Alarm on the HTC HD2 - HD2 Accessories

I was wondering about the alarm on the HTC HD2
Do you guys think its bad? Is there any chance to change the song to one of your own?
If it is, how you do it?

je loš je
the alarm is bad, i've instaled gAlarm and it works fine, you set the song that you wish and voila.

hehe
but is there any way you can swtich the alarm from the menu with a other you buy?

The stock hd2 alarm is good for your health, it lets you sleep longer

Use Klaxon, it's free and one of the best alarms I have used. It also supports using the accelerometer for snoozing (flip the phone over) and stopping (shake the phone).

thanks guys, i will try it out.
I have tryed the normal one, but i never hear it:S
But is there any chance to change to your own songs on the orginial alarm?
I just want to try and see how it works

Haha , good one
thanks Pagnell

If you want to select you own song for the alarm I think you do that by copying the song in .wav format to the windows folder. It will then appear in the tunes you can select for the alarm

okey, do i have to do that on my pc then?

I meant under the windows folder on your phone.
If you cant see the phone's windows folder when you connect it to your PC, than in you explorer on desktop go to tools --> folder options --> view and untick the box next to 'Hide protected operating system files'
Hope this helps.

thanks , i will try it out
But one other thing, is there any chance to change the alarm out on the front with a other one i download?
If so, how?

The standard alarm is not so good and there are 2 good alternatives,
Klaxxon which is free
Galarm which costs but i think is the best alarm for WM
PS
This thread should be in the HD2 general or HD2 software section

Hey, why do you think the standard alarm is not so good? It's a simple alarm with snooze function, am I missing a point?
By the way, I installed g-alarm three days ago, I know it has many other functions, but why do people not like the standard alarm?

They also forgot to mention pTravel alarm which is pretty darn good... I use it every morning to wake me and the wife up... hasnt failed at all so far...

Haha! This happens every day, the alarm is totally useless.

My alarm was working fine untill I installed BsB Tweak, Except that I slept through couple of times maybe it was because it rang for short period and i was too deep asleep to wake up for it. Anyway, after installing BsB Tweak the alarm rings and the lights come on but there is no 'Dismiss' or 'Snooze' button. The phone is on 'lock screen'. When I unlock these buttons are still not there. Does this phone have a mind of its own and Playing with me? After all this fidling I am wide awake and the other alarms just become anoying so i will have to fiddle further to cancel the other alarms. I have uninstalled the BsB tweak and it still has that problem. I will cancel the hd2 alarms altogether and try the stand-alone alarm programs.

klaxton seems not to be working for hd2... i was not able to add new alarm to the list.. i just got my hd2 and itz on stock asian english rom.

Looking for a GOOD alarm clock...or to fix WolfClock

In moving from wm5 to wm6, my favorite alarm clock, WolfClock, seems to be broken. It works fine as long as the Kaiser is on. But if it goes off, when the time for the alarm comes, it turns on ok, but no sound is produced by the alarm. ARGHHH!
The developer is no longer working on this, so I don't think he will fix it.
So, my questions are:
a) there is a debug mode....anyone want to suggest what I should look for and how to "fix" this?
or
b) what's a good alternative? I tried SPB Time, WaWa Clock...didn't like either one. Other suggestions? (Can't stand the built-in alarms...so don't bother suggesting that!) Would prefer free but will settle for something pleasant, customizable, and can do alarms, snooze, and - my favorite - naps!
Thanks.
I use DelMar alarm clock and I really like it. The only issue I am aware of is that I am pretty sure it won't wake up the phone to sound the alarm, but since my phone is plugged in at night and I have the power settings to not turn the phone off if on external power, it's not that big of an issue.
.:Christian:.
enAlarmPPC
I use enAlarmPPC. Nothing fancy but it has worked 100% reliably for me. One of the nifty features to me is that when the alarm goes off almost the entire screen acts as a snooze button (you can tap anywhere on the screen to activate the snooze). & its Not bloatware (not bloated with useless graphics and such).

Delmar is the same way.
I'm also using enAlarmPPC. It does exactly what it has to do!
Works perfect with WM6 even with Slide2Unlock2 running not a problem.
I don't know what it is about WM6 but I've had a lot of problems with alarm clocks and timers not being able to wake the phone up to go off.
I have been using pTravel Alarm from BurrOak Software for three weeks now in my Tilt.
It works flawlessly, wakes-up the phone to sound the morning alarm and doesn't seem to have caused any freeze-ups at all.
It uses a large clock display. I set it at night before I pass out and it is about the only time I actually tilt my Tilt.

I Use SPB Time Its Really Nice it has a nice clock plugin and the alarm lets u put ur own wake up tones.
Download It Here!
admin edit: serial removed, warez is not allowed!
I am using Chronos Time Clock (www.activekitten.com).
Very reliable and never failed to wake up the device.
One of the very useful things for me is that you can pre-program it to send a text message at a specific time. Very useful for birthday wishes to go out at 00:00 when you are fast asleep.
I'm using CradleAlarm now, that is the successor of enAlarmPPC. Has many nice features and seems to be very reliable. And the price is OK, too!

another vote for chronos, but haven't used it for awhile. had the smartphone version w/ my mpx220 but it was buggy on my strtrk. i switched at that point to GenTimer, love it as well.
I'm running the PPC version of GenTimer on my Tilt and it's very nice, entire screen functions as 'SNOOZE' with a long-press and it never fails to wake the device up. Very customizeable, skins are kinda ick so I've rebadged the exe resources images and resigned it to run.
It includes alarms, clock, world time, stop watch, timers, etc.
Chris
I am also using Chronos and it works great. Another alarm that i used to use was enalarm pocket pc. They changed the name now to cradlealarm i think but they both work great.
I use GSAlarmClock ver 1.20
It's FREE and allows me to mute my phone so SMS and Email doesn't wake me up but the alarm still sounds.
Works flawlessly, never late for work thanks to the annoying alarm sound it makes that forces you to get out of bed!
My fav by far.

Need an alarm clock app! help please :)

Hey all,
I was curious if anyone knows any good alarm clock apps. It's really quite annoying that the default WinMo alarm clock doesn't work if you have your device silenced, but I don't wanna be woken up at night from someone texting me or whatever.
Does anyone know a good alarm clock app that will work and override the system volume?
Thanks!
-yeagy
I use mort player, it has an option to start a playlist on alarm like IPODs do or play a separate file. It doesn't have to be on for the alarm to work.
Search google or xda for: Mort Player
I have been using pTravelAlarm, and its woke me up fine when the phone is on silent or vibrate.
Has 10 different alarms to set, and can use mp3 files as the sound.
Only problem i have found is, when it starts up when the phone is on standbye, it beeps. I have a soft alarm, because i hate being woken suddenly, which is what the beep seems to do when on 'loud'
Halftone: If you uncheck 'events' in 'sounds and notifications' the beep is gone
Another pTravelAlarm user here. It's one of the first applications I install on a new PDA / after a hard reset.
Thanks!
Okay, I will check out those apps,
Thanks guys!

CradleAlarm 4.0
I just swiched to the new version of pTravelAlarm, now CradleAlarm 4.0. Very reliable and much more responsive than pTravelAlarm when editing alarms. Same great "force volume" feature that sounds even if the ppc is on silent.
I use Chronos and it works great.
SPB time
I use SPB time..The alarms that you can set are quite loud and works well for me.

I use this one also and so far i'm very pleased with it. Windows is known for the alarm bug but if you use SPB time you won't be supprised waking up to late because the alarm failed to go off.

Repeating alarm Hack for 6.1

I have searched and searched for a new hack for making our alarm repeat.
Everything I found did not help.
Does anyone know what registry line to change to repeat it continuously.
I had one for wm 6.0 and it worked great.
Thanks
Scott
Does simple ticking "Repeat" box not working?
Anyway if you would like nice Alarm app i would prefer this one:

Ooh, neat program! Thanks kristoff_sz, I'm going to try that out tonight.
It would be nice if the built in windows one would just repeat though. Checking the repeat box makes no difference.
The repeat box does work... Or should. you just can't push "Dismiss" because that means you closed/turn it off. So if you press ignore or whatever the other button is on the right, it should repeat. : )

On the AT&T 6.0 and 6.1 roms it does not. You can set it to repeat, but the sound plays once and never again. Very annoying.
So the alarm built in IS a pos. I haven't had mine too long and was driving me nuts!

HTC has a decent phone...but seems like their software just sucks or isn't user friendly.
the repeat function does work if your set tone is short (ie an annoying alarm tone), but I've noticed that it doesn't repeat if its long (ie song clip)
btw, i'm using AT&T 6.1 but it worked when I had 6.0 as well
Can´t Check the repeat box
Can any of u help me on this, if it only rings one time i will certainly not wake up...
The repeat box is unchecked and it´s gray and i can´t check it.
My equipment is the touch pro.

Alarms going off when they're deactivated or shouldn't even exist (Vario III, WM6.1)

I thought this should be fixed by now (before I had WM5 and later WM6, where interestingly enough the problem did not occour), but actually it's worse than ever.
On my Vario III with WM6.1 I can define 3 alarms (and I don't mean notifications in the calendar or stuff like that, I'm talking about ALARMS, i.e. what gets you up in the morning ).
The problem is that all 3 Alarms remain active and go off even if they are not defined as active. Also older Alarms go off which I have deleted some time ago.
I googled on this and one site recommended MemMaid which was supposed to take care of this problem. Well, in theory it is, in practice sadly not, as it does tell me that there are no duplicate or uncorrect notifications in the notification queue - yet there I can see them with my own eyes. I tried a little bit and it's definitely those entries. I have deactivated all my alarms which should result in no entries in the NQ, yet there they remain and go off in the morning (along with all the others, existent or non-existent, active or not active). I can remove them manually to solve the problem one time, but as soon as I define some new alarms it is back again.
Can anybody help me with that. As it is I cannot use my Vario III as an alarm clock in the morning because I have no way to tell which one of the "illegal" alarms will go off, so I just put in on mute and use a regular alarm clock.
Hoi Eric, I did have the same problem (i think) with my previous WM version. When i did go on a bisiness trip and did change my Visiting time my alarm still goes of on the Home time. I where not able to fix this. I did an hard reset and never changed the visiting time until i did an rom update. Now i an running an update like this: (this is not the one, i used V8 from june, but i cant find the link)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=507281
and the problem is gone. I can set an visting time and i have no more problems. I hope this was helpful. goodluck
Try G-Alarm
I use G-Alarm and it will try to fix the Windows alarm problem the first time you run it.
G-Alarm 1.5.1 is the last free version before they went commercial.
This is not my 4shared. I only found it from a Google search. Thanks to the host for making this availible.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip. I am still not sure if this has solved the problem though. After installing G-Alarm reported to fix the Windows Alarm bug, I thought "hey, cool". Yet today in the morning again rang 2 alarms of which only one was set. I am not sure as if this "fix" was just fixing lacking functionality or if it was supposed to also remove any false alarms. In the latter case it didn't do that.
Anyway, I deactivated all alarms and then removed all the alarm entries I could find from the registry manually to make sure that there was really no alarm active. Then I set a new alarm for testing. This went off as expected, so I deactivated it and set yet a new alarm for waking me up tomorrow.
As far as I can tell from the registry this new alarm is the only one active now (for whatever reason there are 4 entries of it in the registry), but that remains to be seen tomorrow.
Will report back once I know more.
As to G-Alarm: It's a nice program, but setting up an alarm is way to much effort (I think you have to pass through 6 steps) compared to the built-in alarm function of WM. It's got some nice features, I must admit, yet all I really care about is a reliable alarm feature, that's all.
I report back and indeed G-alarm was the solution to this problem. Yet it only fixes the Alarm Bug in WM, it does not fix (delete) the false alarm entries in the registry. In order to be rid of false alarms that must be done manually. from that moment on the alarms work as they are supposed to.
Thanks for the help, guys.
I'm not so good in English ... but do you say that G-Alarm fixed your problem ? .. cause I'm having the same problem last 2 weeks ...
or the only way is doing it through the registry manual ? if yes ... can you pls PM me some instructions how to do that?

Need alarm but not ringing

Hi!
I'd like to ask for your help. What I want is to use my alarm (to wake me up) and at the same time ringing and vibration for incoming calls and SMS should be muted. I.e. alarm with phone profile set to Silent.
Currently I use Pocket WakeUp application which does not offer such possibility.
(This is no problem with my old SE K750 "dumb-phone".)
Thanks
i can suggest TWO options:
1. if you want to use the windows mobile built in alarm functionality, go to Settings->Clocks & Alarms and make sure that "Sound alarms even when the device is set to silent or vibrate" is CHECKED.
2. use "G Alarm"! you can find version 1.5.1 somewhere...it was the last version that was free. if you like it, go ahead and pay for the LATEST version. it is an EXCELLENT alarm application.
i personally use option 2. option 1 is available on most new versions of windows mobile. i'm not sure if it is present in windows mobile 6.0 but i am sure i have seen this option in every build of windows mobile 6.5 and 6.5.x that i have used.
Thanks, ASCIIker!
The problem I'm having with the 1st method is that I can't set the alarm sound to whatever I like (WM6.1)
So I'm probably going to try G Alarm.
Although it looks as though the OP has already decided to try Galarm, I thought I'd post to say that I quickly found version 1.5.1 last night and have used it succesfully today. It's a cracking little bit of kit and works as you would need it to.
You can switch your profile to mute or silent and the alarm will still go off in the morning. The added bonus for me was that you could personalise elements such as snooze time, puzzles to wake you up or prevent you snoozing, you can create a playlist of mp3's as your alarm tone, you can start other apps be default too.
Awesome bit of software and it's easy enough for a noob like me to understand.
I finally got to test Galarm. Well, on the positive side it works. And on the negative, it is quite slow on my HTC Kaiser
Edit: Well, it is slow, but it does not have to be running permanently
