Hi guys.
Anyone here living in the UK and using orange broadband at home? I do, and I want to connect my Xperia to my Orange livebox via wireless so that I can use internet on my phone as well however the orange livebox has this system that u can only install access by using the installation cd.
Is there any way around this? I m finding this rather annoying. Where are the good old days where u could just pick a password.
I ve searched the orange forums but couldnt find an answer there so if u guys know, please share.

Ive got the Livebox and it works fine. You normally have to press the button on router then pair it up.
I m waiting too。
interesting. This was the only response I found in the orange forums as well. However, may orange box does not seem to have any buttons - I ll check this again later though. Thanks for the reply.

I've got an Orange Livebox. To connect a wireless device to it, first you press the button labeled "1" on the back, then on your X1 connect and enter the pass key (a 26 hex code on the box's label) and away you go. Setup CDs are not necessary.
Hope this helps

This might sound stupid but I have a question. I am trying to connect my xda2i to the internet trough a Motorola v3. The reason I’m doing this is that I don’t need the xda2i as a mobile. I have a Motorola v3 I bought trough the office with an unlimited GPRS access. O2 did a couple of terrible mistakes with my business account and probably being afraid that we are going to sue them, they tried to befriend me by sending me this xda2i. I don’t want to use a new number so all I want to do is connect my V3 with this xda2i. It seems that it won’t work for some reason that eludes me. Is there anyone here able to help me with few ideas?
Regards
Ovidiu
I have tried this a few times and it appears that the required software is not installed on the XDA IIi.
Why not unlock the XDA IIi and use yout Voda SIM in it?
Xda2i and Bluetooth
Hi guys
Like you I have tried over and over to get my 2i to talk to a bluetooth device and connect to the net ( I brought a small blue tooth modem that I can plug into a Wall phone socket ) , But no Joy .
Ive searced lots of forums and as you have , have been told that some of the software is missing from the blue tooth section . Its a real bummer cos it means we are trapped to wifi or GPRS the latter being very expensive .
Would really appreciate a patch to make this work if any clever people are reading .

Sarting reading about Mobile providers and cab files...
There is a search button
So topic CLOSED
Install hardspl -> duttys v4 rom -> and make sure if you dont install the 1.27.12.11 radio. do it in that order if you dont know how to do a certain thing then search. you'll need to find and run the tilt keyboard cab too when all done. but with that rom and almost all roms upon starting up the first time it will configure all your settings. now if your trying to get 5.99 internet through the proxy then i cant help you.
It should automatically detect your internet settings when you go to connection setup.

I have unlocked tilt and am currently using tmobile 5.99 web with email. It can be done i'm doing it with no issues.

Have you called Orange?
Im on orange and it works fine although my mate also is, and he was having this problem yesterday.
He rang orange and they confirmed a problem and they were already working on it, but had no ETA.
Give them a call for an update
thanks for the info guys, orange confirmed the problem but gave no ETA for a fix.
Im having problems today.
I can connect fine and use quite afew sites but some (like xda dev for example) comes up with orange safeguard and says that the site may be for over 18's and cant determine who i am. Weird because it only does it on some sites - i tried red tube as a test and it lets me on there! :s
Will just be patient for now (and keep remoting to my home pc to post on here! lol)
hi,
i downloaded bb connect from sony ericssons xperia page (usa). it installs fine but cant get it to stay connect through gprs (says suspended by user) and when i press the register button, nothing happens.
does anyone know why this is?
is it because gprs is not a good enough connection?

which version are you using? Here you have a lot of versions. 4.0.0.106 is the latest I guess, and that should be working on X1. Maybe you can register via wifi first, and then try to sync further via gprs?

using 4.0.0.106. when i turn on wifi it does nothing. its like the program does not recognize a wifi connecting.
you have to be set up on a blackberry tarrif to get it to work......also check your not supports this programme as i got changed 2 weeks ago for it only to be told by their tech support that the network doesn't support it. Also br careful if you have an unlimited web deal with it, as my network also told me that the unlimited web wouldn't work either.
oh yeah, i use o2 uk by the way

thanks, im with o2 uk. thats why its not working because they must be blocking it as i dont have a blackberry contract. about he unlimited web, they can exclude it as if u link your phone to a pc and use it as a modem they can recognize that so probably the same with bb connect, as the blackberry contracts are a lot more expensive (even though u get the same or less).
Hi Guys
I bought a used HTC Tytn ii (Vodaphone 1615) and I don`t seem to be able to connect to the secured wifi at work. This uses WPA2-AES. (I even had our Network Administrator check it over with me but didn`t see any problems!) However, I can connect to my home wifi using o2 router using "open" authentication and wep encryption.
I have read the posts here about similar issues but can`t find a solution. Has anybody seen this? Any ideas?
I am also wondering if I need to flash the ROM! Any useful links? The phone appears to be been a Vodaphone contract phone but has been unlocked to all networks. If I flash the ROM, would this go back to being locked? I would prefer not to flash unless that is the only solution.
Thanks very much in advance for your help
