Anyone who wants to play around with the status bar at the top by changing colours e.g. from standard black to white just edit the file attached. Leave it in png format and the name as it is. Just edit the colour. Use adb or metamorph to include it in a theme or your choosing. And only place it in the following 2 folders - framework-res\res\drawable-480x320 and folder - framework-res\res\drawable-land-480x320.
It may not be necessary for both but it works for me. Jus thought to pass this info on. Cos Im working on icons. All creds to Ratcom as I was searching for this in one of his themes and Foxy Editor dev as I can edit the colour on my phone and also to the dev of Astro for making it easy2copy and paste
cheers guys/girls.

The white does not look good on a black phone. I need black with white text.
If I took my theme template how difficult would be be to change that? Is it the XML and if so, what file and where?
For the statusbar look in framework-res.apk/res/drawable and search for colorChange.jar to change the text colors. If you can sign files and have the android sdk and lasest java jdk then you are set. If not search for those things.
If all you want is to change the bar to black and the text to white then pm me and i can do it easily when i get home tonight
I was wondering if it is possible to install a fully working white notification bar on the Evil Eris ROM v3.0. I've tried searching the forums and have installed the bar successfully, but the clock is white on a white background, which is extremely annoying. I've tried fixing it with the new spare parts by changing the clock color and still no go. Any help would be nice. Thanks.
try going into the zip file for the white notification bar and changing it? I dont know, im basically a noob, just about a year of experience
Changing the clock color requires you to edit the services.jar file. Do a search of the entire site on changing the clock color.
I've done it before but it's not easy. Requires smali and baksmali and opening up a classes.dex file.
So, I used the AXMLPrinter2.jar to turn the status_bar_item_background.xml to a human readable file. Then I put it into my MetaMorph zip, and it's causing reboot looping.
I wanted to know whom knows where to make the Notification Bar transparent. It seems there is a color hex some where in an xml because after I made a transparent png there was still a black background...
I had a hard time finding a theme I wanted and didn't have the time to make my own, all I was wanting was a special status bar that was partially transparent. So heres what its come down to, I used the KewlGrey Theme and mixed it with the Stock DE03 Theme. Added in KewlGrey Status Bar, Status Backround, Different Font, and last but not least the Color of the Notification when you touch it.
EDIT: The forum will not allow me to post the image URLs and the ZIP for the theme is to large to be uploaded in the manager
EDIT2: Managed to upload the pics but cant get the theme up yet due to Newbie restrictions
The fact that the notification-bar icons are actually larger than the grey background bar makes it look rather messy.
Also the date (when the notification bar is pulled down) has a different grey background as well.
I think you should sort these things out first, to be honest

Hey all,
Hope you can provide some assistance. I got an all-white icon set, and modified a few .pngs in Photoshop to add color to match my theme. Backgrounds were transparent, displayed transparent in Photoshop, still opened as transparent after I exported them for web as png-24s with transparency preserved. However, as soon as I drag the icons over to the root of my storage card, my phone (HTC One) displays the once transparent backgrounds as black. What gives? I've tried using Photoshop 7, Photoshop CS6, and GIMP with the same results. I'm I missing something?
