Hi All,
Apologies if this has been posted somewhere already - although I have searched intensively before posting this thread.
I have a rogers G1, and rooted it, keeping the EBI1 radio, and naturally loaded cyanogenmod rom. Browsing the forum I noticed that almost none of the other roms tell you whether its compatible with the rogers EBI1 or not...which leads me to my question(s):
* Is there any rom besides cyanogenmod that will work on my Rogers? Is there an easy way to tell which roms will work or not?
Thanks all!
enzo
Just flash and see for yourself wether they will work or not, if your phone has the 26i radio other roms will work....But if you dont then you must stick with cyan but enom also supports EB11 rogers.
i've got the 3.22.20.17 radio...im particularly looking for an eclair or hero rom - any confirmed to work with this?

Hello,
I require a rom for my telus device which will enable me to downgrade the rom which is currently installed. This way i can upgrade to a customized rom perhaps the macado rom suggested by theunlockr.com.
Can you please provide some direction as to where i would find such a rom that will enable me to unroot my telus hero then root again!? I have tried WWE(world wide english) roms and roms created for T-Mobile + Sprint in hope that they may have worked.
Greatly Appreciated!

No rom will work on sprint+ tmo phones because of kernel differences. Also sprint uses cdma so it cant use a gsm rom. There are no 1.6 roms like cyan for Hero however you should try hero 2.1 on your phone.
shoot realized this was in the wrong section late...
thanks for the advice ace.
Hey guys, I actually have a myTouch 3g, but I am posting this here since they are very similar.
In the "About Phone" section, it says that my Baseband version is 62.50S.20.17U_2.22.19.26I
Since my radio is the same number as other people who flashed HardSPL for a 2.1 ROM, do I need to update my radio? I'm planning on upgrading to KiNgxKxlicK AOSP 2.1.
Thanks!
Nope! 2.22.19.26I is the latest version available for the Dream/Magic.

Alright, cool. So that means that I can flash the SPL here even though I have a MT3G? This is the HardSPL right?
Sorry to ask so many questions, I just don't want to risk bricking my phone.
i am on froyo with the new radio, and i want to go back to the desire rom. which radio should i get?
thanks
Probably the radio you were on before you updated. Which nexus version do you have, ATT?
im on the tmobile one...
so wipe, flash radio, then flash Desire rom? thats all the steps i would need to do?
thanks so much
could anyone let me know the best radio?
no one? really?
Radio performance varies by region. No one can tell you the "best" one for you unless they follow you around all day.
well what is the STOCK radio that came with my nexus when i got it with 2.1 before i upgraded to froyo

No idea, but check:

Hello everyone,
I'm fairly new to Android. I just switched from Blackberry, and i'm extremely glad that I did. I picked up a Galaxy S Vibrant (GT-I9000M). I'm currently in Canada on the Sasktel network.
I'm interested in trying out some custom roms (Darky's v10.0 RC5.3 seems to sound pretty good), but before I go do this, I have a lot of questions that I can't find answers for.
Firstly, i've read that custom roms should only be applied on "international" versions of the Galaxy S. Is this true? Why is that? Also, i have no idea how to tell if mine is an international version.
There are some instructions that say, "Don't install kernel with this version", or "don't install modem if you have a certain phone" It's a little confusing.. is the ROM not the kernel? It sounds like it'd be easy to brick a phone..
I've also read that the phone has to be unlocked. (mine is not unlocked). Is this a requirement before installing any custom roms?
Apparently, there are different methods to install roms (market apps, odin, saving files to SD card..) is there a preferred method?
If anyone can help with these questions to help get me started, i'd be most appreciative.

I have read and read thread after thread... after thread, and I'm confused...
Is there an actual legit Gingerbread update for the US TMo Tab that I can do through Keis or Odin, or is it an overseas version? And at that, will it pull files automatically, or do I have to DL, then install? And is that safe for the US TMo Tab?
I keep hearing about Overcome, and searched and read. Is it an actually 2.3 Gingerbread ROM, or a 2.3 theme? If it is a ROM, is it a full ROM with all working options, or more something I should wait on the official release for?
Thanks for any help, and links are appreciated.
I did searches and read a lot, but the more I read, the more unclear it became, so I thought this would clear it up for me...
There is an actual, legit Gingerbread updated that will work on a US TMobile Tab that can be installed via Odin, AND it is an overseas version (Italy release, specifically). You will have to download the files and install them. See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073854 . Also see here for a modem switcher, as you won't be able to get 3G using the Italy build modem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871021
Flashing is never completely without risk, but many people have done this successfully.
Overcome is a complete firmware replacement with many modifications. The latest release is based on 2.3, but I don't really track it, so I can't really say too much more about how well it works. See here for details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074759
(You can also get the T-Mobile stock modem from that thread without going to the trouble of using Roto's switcher.)
The Overcome Rom is a fully functional build of Android 2.3 (Alterbridge also has a 2.2.1 Rom out there)
It has only minor minor bugs at the moment (which you likely wont even notice), but for the most part is a fully working build.
If you follow the steps written up at the bottom of Alter's Gingerbread ROM, you shouldn't have any troubles.
To answer the original question, there is no official gingerbread for any US carrier's tab, and probably won't be.
