So what would be the fastest rom out there for people who enjoy the non-leo versions?
Thanks in advance,
Gible

21889_LITE
very fast, stable, & battery life 2-3days
This is another opinionated query which is frowned upon at XDA as people will have different opinions/results depending on what they use rom for, apps installed etc causing extremely long threads with no real answer
Best advice would be to read a few of the rom threads, and try some roms. This way you find rom which best suits you!

Hey guys
Have been using Dutty's WinMo6.1 ROMs for a while now, and keen to try out a 6.5 ROM. Anyone have any thoughts on the fastest, most stable 6.5 ROM currently available? Dutty's, Miri's, Energy...?
Would appreciate any advice on good 6.5 ROMs
Thanks!
This one is my favourite

Seriously guy? They're all good, just download one and try it out, or better yet read one of the threads about the particular rom you're interested in. No one else can tell you how it will work for you!
PS. All threads asking "best", "fastest", "most stable" etc get shut down! Do a search in this forum to see why!
*Edit: Lol homer!!!
wow, helpful responses. thanks a lot
You're most welcome!
your question is like asking, what is the best car to drive? What is the nicest country to live? At a movie theater which arm rest is yours? Where does the toe-tag go on a dead person if they don't have toes? How far east can you go before you're heading west? What's the difference between normal ketchup and fancy ketchup?
EDIT: Why do they call him Donkey Kong if he is not a donkey?
You simply dont get get it!
It is all speculation since everybody using the ROM their criticing will comment its the best and the fastest etc until there's a war of: This is best and that is best ROM! The only way to know is to try them and then decide yourself! Next time follow the guidelines, this is not Question and Answers!
Actually, no, it's not. Speed and reliablity are things you can quantitatively measure, and therefore compare on the basis of. If I'd asked, 'what's the best ROM', then fair enough. But I asked for opinions on the fastest and more reliable 6.5 ROM. Those are measurable things, and I was also interested in people's opinions.
I'm not sure why you're being so defensive.
I think you just don't get it. Fastest/More stable is very relative. Fastest for me doesn't mean fastest for you. More stable for me doesn't mean ore stable for you.. It's depends on how you use the phone or what application you use the most.
Just try to flash one 6.5 ROM and try it out. if you don't like it, you can always revert back to 6.1 ROM. Use Sashimi or other backup program to restore your settings if you think flashing is a chore..
ROM Benchmarks in this forum, at the top with the "Sticky" label: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=516190
If you go a few pages in this rom development forum you will find TONS of threads asking the exact same thing; Which rom fast? stable? etc etc!!
Thanks for the link xmsnx, I'll check it out.
I guess the fact there are 'benchmarks' suggests you CAN compare ROMs, despite what others seems to think...
Cheers
You simply still dont get it!
Anyone know which hero rom runs the fastest and supports Apps2SD and has the minimal amount (or no) loading screens?
Please read the rom threads for comments.
When you ask questions like this, people might answer you, but you're going to get different answers from everyone. The best way to determine what is best for you, is simply to try them out.
Just try the ones on the first few pages and find out and read the discription and the comments.
Here we go again!!!
I've lost count of how many threads we had here about this. Seems like once a week or so someone has to ask "Which rom is the best" Here's your answer: They are ALL different and have their strong points. There are no BEST rom for everyone but everyone has a rom that works out BEST for that one person. Just like what evilkorn said: try out few different ones (following the instructions very carefully) and do a nand backup after each one. See which one YOU like the best and stick with it.
Good luck.

Been asked before many times with same result. Just try a few and make you own decision. Basically opinionated queries are frowned upon as everyone has different opinions which creates endless long threads

I know this have been discussed before but I cannot get a clear answer by searching this forum, googling etc.
I have been flashing many of the custom roms and they are all great work but I have too many crashes everyday. Right now maybe 3-4/day !
Usually the roms works better in the beginning but then gets worse by time.
I use my phone for business and very often I realize that my phone is just dead and no one can call me etc
I love eyecandy like Energy, Valkyrie roms etc but my first priority is stability today.
Which custom rom would you say is the most stable today ?
also .. I cannot find the last generic rom version. Link doesnt work?
Thx,
Pete
most chefs will say their rom is not bugless.. if you use your phone for business and important calls, guess you should stick to stock 6.1 or rather have a second phone
those labeled as final and unchanged for a few months or as stated above - stick to stock
sounds highly contradictory aiming for a stable and mostly bugless rom while still flashing latest wm betas...
search for generic in gtrab thread, those are not latest r3a but at least dl works
...and was it really necessary to open a new thread for these "insights"?

Sorry I didnt mean to offend or upset anyone. Just politely asking a question.
There are many many great roms but I just need to find if you find one/some particular more stable. Offcourse I accept some bugs etc but my problem is that the phone just dies several times each day.
Great work though to all chefs !
BR,
Peter
Stock rom
I have been googleing etc for hours.
I can still not find den latest swedish generic stock rom.
(I dont want the SE update service)
I want to flash with Hard SPL
All links go to the same dead link?

Another useless thread reported.
It could have been useful without all the ignorant no content answers.
You start a thread if you need answers that you are not able to find.
ie this forums sticky to generic roms is no valid.
Comparing roms from user experience is not useless.
Like a review with SE X10 vs HTC Desire.
Your answer would have been. Buy the both I am not gonna help you!
Thanks for the info I got though !
/Peter
Start with the threads with the most views or top most threads (i.e., still alive). Read the very first post, view screen shots, feature lists, bug fixes, updates, etc. Then jump to the very last page to see what sort of issues people are reporting. Some are deal breakers, and some aren't. At least you can page back a few to see if the author plans an update. Even with my post count, I never ask people what to recommend. It's something too many people ask, so I end up finding those threads first!
Custom ROM images are free for many reasons, and the biggest drawback is the lack of guarantees that the builds are bug fee.
There are generic, stripped-down ROMS... you'll need to search for those or look at the stickies.
My favorite custom ROM is Touch X 10.9.1. I've had it for a few months after trying at least 3 different ROMs.
Thanks for a great answer !
I asked for the "most stable" suggestion that means I understand that they are not bugfree or totally stable.
Itje and Wildchild seems to be high contenders.
Anyway, sorry for this thread and thanks !
I promise you I have read a lot.
I joĆned 2008 and this is my first thread.

@all: One thing more annoying than a question that has been asked many times before is a meaningless flaming answer. Refrain from making it useless. As far I can tell this thread has served it's purpose, and therefore I'll close it.

Hey folks,
the title says it all - I'm looking for the best ROM for daily usage for my wife :cyclops:
Right now she owns a HTC Sensation with CM 10.2 from Albinoman (20131028), but it's always a bit laggy and buggy.
So I need a ROM which is really smooth and - the most important thing - has a really good working camera!
Otherwise I know I will run into really big problems
It mustn't be the newest ROM, but the most stable and smoothest - nothing less and nothing more
Any recommendations from you ROM-freaks?
Best regards and thanks in advance for your help

Okay - thanks for...nothing?!
I agree to AndreiLux' answer to the OP of the linked thread.
Why it should not be allowed to ask people about their experiences with one or another ROM
I clearly stated what I'm looking for, and stability and a working camera are truly hard-facts for which I can get recommendations.
Not to bother you...but this really doesn't help anybody.
Best regards

I can advice you to go for The Galaxy Project v11.anything for the Galaxy S3 LTE. (I'm not sure which is the latest version of v11). This is a nice rom based on stock android 4.1.2, very stable and everything works. Do not go to 4.3 yet if you want stability and everything working smoothly.
The reason "Best Rom" threads are not allowed, is because it's "subjective". It can also lead to arguments between devoted fans. Understand, not everybody at XDA is civil. Mostly, but some folks take "fan devotion" to another level and cause serious problems. I won't mention any "Team" roms that frequently troll each other. For this point, "Best Rom" threads get closed unless there is a formal official thread monitored by the moderation team.
My advice is to read the popular threads starting from the last few pages. This gives you an idea of any recent bugs in the recent releases.
Then try a couple.
Although the recent CM. Paranoid Android, AOKP and PacMan roms are nice, they are not for everybody as they can get complicated with options. I myself prefer a more stock based, odex'd ROM. With Xposed mods, custom kernel and some necessary apps.
With that said, this thread will be closed now.
Cheers
