Official Stock ATT Tilt 2 ROM from HTC - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

Not sure if everyone is aware, but HTC has the official shipped ROM up at: http://www.htc.com/us/support/tilt-2-att/downloads/
Here is what HTC says about the ROM:
"This software is the actual ROM that the HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T) shipped with.

If anyone wonders, it should be the "HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T) Original Ship ROM | 02.05.2010" ROM, since date is yesterday and I doubt they would make another 6.1 update.
Downloading right now and I'll check for some nifty games .

It is about time they came out with this. At least now we have an official ROM to flash back to for warranty.

yep, and a newer dialer package from att.

So I take it that those Hotfixes are not needed

Looking at the list that Ondraster posted above, the packages seem to match what I had already dumped from my ROM.
I already had the PhoneCanvas_ATT_4_3_35776_0
from my dumped ROM and have been using it since the day I got my Tilt 2.
So, I think the hot fixes are still going to have to be applied after flashing this ROM.

Radio is 4.48.25.20
There is nothing new from what I had originally in my Tilt 2. I compared the packages using Beyond Compare and found no differences from the Original stock ROM that I had. Only difference is that it is an actual shipped ROM file that we can use to flash back to stock.
I just installed one of the Hot updates and am going to install next one now. After that I will dump it and compare again.

Since this came out now, I wish they would have gave some updates. Any way , now we have official backup.
Thanks

i was wondering if they'd change the radio. interesting that they decided not to. Makes sense for me as I've had excellent coverage with the stock radio thus far.

Since I have already Hard-SPL Unlocked my phone and I have been using a cooked rom, if I go back to this official release from AT&T, would I have to Hard-SPL unlock the phone again if I wanted to put a custom cooked rom back onto the phone at a later date?

HardSPL is SOOO MUCH hard that it won't stay even if the RUU tries reflashing your SPL to something different .

Thanks! I just downloaded the file and extracted their self-extracting zip. So it has RUU_Signed.nbh and SPL_Signed.nbh inside it! If I just copy the RUU_Signed.nbh, rename it to rhodimg.nbh and execute it in a separate directory with CustomRUU.exe, that should work without the SPL file?

This is build 1.59, it´s a few months old.
Why ATT have posted this?

Its the stock ROM that shipped with the Tilt 2..nothing new here. Its just another option for people to do a warranty exchange, if needed.

Thats what I did and the flash went great

biggest size TP2 rom ever!
270Mb ROM , it is very big one

I wonder why they would post this as it will just allow people to hide the fact they they have voided their warranty. There is zero reason anyone would need this if they have never flashed to a custom ROM, and if they flashed to a custom ROM and voided their warranty why would HTC care to help them? Maybe they got sick of getting a lot of flashed returns and were not charging for them because they know it doesn't hurt the phone?

Updating Radio ROM

I have a MDA VARIO flashed with an Imate Kjam ROM (one of the first found here). Radio is stil 01.01.10
I want to flash my RADIO ROM. Is it as simple as this? (found in thread here)
Download and install the radio update utility - http://rapidshare.de/files/10717194/Wizard_GSM_11210.exe.html
I ask because I think there are also ROM updates that come with OS and Radio? And Also I read about the ROM tool that can do this. More roads lead to Rome I guess but the executable seems the easiest way to go.
Another way is to use aWizard 1.2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37386
Unfortunately I've found separete Radio ROM image just in Portugal Brazilian ROM archive (1.13.10, ftp://xda:[email protected]/HTC_Wizard/Roms/Qtek/QTEK_9100_portuguese.rar)

I ran the executable without Vario attached. It warned that it also deletes the full pda. Guess I can better update to the offial uk t-mobile ROM at once then.

Kenji776 look at the size of this utility... full rom is about 45Mb. It is coocked from standard rom upgrade utility, that's why you can see the standard warnings.

I don't think he meant it in a sarcastic way. I think he meant is there a way to quantify your findings.
I would like to improve the sound quality of my wizard, also. I'm especially concerned with the earpiece volume and the speakerphone clarity for the called party. Everyone I talk to on the speakerphone says it sounds very "scratchy" and full of "static".
Did yours sound this way before you upgraded, and does it still sound that way?
Thx.

T-MOBILE UK 2.21.2.6 WWE ROM ON FTP - WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Hardylane has uploaded on the FTP what appears to be T-Mobile UK's new ROM for the Wizard:
T-Mobile MDA Vario (on AKU2)
ROM: 2.21.2.6 WWE
ROM date: 3/9/06
Radio ROM: 02.19.11
Extended ROM: 2.21.2.109
Can anybody post detailed instructions to install the new ROM on our Varios? there is no installer, so I don't know what to do with the uploaded file.
The thread is there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=53816
Cheers
Here are some problems you can expect to face going this route.
First, you will need to upgrade your devices to 2.x IPL/SPL (bootloader)
Second, aWizard doesn't work with 2.x boatloaders for write operations such as putting Roms onto the phone.
Third, in order to use a RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility) you need .nb files which can be packed into "nk.nbf"
Has anyone checked with T-Mobile to see if they have released a RUU package with this version of the Rom?
Even better, is it AKU 2.0, AKU 2.2 or AKU 2.3?
thanks for your thoughts.
The uploaded ROM comes from a recently sold Wizard. Is there anything hardylane can do to make the new ROM more easily transferred onto existing Wizards?
First, to see if it is worth the trouble, have her check the AKU version.
Start > Settings > System > About, look on the second line "OS 5.1.195( Build 14955.2.3.0)" is how mine reads. This important numbers are the .2.3.0, what does she see?
.2.0.0 is AKU 2.0
.2.2.0 is AKU 2.2
.2.3.0 is AKU 2.3
Unless it is AKU 2.3 I wouldn't get too excited about it. There are several AKU 2.3 Roms posted on the FTP which are based of a test (but stable) T-Mobile US Rom. I would recommend you guys go for the "Mr. Clean" Rom. Then find the forum that has custom splash screens & extended roms for each carrier.
This will get you to AKU 2.3 (the latest). It might be a good idea to get the official Extended Rom which I see is included the the uploaded file. I'm sure the OP in the Splash screen thread would be happy to give you guys a RUU with it.
kyphur,
For me, it's definatly worth the hassle... i've had the Qtek 'test only' update for a while now, which has enabled me to use push email, but T-Mobile UK have been dragging their heels on releasing the official UK rom update.
The owner of this Wizard has posted the official UK T-Mo rom which was ripped off his phone.

they're nba files.
The link to the files is this:

When unzipped, you get
roms-OS.nba and roms-Radio.nba, plus the ExtROM
Does it help?

nba :S
my bad
I am looking into this, but I do need a good dump of the Radio Rom if possible.
Here are the pitfalls:
There are issues with aWizard and 2.x Bootloaders so we might have to use a known good European Radio Rom like 2.17/2.21 if we can't get the Radio Rom to dump.
We will also need to flash a 2.x Bootloader. Again I can graft the 2.17 or 2.21 bootloader from another RUU Package.
Finally, are you guys CID unlocked? I can build a ROM with the T-Mobile CID (WIZTMO04) But I don't know that there is a RUU exe that will work with a 2.x rom using that CID.
Re:
Uploading..... (please wait.)

Sorry guys, I can't be any more help than I did. I just ripped out the Roms and posted them!
I also uploaded the AKU2 instruction book (scanned PDF)
The ROM is definately AKU2 only. Build is 14847.2.0.0
The only advantage this has is that it's a pukka UK T-Mobile ROM
does this rom have GOOD reception? if so can someone extract the RADIO ROM?
Someone is deleting things from uploads again, which is irritating the crap out of me.
has anyone else got the new t-mobile uk rom for the wizard?
summiter it looks like the nba files and ext rom have already been moved from the uploads directory to the Wizard Roms/Radio Roms/Ext Roms directorys.
What this means is that we've now got AKU2 ext Roms cabs which can be used with the Mr Clean install ... ie a UK customised version of AKU2.3 Anyone of your rom rolling experts care to put that into an installer
If this was done would the phone need to be CID unlocked ?

Original Trinity ROM

Anyone know where I can get a copy of the original trinity ROM. I need to send mine back to HTC and don't fancy leaving the Dopod version on.

there you can find the RapidShare links to some available ROMs

Are there any issues rolling backwards with ROM's?

I rolled back to the original ROM from the Dopod ROM without any problems.
thanks for directing us to this ROM... now that i have this, i can test the Dopod ROM with/GPS and return to the HTC version if necessary.

Good question
Confused Tofush
I just got my HTC P3600 few days ago. I am still researching about flashing ROM and stuffs. If I somehow want return back to the original ROM (ROM ver 1.15.405.5 WWE) from RUU, will it include the ExtROM ver 1.15.405.101 in the download? If not, do anyone know where I can access the ExtROM ver that came with my phone initially? Thank you very much for your help.

How to Dump a ROM

Here is How to Dump a ROM
(courtesy pof)
Make sure to upload both Part01.raw (XIP) and Part02.raw (IMGFS) !!
Put it on XDA FTP, Rapidshare or whereever.
It would be nice to have complete dumps from pre-production and normal models.
We can then reconstruct both ROMs as described here.
I uploaded production ROM on ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Smartphone/Wings/ROM (Production model)/
I am not sure if this matters, but i didn't install HardSPL on my device, i just backed up SPL and dumped ROM.

Try this ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Smartphone/Wings/ROM (Production model)/
That works. Thanks!
I've got a pre-prod dump done by 'motin' some months ago.
Unfortunately he only dumped Part02.raw and Part01.raw is missing
Although from Part02.raw we can see which files are in it, it's not enough to reconstruct a ROM from the dump. So it's time for some other pre-prod owners to dump their ROM !
Furthermore I spoke with JugglerLKR, he is the genius behind the Kaiser ROM kitchen. He says that an official HTC base ROM for Wings is absolutely necessary to reconstruct a ROM from a dump. Of course it's just a matter of time before one appears, but if one of you stumbles over one please let us know.

So the Kaiser "RUU_signed.nbh" won't work to reconstruct Wings roms ?
If we have to wait for HTC to release a rom, it could be long

HTC Rom tool is working perfectly to convert the .nb files to .nbh with model WING**** .
The problem is here to make .nb files from the .raw's we dumped.
The Kaiser Kitchen can do it, but it also needs a "RUU_signed.nbh" file, next to the .raw's.
This "RUU_signed.nbh" file must be extracted from an official *WINGS* ROM update from HTC (using winRAR).
Jockyw2001 correct me if I'm wrong

So this is dead until HTC releases an update?? That sucks.
not necessarily if we can determine the differences between pre-prod and prod
but for that we need a complete pre-prod dump first ...
I sent mails, private messages, icq messages to rafuz and some other guy here that have preproduction model, and also to one from MoDaCo forum, to dump that ROM but no respond yet.
It looks like we are so close, but not enough.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=10476176#post10476176
I started this thread. I know that there are a few floating around over there.
Some good news!!
Rafuz replied to my mail! He really wants to help but travels a lot so can't access internet all the time. I sent him all the instructions how to dump the ROM and he will contact me when it's done.
thanks armac!! we are so close... hope its not hardware problem
I want to say BIG THANK YOU to rafuz!!!!
ROM dump is uploaded here ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/ROM (Pre-production model)/S730_Pre_Prod.zip
So, what can we do with it and without official HTC base ROM??

Factory ROMS?

Pretty new to this, had smart phones before but never flashed them.... I like the look of Duttys work but was wondering where I could get a backup HTC Factory UK ROM? so I can flash it back if I dont like the new ROM?
ps its an Orange Touch HD!
mine is also an Orange Uk Touch HD, I restored it the other day using the Orange ROM at the bottom of this page on Dutty's website
http://www.duttythroy.net/download-area.html?func=select&id=35&orderby=2&page=2
Ahhhhh thanks very much! appreciate the pointers!
Why did you flash it back to factory? I've read that cooked roms are faster and more responsive?
Also did you have to unlock it first? mine is still locked to Orange
Sorry about all the questions.
The roms posted on duttys website for orange are well, not the latest 1s from orange i compared it when i ran the setup, i have rom version 1.19.61.1, which is also shown in system > device informatin

Please dump the ROM following the instructions in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427507 or this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3078601&postcount=4.
You can rebuild it using the nbh from the official HTC 1.19 WWE ROM.
After that please upload it and post the link, so it can be added to the wiki.
Thanks,

Flashes ok with the custom RUU wrapper and from the storage card in the the hard spl
Rom version is 1.19.61.1 WWE (says D 1.14.22273 on the boot up?) and it has an orange animation on startup, OS is 5.2.20757 (Build 20764.1.4.3)
Thanks for the rom!
Thnx for testing it for me, i was in abit of a doubt, any chance you can give more feedback wat your opinion is on that rom which i uploaded

Thanks, I'm thinking of flashing duttys rom at some point on my new HD can I use this to get back to stock orange in case i have to send it back? or will I have to extract my rom and rebuild that? (My HD is showing the same rom version 1.19.61.1 although slightly higher OS version of 5.2.20764)

Only includes the OS, no radio. ROM seemed stable and quick once it was running but took ages for it to shut down - probably to do with it having to show the orange animation on shutdown.
radio can be downloaded from duttys website, and use that radio if u ever wanted to return the phone, make sure u download the correct 1
