I don't know if ya'll noticed.
But the hard SPL for the blackstone had been released.
BANG + 20 roms released aswell.
Why isn't this happening for the Xperia?
We only have 2 good ROM builders....
I'm downloading the Xperia Citchen of Itje,
and going to try to get my old Rom coocking skills back.
I would love the see many roms for the Xperia.
Cmon, who wouldn't ???
Could some of the Rom coockers make a tutorial for the public.
So more ppl get involved into Rom coocking!!!!
Thx.

HAHAHA duh. But now back on topic
A tutorial would be a help, i've downloaed kovsky package, but as its my first time playing with a windows mobile, I have a lot to learn
I agree with you, the xperia has really very few support from cookers here.
i noticed that weeks ago, there are only one or two rooms released for x1 thought the hard spl was released long time ago.
I hope we will see more cookers on x1 section soon.
perhaps sony pay them for not releasing roms =)
I'm sure we'll see more I'm sure when the X1a is widely available in the US. And then in three years when its availble in Canada
we dont exactly have a lot of base roms to work with
so if we were suddenly inundated with new cooked roms then theyd only be based on the same couple of core os revisions.
I am also an owner of a SE X1 and I am trying to learn to cook my own Rom.
I have read on the forum as also the Wiki of XDA for 3 weeks and I read so many treats about:
• flashing my X1.
• creating my own packages.
• cooking different kind of roms with several kind of packages.
• and now im trying to build my own ROM with my own splash screen and
with a lighter version of WM6.1.
I'm learning quite fast. But sad enough there itn´t a Master tutorial for doing al this. After all this i want to build my own Panel. I don't know if
that can be customised. but I give it a try.
I wanna thank you all for all the online Tutorials.
I´m also going to try youtube for some Videos about "Cooking you own Rom"
Greetz PeteyB
Please cook ROMS
I know that X1 is not favorite as DIAMOND,
but please for god sake cook some ROMS.
Thank You Very Much
CHEERS !!!

Courier advice to me says my X1 (supposedly "a") may be delivered today or tomorrow, so I was looking forward to playing. Too close to Xmas family-time for very much of that, however.
There is JL's basic 1.04 ROM. Full extraction of this nbh file allows you to add/subtract what you want. As I understand it, the XIP section is device-independent, so newer XIP's from any of the sub-forums are useful. OEM's are what SE has coded for this device and these are obviously limited. Additional CAB packages are there for the looking.
All up, an incentive to understand dsm, rgu, hv etc. This is not easy as there are only snippets of competing, conflicting and incomplete information available in the various sub-forum resources.
One thing I hope to post before Xmas is the accuracy of the 850Mhz UMTS availability in the X1a. If this proves accurate, extracting the radio ROM is my next step.
I think the reason why there are not many cooked rom because not a lot of cooker own the experia. And the X1a looks like an endanger species in NA so that's prob the reason why.
they key question is, will the x1a roms work on x1i cause of the one camera and fps recording diffrence.....
+1 for a tutorial on creating a simple, asumes only basic knowlage about the device rom cooking guide
there is alot of cool stuff in the wiki but it it does not have everything and it no organised properly. im still forced to read ridicouls amounts of irrelevent text in old threads
that would greatly help

Yep I've built two roms based on ported xips for this now, one off the newest blackstone, and one off the raphael, but wasn't happy with either, I think I prefer building off the stock SEUS rom.

Two separate questions here:
1) x1a radio ROM's on X1i ? Obviously, that cannot yet be answered. Read my post, please - I will try to answer the question when the device finally arrives, maybe today or tomorrow, by extracting the radio and posting it here. Hassling will not make this happen any quicker, OK ?
2) crippled fps recording ? I'm afraid I couldn't care less. For me, a total irrelevancy

Yes, of course, but I'm afraid that's not going to happen:
1) there are a variety of ways to deal with the rgu's, dsm's, initflashes, hv files etc. There seems to be no common agreement amongst the experienced cooks on how to do these necessary operations; certainly, there is no complete guide on this, just snippets of conflicting and incomplete advice ... and some of this is plain wrong
2) most cooks protect their ROM in any case, since donations are part of their income. There are some genuinely noble exceptions, such as M'Amine and cs_shekhar, but extracting their ROM's reveals very different methods of dealing with 1) above
Our best way forward is to examine those ROM's that we can extract fully and sort out a methodical path. At least, that's what I'm attempting.

Telstra here in Aus have just released the X1a and I picked mine up on Friday and loving it.
I'm happy to help dump the ROM/Radio if someone is willing to help me as I haven't done it before.

That's good !! Mine is now not due till tomorrow.
But before you go attempting a dump (and I'll help you through that), the most critical question we have is this:
1) since you bought it from Telstra, I'm assuming you have a Telstra SIM capable of 3G. (If not, end of story).
If this assumption is correct, the question becomes "which area or region are you in ?" This is most important for the next step, because if you are in a city-type area (Sydney, Melbourne etc), your 3G will automatically connect to the UMTS 2100Mhz band that Telstra uses in these areas.
Since the X1i also does this, it will tell us nothing new.
If you are in a regional area, your SIM will attempt to connect 3G on the UMTS 850Mhz band because the 2100Mhz band cannot penetrate the larger distances with its shorter wavelength. The Telstra 3G-enabled SIM card does this switch automatically. but if the hardware or firmware in the device cannot connect to the 850Mhz frequency, you will not be able to do 3G in a regional area.
So, which area are you in, please ? If regional, can you connect to 3G?
We should buy Dutty a X1... I had Diamond, Touch Pro and now X1. X1 has the best potential, but is lagging with the best cooks being in other devices.
First I'd like to mention that I am grateful for all the developers on XDA working on these phones. I'm no programmer but I know plenty who are in all fields so I can appreciate what you are all doing.
I just wanted to create this thread to see how close we are to getting our hands on the HardSPL for Rhodium and any updates on development.
I've had my Touch Pro 2 for about a week and half now and already bored with it. The phone itself is great, but Windows Mobile 6.1 seriously sucks.
I really want to start using Windows Mobile 6.5, which brings me to why I created this post.
If anyone can shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.

Olipro and cmonex are still searching for mobile devices with hynix memory to test some stuff.
In short, don't expect anything soon and have patience
what
how do we know if it has that memory so others can help look.
just asked permission to Olipro if it was ok if I wrote a tutorial regarding this...
Uhm...I'll open a new thread with step-by-step instructions on how to help them out
Hope it will help them. Gimme about an hour to write a detailed tutorial.
*EDIT* Tutorial is up: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4035499#post4035499
hmm this thread will be good for the usual "hardspl waititing posts".. when release comes, we (olinex) will just create the real hspl thread, so mods will not have to clean up for release (like for topaz they had to).
as to why this flash type checking is so important: on topaz the hynix ones really just got lucky by not getting their mfg partition corrupt. (no one got it corrupt but as i said that was luck) i want to avoid any such problems on rhodium.

Does this mean there is a feasible solution for Samsung based units ?
I am surprised that it makes a difference based on the fact HTC wont have made a separate spl for hynix based units. and rom upgrades will contain the same info...
can hard spl for samsungs be realeased with a link to the tutorial on how to ensure you have samsung?
darides tutorial suggests most people seem to have samsung anyway.
infact has ther been a hynix unit seen in the wild?
Cheers

Perhaps Olinex can make a version for samsung that checks on the sspl that the memory is samsung or not. to avoid bricks or other problems.
I have not seen or know anyone with hynix memory on their tp2 after checking about 5 different units from my friends and family they are all samsung. My vodafone one is samsung too.
it's great news for me
is it a problem if everybody have the samsung chipset ?
just letting you know no updates yet - was busy in real life

Please can we have an ETA for the release of the HardSPL.
Hi Guys,
I can't put into words how much I respect and revere the information posted on your web-site and I apologise for asking the million dollar question. But I need to know.
Can we please have an ETA / timeline for the release of the HardSPL for our HTC Rhodium.
I hate my Vodafone UK branded HTC Touch Pro 2. It is red and so am I with anger. Joking aside I love HTC standard ROM's. The last one I put on my HTC Touch Pro was amazing.
Please, keep up the work....
Kind regards...

If you want to flash the HTC Shipped ROM, look out for the Goldcard methods. I'm not going into detail here because it's off topic and well documented else where. If all else fails cmonex normally helps via PM.

I can totally understand people begging for this. I nervously waiting for it to, but not to install custom ROMs. I'm waiting for it to get blackberry connect running. To achieve that I need to manipulate the device ID in the ROM itself, to fool RIM, let them think it's running on a proper device. But to flash this manipulated ROM I need HSPL (or does someone know a way to manipulate the device ID (HTC-Rhodium) in another way?).
However, asking and begging does not help or make stuff easier or getting it done faster. We all need to be brave and patient and wait a bit and let olipro and cmonex get this stuff done.

Sorry to go a bit OT here but I am interested in your info about Blackberry Connect. I have just come to the TP2 from a Storm and one thing that is lagging behind with the TP2 IMO is the push email, would the 'updated' ROM you are proposing allow me to use the pushmail service from BB ?
Thanks,
Neil

Hey Guys
Could anyone explain why this website is "not manufactured by htc = no support" ????
i mean is it a technical problem ? maybe a flashing problem ? because the people who make roms etc ... im sure they would like to make roms for any kind of phone and not only for htc.
Second:
xda support... i don't understand the term really and it doesnt make much sense ... i think we're a community who owns xperia's and modify the roms and make customization and make it public ... just like themes, icons, programs... for example all programs or icons available as cabs or other formats they can be used by any wm phone.
And also registry tweakings, hw problems we discuss etc.
so my question is does this website have a policy not to create a section for non htc phones ? or there are technical problems ? If there is a policy then i think all people who buy X2 should find another website and create a new community and if it's more technical reated well i propose to make anyway a section for X2 and exchange ideas ... share programs tweaks... etc.
i guess the reason for this is to keep a tight community.
there are many HTC devices and enough people to service.
if you find a website on dogs then it is very understandable if they dont want posts about cats. you can however argument they should do a website about all animals because in general they all eat, sleep and ****. also you can add humans for this reason . if you think long enough then you need only 1 page for carbon-based lifeforms ...
its the internet. you pick a theme, create a page and (normally) stick to it. Its the best way to find experts in your field/theme.
- QuadWord
p.s.: i guess the X2 is a (first time) special case because it will be similar to the X1 in many ways. it is only a matter of time to wait for the first X2 owner posts here. then we will see if this forum tolerates cat/dog mutants ;-) the best compromise would be to add a small x2 subforum in the x1 section. the x2 software and rom will be an essential source for x1 modifications an therefore the x2 should have a small place here (my opinion).

I nominate you for best forum thread answer EVER!
I guess you missed the point of this site / forum: as from the beginning xda-developers has been the community for the XDA (like O2 XDA, Qtek, I-mate & the latter HTC-) users who wanted or needed their underperformed Wallabies to be as promised.
Later the BlueAngel, Alpine etc devices came out and this site is / has been the place to be for these devices.
I had the Blueangel, Hermes and now the Kovsky.
When i had a SE-P800 i knew the great cooks here dindn`t do any symbian-stuff so i had to go for an another site; this is (i guess) very normal?
Edit:
Of course i`m one of the Kovsky-users who likes to see the X2-stuff here ported for the X1 !! But no hard feelings if that`s not going to happen; the internet-village isn`t so big so we`ll visit a X2-related site also ;-)
All we are going to see is probably some stuff being ported from X2 to X1. So does the rom etc. I dont think we'll see any rom for X2 popping up here,or if there is it'll probably be in the off topic section.
i dont know much about technical stuff, but i remember reading it somewhere that HTC made phone have their own "different" bootloader thing. Thats why hardSPL on some htc devices is pretty much similar, different to other non htc device like omnia.
someone please correct me if im wrong.
cheers
we all need to agree on a X2 sight that we will all go onto otherwise we will disperse!!!
Hy all developer of this forum.
One question is on my mind about this section :
What's the problem with acer liquid?
Why no one is cooking roms for this smartphone? This is a best seller phone, and many peoples acclaim development for it.
If not, this section will remain a copy of another site, and so useless for the community.
I think when you're late to the party, people get rooted into sites that are originally more popular for that particular device. Besides, XDA is known for HTC devices, so it's not unreasonable for others to not come here.
What Bellanano says is true. When the Acer Liquid thread opened, we expected great things from the XDA developers, but that wasn't

If You want custom ROMs that much, it's time to learn cooking, so You can see how much time it needs, and that some things are not that easy like on first view.
And if you just thought that when Liquid forum will be opened, new ROMs will magically appear -
That's all I had to say.

Acer Liquid isn't as widely sold. My own phone in an import from the UK and would be of perhaps a few dozen that have found their way to New Zealand.
I have no idea what Acer isn't pushing the phone globally. But they aren't. Maybe they are using this phone as a way to test their sales / support and delivery systems in an area new to them: phones.
Hello!
Upgraded my ZTE Blade to a Xperia V. I made a major leap in technology . But the development front seems to be at a stand still. Maybe the phone is to new or to unpopular. Anyhow I guess that in time we will get more custom ROM's to our phone. But CWM was a easy way to install new roms. I used it on my ZTE. Anyhow, is it possible to use this in our phones? And the tutorial for rooting the device is too cluttered ( Thinking about this thread ) for inexperienced users. How do I even come in to service mode to be able to upload my new rom/kernel?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Sweden
First its to new and second we in Sweden are one of few countries where V has been released so far. Most countries wont get V until next year.

Ah that makes sense. So we will have to wait a while (months maybe a year) until any development will a cure. I thought they where pretty much alike (T,TL,V) so I could use their roms but that seems to be wrong, I guess that they don't have LTE support.
I can't post in the developers forum because of too few posts. But have anybody here tried the CyanogenMod that's posted there?

hmmmm, you need a lot more reading before you can start posting.
If you mean my thread is to cluttered, it is not, there is a lot of information to take in and therefore done time is needed to read it.
Secondly, after a bit of reading you will learn there is no built in recovery in Sony phones, you have to instal it yourself.
Thirdly, read the threads about rooting, and unlocking, all the information is already out there
Sent from my LT30p xda premium app.
How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
EDIT, Now i am at my pc I can see you did not mean my thread, but championshipswimmers thread is very straigtforward.
My point still stands.
Before I flashed anything on my ohne I spent several days reading up on things, and since you are new to sony I recommend the all in one thread. Follow my signature ink to find it.
Read it, try to understad it, then ask questions in that thread on what things mean.
A few days reading to understand things wont stop you being able to customise your phone the way you want it, but it maystop you bricking it.
