Hi all,
I am a new user to PDA phones and I have read through the wiki about this cell,
but I still have sth to ask.
1. What is Manila?
2. How can configure or add themes and tab icons in the TF3D?
Please give me a hand in starting to know more about the machine, Thx
Someone can expand or correct, this is just how I understand it to be.
1. Manilla\Rhodium = TouchFlo3d interface from HTC. It will be called TF3d as well.
Titanium = Windows Mobile 6.5 overlay that is turned on and off via Start\Settings\Today\Items\Windows Default
2. use TF3d to search. So search 'add tabs tf3d' and see if that helps.
Thanks for the answer,
I also see that there is a lot of topics about err,
upgrading the official ROMs into Custom made ROMs,
Is there anything I should notice about upgrading ROMs,
and also wt is the advantage of using 'em?

read the stickies and make sure you know what are the steps to follow to flash a rom. follow them literally. if you don't you might "brick" your phone. when u get used to flashing, the process will be easy to follow, just take your time getting used to WinMo before flashing.
Moving from a stock ROm to a Custom ROM is easy and worth the 'risk' in my opinion. You can find all you need within the Wiki to get started with the flashing of HARDSPL. You will then choose a custom ROM and then flash that ROM to your device. You will lose all data on the phone so make sure you sync before you start.
I personally am using the Energy Rom 3.0 series and I like it.
A cooked ROM or a custom ROM is created by a person (usually with a ROM kitchen) and it removes items the cook thinks are not needed and they often add in tweaks, programs and graphical enhancements.
Some people are looking for a custom ROM that makes their device fast, while others are looking to maximize their TouchFlo3D experience. I persoanlly use Energy ROM because it is Windows Mobile 6.5, it contains Titanium (the WM6.5 touch friendly interface) and because the cook put in plenty of programs and tweaks that I would do on my own.
After I install the ROM, I do go through and install all my own programs. Not every cooked ROM will match your own needs so that is when people begin cooking their own ROM within a kitchen.
I have downloaded the kitchen and attempted to cook a ROM but I find using someone else's is a bit easier.
MSVC is Microsoft Voice Command. So when you are looking for ROMS you might see that acronym.
Im sorry for posing this question, im not trying to pollute this forum or anything. Ive been doing some searching but i couldn't find a rom that i like. This is my first time trying to flash new rom.
Im looking for a 6.5.1 lite rom with titanium and maybe the latest version of touchflo or sense!
Can anybody point me to such rom or a similar one? thanks
Hallo There
After few months of trial and error ,i think i have tried all the ROMs overhere..but only 2 days back i have found this ..it's excellent..fast, stable, showing the real pwoer of your X1. Give it a try..highly recommende by my self ..
ROM with real 6.5 XIP (SYS 21874 / EXT 21874) Rhodium shipped rom port / Manila_2_1_19201317_0

Hopefully you would like it.
Have a good day.
If you prefer WM 6.5.3 like I do Christian's ROM seems to be most stable plus has the Original Xperia X1 dialer which is my preferred dialer as it has better logs and dialing is so much easier.

If 6.5.1 is ok both spikegotti and gtrab have excellent stable ROMs.
[100% CLEAN WM6.5][2009-11-30] ***Xperia UnOff Series - Infinite & Xperia X1.5***
[ROM] PURE Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade for the SE XPERIA X1 [26 NOV 09 | SEX1 R5.07]
There are other good ROM's like Energy and Valkyrie FireStorm but somehow I could not get them to be stable for even a day after customizing with Titanium Plugins and Themes.
I prefer two Titanium Themes
WM 6.5 Titanium Theme "Bliss"
WM 7 Titanium Project
Of course, there are probably several more good ROMs but you really have to try them out. For example, I like how the fonts, email, etc look in one ROM but don't like the dialer or it's some other features I love but there is one feature I hate, etc. Play with them all. In the end you will find the most stable one that is close to your liking and will have to settle with it even though there is something better in another ROM .
Thanks for replying so fast, i will give your recommended roms a go.
Xda people are really good
Wow, this topic has simply answered my doubts and questions on which is the suitable ROM for me to use.. I've tried a few version like Touch-IT, Valkyrie, and EnergyROM those eye catchy ROM.. it's really pretty but it's way too lag for a fast user like me.. no patience left to wait for 3-4 seconds to read/create a message!
Ooh ooh i have another question. Do i have to back up my stock rom? I dont think ill need it later.

You can download stock ROM from one of the thread in the sticky here. So, not needed.

Thanks meniawy, I found this rom very stable and trendy.. met my needs and requirements Cheerz and kudos to you
Is there any way to install HTC Sense onto the default ROM from their website - i.e. the one running WM6.5 and TF3D
Or do I need to flash with a specific ROM?
Many thanks
Baz
It can't be installed, you have to flash a custom ROM.
Thanks for the quick reply
So what is the most stable release at the minute? I'm not to bothered about other bells and whistles, just would like to start using Sense
I have tried some of the ROM late last year, but they were a bit buggy, and I'm afraid I'm a bit busy at the minute with work to lend a hand debugging
So what ROM should I go for?
Baz
try all the ROMs and stay with the one which suits u best. thread closed.

First: Which languages ?
Second: Take a clean rom and you have more batery life.
Third: 6.5 maybe you find someone.
hi saw ur post and decided to share this rom
htcpedia.com/touch_it_black_xperience/soft/sony-x1-rom.html
currently the most battery saving 4 me, have 90 % for 11h standby, and few hours of wifi reduced battery by abt 10-20%. I am not forcing u to use this, an alternative would be 826x rom further down in this rom dev forum.
ROM - Touch it Black Xperiance.
Language - English
WM - 6.5.5 23569 (older version or with cookie mod available at download location)
Htc sense -2.5 2016
Enjoy!
ps. u will nid an account to download.
ive tried them all and 826x works best for me..i used energy before that (not a bad rom but it had problems with my wifi and other things)
but not all xperias are the same, some roms might not work as good for you as they do for me and vice versa.. best solution is to try each one out for a day or two..get a feel for them...

You should try "Experia UnOff 1.5", it's the best ROM I've ever try...
Thread Closed and moved to General, Not ROM Dev releated
this Energy ROM seems very good.BUT: why if I press the numbers on qwerty with FN then only signs like (!*/ etc appear ? So I have to use on-screen keyboard for numbers, what a fail! I didn't mess with nor find any setting for that!
Tried 21916 and 29022 version of the standard ROM and it's the same issue
Can't post in the ROM's thread as I'm new user
Well read in the ROM thread that just those last versions have this keyboard bug and the creator seemingly does not have time to fix this
what other WM 6.5 - finger friendly - not too slow - bug-free ROM to use ?
I'm trying the 826X rom ... It's my first flashed rom, so I don't have much experience but I'm very comfortable with it and it's very stable and fast ... even faster than the normal win 6.5 and with much better look ... give it a try and u might find ur solution
thanks, I've already installed the826x too and it seems best (of those with sense at least) as many others agree
