Sync with Outlook Express - Hero, G2 Touch Themes and Apps

Hi.
I'm gonna buy HTC Hero and i'm wondering if it's possible to sync the phone via contacts in Outlook Express (have XP on my computer). tI didn't work with my Touch Diamond.
Regards
Leffe

It may work if you EITHER use Outlook (not Express) OR sync the Outlook Express contacts with Google, then sync the phone with Google as well.
There are lots of (free) tools available to sync with Google, also Google Contact Sync. Just check if you can get it to work.

Contacts Management

Ok so I've had my Kaiser for a few days now. Apparently you have to have outlook to sync contacts from your pc. Well I have a CSV file full of my contact from my old phone. BUT i don't have outlook. I don't want to buy outlook. I have outlook express, windows contacts. (I don't see why i have to buy outlook but whatever). So I found an alternative to outlook, Google Sync. Seems to work ok. I just had to fully update my contacts on google. ANYHOW does any use this to sync contacts? If so is there a way to push contact updates from phone to Google contacts. I only seem to be able to push contacts from Google to my phone. Thanks.
NICE, is this done online?
Is it done online? It uses exchange server. It takes your google contacts and syncs them to your phone. But what happens if you add a contact to your phone? I don't think it updates your Google contacts, or at least I can't figure out how. Seems kinda pointless if you cant sync contacts both ways. But what else is someone supposed to do if they don't have outlook?
I use Google sync and the contacts transfer from my phone back to Google and vice versa. It's only the contacts saved on my phone though, not the SIM.

Please Help !!. Desperately need to Sync G1 with PC

Dear All,
I am sorry if i have posted in a wrong forum.
But currently i need to Sync my G1 with PC.
I am currently using Jac Hero ROM.
Need Help
Please suggest
A little more information so we actually know what you're talking about would be nice. What do you mean "Sync"? Are you having problems signing in to google?
I need to Sync my Contacts, Calendar and Notes on outlook to G1.
Then you need the "HTC Sync" program for your PC and phone, but it was removed from the ROM. Send a PM to "Justanothercrowd" and "ccryrowski" asking them how to push back HTC Sync apk's. Or ask in the thread.
I dunno if google has a service to sync that info with your gmail account but if it does you can do so on your pc and any changes you make in gmail will sync with your g1 ota.
I use TooDo and ToodleDo with ToodleDo Outlook Sync for tasks
There are many, many calendar sync options, including one by Google
Google has a contact sysncing app that will sync your contacts with Outlook
It's a Google phone, so most of the solutions sync to your Google account in the cloud both from/to Outlook, and from/too your phone.
My suggestion? Google it. Pick one and try it.
Lookup "touchdown" in the market. It is made to sync your outlook with your phone. If I remember right the HTC app only does email but Touchdown does the whole package.

[Q] USB <-> MS ActiveSync for Android

After searching through the web for a while, I haven't found anything that works, so I turn to the last resort; XDA-Developers
Here's the story:
I work in a company that works with outlook 2002 (XP), Windows XP, Exchange and needlessly high levels of security. For example;
- Exchange is not accessible through web, unless you use GoodLink
- GoodLink accounts are given only to company phones
- Company phones are all WinMo.. and all suck
- The only way to sync without company phone is USB ActiveSync for WinMo
Now my issue: I have a Samsung Galaxy S and "I'm lovin' it". I don't want the company phone, neither do I want a WinMo phone.
Ergo: I want to sync my SGS Android phone using USB ActiveSync
Is there a possibility to create an app to spoof my pc into thinking it's a WinMo and to sync my appointments?
If your company uses Exchange (and by the sounds of it, I'm sure that they do) and offer exchange access via webmail, you can use this Samsung app to access your email.
This was a specific Samsung app that I have only seen on the Bell firmware for the I9000M. It adds "Samsung Email" and "Samsung IM." It does also sync contacts and calendars for Exchange.
Thanks for your answer! Unfortunately there is no webmail (access only through encrypted token).

You can use Companionlink (paid app and PC software) to sync via USB to your own Outlook on your PC.

Kinghorsey,
you deserve a kiss.
you are really a king.
that application solved my problem syncing with exchange email. it's awsome.
i got the sync to contacts also but still didn't sync my contacts. therefore, you mentioned calendar sync, but i didn't get this option when setting up my exchange account.
how can i get updates for these applications? anywhere to download them from Samsung, etc...
Sync Outlook + Gmail + Android
My answer is a little left field, I sync my work calendar with my phone.
I sync Outlook calendar with google calendar, once the office PC is synced with google I sync google with my phone calendar.
Office <-> Google <-> Phone
I use a mixture of google sync (Office 2007) for the office and Companionlink (Office 2010) for my home PC. I set up a one directional sync so that only the office data is synced to google so if there are any conflicts the office calendar wins, then set my Samsung Galaxy S to sync with google calendar.

easy as easyness
ty for the other replys
I use Outlook and I also move from WinMo6.5 to Android. I used to sync my HTC to Outlook too.
But usually I also sync my Outlook to a online service (Hotmail, Google). Which service do you use Outlook with? Because Android can sync directly to most of the services and you won't need Outlook "in the middle".
Cheers.
Export contacts from outlook to Google via .csv. works like a charm.

Downloaded it and tried it and did not like it at all so I removed it after just one go.
Perhaps I did something wrong but it made me run the program to get access to my contacts.
Did the google way instead and that worked well although now google knows even more about me.

I use Android-sync.
Small free program which syncs with Outlook!

sync with outlook contacts calendars

hi there,
was wondering if there is a method to sync the contacts (and calendars) from my outlook directly? ie without going through google(sony companion)?
do i have to use myphoneexploreer? wonder if compatible?
This is also a question I've wanted answering aswell, because I'm coming over from an iPhone.

MyPhoneExplorer is really good and it's free - you cannot sync directly with Outlook.
All I did was set up my outlook email address as an account and then just select to sync calendar/contacts?
Sony PC companion syncs outlook contacts/calendars via GOOGLE account
So on the circumstances (such as for WORK), where you only just want to sync directly between PC and device, seems only something like MYPHONEEXPLORER can do.
But the thing is that i find it (MPE) quite buggy with windows 8 and newer handsets.
Any other suggestions?
Just setup exchange account(outlook) and enable sync calendar and contact.
