Warning!
Ucweb is a great, simple and fast browser. I used it a lot before moving to the G1. That said, If you have confidential info use it at your own risk. It routes everything through the Ucweb servers and renders it there similar to Opera Mini. I don't know what their security policies are or whether you can trust them.
If you don't care about what you send through their servers then by all means use it.

Hi.
I am looking for an English version. Is there something new?

Hi All,

How can I open a new forum on XDA for it? It's a terrific phone but I can't find much community for it

Where you ge it?
An for how much $?
Are you sure? I was under the impression that it wasn't yet released. Infact I haven't heard any more on it since MWC back in feb.

[Q] Change adroid edition to Galaxy i9000

Hello,
Currently i'm a happy HTC HD2 owner but after working a bit with Android and the galaxy i decided to buy one but before i do i have a few questions.
I installed the desire HD android Edition on my hd2 and it was wonderful. Can this android rom or something similar be installed on the galaxy?
Is it easy to root/get admin rights?
Also the galaxy android is the same compared to htc android ?
Waiting for your help and replies!
Thanks!
there's a huge thread on Android Development on porting the desire hd rom.
It will be alot of work if its possible.
Its easy to root it as tools are on the marketplace
Galaxy S runs Samsung's Touchwiz UI instead of HTC's SenseUI. This is where HTC wins, but hardware-wise Galaxy S is the best in the market right now

Motorola Milestone better than Nexus One when 'hacked'?

Hi guys, I'm gonna get a Motorola Milestone soon. And the main reason is because of the physical keyboard. However I'm still confused about whether to get this or the Nexus one.I know that the Milestone can be overclocked and the speed likewise,I'm not too worried about it.But,can I run things like Cyanogenmod 6.1 on it maybe, cos I would rather use a custom rom than wait for updates. Please answer me.Lastly,is the screen smooth like the amoled display on the Nexus One?Please help! Thanks!
Yes when overclocked to to 1GHz the Milestone is equal in CPU power to the Nexus One, and the GPU in the Milestone is faster then the Andreno 205 in the Nexus One, regarding the screen yes the Milestone has a much better screen than the Nexus One , regarding color acuracy and things like that, the Milestone uses a IPS panel that is regarded as one if the best screens in mobile industry, the only thing that the AMOLED in the N1 is better at is power consumption and even that not that big difference, so the Milestone wins, but the downside is the locked bootloader that really is a deal breaker, but if you can live with that the Milestone is better, and one more thing, is the oficial updates, the Nexus One is going to recive them for a couple of months or better, but the Milestone is EOL....
What?So that means I can't use custom roms on the Milestone?
It's beyond my comprehension how can anyone recommend Motorola Milestone over anything.
First we got the locked bootloader and yes, that means no custom ROMs for newer versions than Motorola provides. Because Motorola will provide only Froyo somewhere next few months, you can forget Gingerbread on Motorola Milestone.
Then there is the memory issue, Motorola Milestone has 256MB RAM compared to 512MB of Nexus One or other newer devices. This is a huge difference.
In short - if you want a good Android phone with keyboard, get HTC Desire Z. If you want a good keyboardless phone, get Desire HD, Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire or Nexus One (or Motorola Milestone 2). Motorola Milestone is a option only if you want to save lot of cash and you don't care for the limitations.
Yup thanks for the advice.
i am confused about custom rom?? what the roms available in the "Motorola Milestone Android Development" section of the forum? aren't they custom roms? planning to get a milestone too as it less expensive and i want a flash enabled phone..
Basically if the bootlocker is locked, you can't install a custom rom like cyanogenmod using rom manager. But must use other ways which is really difficult for me.The motorola milestone will be getting froyo aka android 2.2 so flash player will be available for download in the android market. So flash will still eventually be available for the Motorola milestone. But I doubt it will be getting android 2.3 so if you wanna get it,you may have to install a custom Tom which I say will be difficult for beginners like me but can be learnt However, the milestone is pretty old already. Why not get a milestone 2 or a Desire 2?Both have physical QWERTY keypad and android 2.2,that means flash is available.
way too expensive... i am going to buy an unlocked phone to use in my country.
Well, if you don care about custom roms, why not just get the motorola milestone and wait for froyo or maybe froyo is already available in your country It will be a pretty good buy! Root the motorola milestone and overclock it and you will feel your phone is really new!
Get a milestone if you want. Desire z has Sense ui and Europe has a bad rep on updating Sense Ui phone, take a while to update, even longer then Moto at times. Motorola is already thinking of support the original Droid with 2.3 os in Late Q1 2011. Maybe, that should give you milestone users; some hope on getting Gingerbread official or Rooted roms. If storage is the problem Do Sd partitioning to swap the apps on your sd..
Only if you were in america my droid has flash player, trust me is good but not great. Same goes with g2 aka htc desire Z have flash doesnt run excellent either. Droid/milestone is better then Desire Z. If you buy Desire Z u going to be spending more money on device; that has similar if not less feature then droid/milestone rooted.
Single LED FLASH= For picture in dark
Dual= 2 LED FLASH= On Milestone
Milestone has less ram with 256 ram, but with sd partioning that can be solved.
Desire Z have an 512 ram.
Milestone has D pad for gaming and better navigation without the touching the screen.
Desire Z has those loose hinges that can be a problem to several users.
Milestone has better GPU= graphic processor with Power vr CHip SHG 530 so does the Galaxy phones and iphones has them 540 and 535.
Desire z has adreno 205 which is limited.
Milestone have better resolution with 854x480 over
Desire Z that have 800x480 .
Milestone might not have the ram, but in everything else it beats Desire Z.
Milestone 512 rom internal memory, but allow user to use 256 Mb
Desire Z has 1.2 gb internal memory.
Overall I say go with Milestone if you are hacker.
Off topic info-In my opinion since the droid 1/Milestone came out a lot of phone are copying the layout of this phone . Look droid incredible,iphone4 and G2/Desire Z. They look like the original Droid.

The Milestone uses a 100MHz SG530.
The Adreno 205 in Desire Z is a lot faster than the Adreno 200 in the previous Snapdragons. Its performance is on par with the 200MHz SGX530 from Droid 2 or Droid X.
The Hummingbird in Galaxy S uses a SGX540 (blows everything away and sides with Tegra2), and both the 3GS and iPhone 4 use a SGX535 @ 150MHz (better performance/clock than SGX530, equivalent to SGX530 @ 200MHz in most cases).
The Desire Z is a better device all-round, no doubt about that. But it's also a lot more expensive.
And with all the dual-core high-end phones coming out in a couple of months, right now it's a really bad time to be spending a lot of money in high-end phones like the Desire Z.
If you're going to throw the Desire Z around, I would much rather have the Droid 2 Global. Its superiority over all phones makes up for the locked bootloader (IMO). It depends on your needs and standards. I place the touchscreen, overall display quality, and build quality above all else. In these departments, neither Nexus S (definitely not the N1) nor the Desire Z is in the same league as the Droid 2 Global.
milestone help...
Currently I'm not under contract with any carriers, was using my nexus one on local carrier and traded that for an iphone 4. Sold that and currently using a samsung vibrant which only cost $160. I can get a milestone for free with a 2 year contract, but I ll probably just the vibrant mainly. Would the milestone be a good backup android device? It seems out dated to me already, should I just stick with a blackberry bold (even more outdated)????
You should just keep your Vibrant, IMO.
I wouldn't sign a 2-year term just for the Milestone.
All I can say dump vibrant. Samsung take to long updating. It took them 9 month to update to android 2.2 os on vibrant from july 15 release until january 14th 2011 in tmobile usa. Sprint release their samsung galaxy(epic) came out in early august still stuck 2.1 os.
Samsung galaxy(captivate) 2.1 os came out late august no update yet.
Samsung galaxy(fascinate) 2.1 os in late september...
List go on
Droid 1 is getting 2.3 os in march . Giving chance to milestone user in getting gingerbread.

Umm...
Updates to the Droid are not useful in giving hope to Milestone users. We did not get stable 2.2 ROMs until Motorola leaked a 2.2 firmware. Locked bootloader means we can never replace the kernel until Moto releases a signed version.
HTC Sense UI has been *the most* up-to-date custom UI overlay out of all the manufacturers. Once an official Froyo ROM was released for the HTC Desire anywhere in the world (June/July 2010), the RUU was compatible with all GSM/HSPA Desire phones worldwide. The Droid 1 OTA did not arrive till August and it was a USA-CDMA exclusive that was relatively useless in providing options to non-US Moto users.
"Even longer than Moto at times"... can you provide me an example where HTC users had to wait longer in Europe for a working official-sourced Android update compared to a similar-generation Moto phone?
In Europe, as far as I can tell, every HTC phone that was about to get an update, got it long before the European Moto phones got theirs.
For example: HTC Desire got FroYo late summer/early autumn 2010 (forgot exact date).
Moto Milestone -> will get official FroYo sometime the next two-four weeks (Q1 2011!!). Inofficial "leaked" FroYo only appeared like a week ago (Asia-Pacific version, not even the one for Europe, but works just fine).
Do NOT(!) pick Milestone if you want to be able to do anything you want with your phone.
Get it if you can wait 2-3 more weeks for FroYo, and if you are willing to more or less use it "out-of-the-box". (maybe rooting and a bit of tweaking/overclocking/themes, but no REAL "Roms" possible).
get that droid x ME181 china-only market
or wait for dual core phone
That not true only a few location hasnt update their phones... A few european country already has updated the milestone 2.2 os since late december. Example Spain has 2.2 os already on their phone.
Htc desire got it update in July 31 the first full month of summer.
Motorola milestone aka Droid in usa got 2.2 os since August 3rd. If you hacker u can update milestone 2.2 os because droid users coded the update to milestone users already. Search up Droidforum.net That mean if droid get 2.3 os officially u milestone users can get it by us coding it for ya.
Not wait for htc to update the device.

Edit: Some of the names are actually legit companies with plenty of their own phone production lines.
