link doesn't go any where.) It's an .exe file, which didn't get me anything in the bootloader. I tried renaming it topaimg.nbh to see what would happen and still came up with nothing.
What should I try next?
Thanks xda!
Right click on the .exe and extract files, you will see the .nbh file
Victory! Me 1 phone 0
For the record, you gotta rename it to TOPAIMG.nbh but you already knew that didn't you?
You already stated you attempted to rename the .exe to TOPAIMG.nbh so to state again would have been pointless.
"TOPAIMG.nbh" is for flashing from SD Card, RUU_Sugned.nbh is for flashing with RUU Wrapper.
