hmm...
im a complete noob at this but I do recall watching a html5 video saying it will support 2 video formats ogg, and i think the other was mp4 but im curious as how you got the html5 and flashlite on your nexus one
Html5 needs to be supported by what ever browser you are using from my understanding. Needs built in support.
HTML 5 is already supported by the most recent version of webkit we have on our N1's. See below
Copied from:http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.0-highlights.html#UserFeatures
Browser
Refreshed UI with actionable browser URL bar enables users to directly tap the address bar for instant searches and navigation.
Bookmarks with web page thumbnails.
Support for double-tap zoom.
Support for HTML5:
Database API support, for client-side databases using SQL.
Application cache support, for offline applications.
Geolocation API support, to provide location information about the device.
<video> tag support in fullscreen mode.

Im wondering if Cyanogen or any of the developers could edit the webkit to get it to work as it is claimed to work with h264 codec. It seems its already there we just need for our browser to recognize. Can someone please help with this? Devs? This would be a huge jump that we would cross and would not have to twiddle our thumbs waiting for Flash..

Do you mind sharing/providing the link to the king 2.1 hero?
I did a search and found a kings 2.1 hero rom, but not sure if it's the right one or not. I believe the one I found was for the My Touch.
Also, when installing the flashlite seems to work, but it won't let me install the flashplayer.
Can you provide some insight, pls?
Thanks in advance!
kings 2.1
Wow search the forum. Its in the Dream section I found it and installed the flash but doesnt work not sure what browser everyones using or how they called the flash to work but I tried dolphin browser, android browser and steel browser no luck.
any updates on this?
on xscope setting the phone to iPad user agent gives u the HTML5 Gmail site (why the hell is that not available for ALL browsers, mobile or not is beyond me) it works, granted not well due to resolution, but still proof of concept..
The Modaco Desire rom has FlashLite in it. It works very nicely.

if I remember the html5 beta correctly not every video is taking advantage of it yet so you will still get a message saying you need flash installed on a lot of videos, past that it shouldn't ask you for flash when viewing anything in html5 and right now html5 video is probably not supported in android browser.

I know this question is probably very out dated, but as i tried to find a post on this on the forums, i couldnt find anything about it, or by googling it, but the question,
Is there an update to put multi-touch on my G1? But not a whole OS update, just the multi touch by itself i can just dump in my phone kinda like a theme.
I dont know much about all of this, so and hints would be great.
thanks.
You claim you searched, but I call B.S. If you had, you'd know that MT is available by pushing Loccy's browser to a cupcake build, and that Hero browser's have MT by default.
Oh, and questions should be posted in Q&A. Hence the name of that sub-forum.

dont know if im searching wrong or what,
And I updated my G1 build to AOSP1.6_r1.2+ADP DRC92 ROM, and as i said in the OP, I dont know much about all this so "pushing Loccy's browser to a cupcake build" pretty much doesnt help me at all.

read, search, read some more... easiest way to learn all info for beginners is to read through all of the stickies at the top of the forum. from there you should have an idea of where to go. in order to push Loccys browser you need ADB. this is all in the stickies. so get to reading and then hit me up on gtalk - [email protected]
Don't even need adb, to be honest. You can install his browser by simply downloading/copying it to the sd card and clicking on it through Astro or Linda File Manager. Installs like any apk.
Is it possible to integrate multi touch into the Gallery? In the future, or as a root only app?

ADB is not required. He said he is running "The Official" so all he needs is the exp pack & terminal. Or he could simply place it on his SD and
Code:
rwsystem
cp /sdcard/Browser-bb15-donut.apk /system/app/Browser.apk

Wasn't sure it would install properly through package installer. Results vary depending on which rom. I haven't tried that with the one he is using because the exp pack handles all that.

Hero roms have it in Album so it is possible. Just don't think anybody has really messed with it much yet. I read a while back someone made an app that does it with picture rotation and all that. Can't remember what it was called so if anyone recalls feel free to chime in. It was part of a product designed to make non-touchscreen phones have multi-touch function. I don't think it ever actually surfaced though. The guy who made it is supposedly taking apple to court over it or something.

this a thing where something called opinion comes into play.

Have u tried downloading the Ustream Viewer? Search the Market for it.
Live games on hd (wihtout having flash on 3g network)
Ok so i been looking around a way to watch the world cup on my tmobile cliq for a while. and i came across with a way to watch it on my phone (WHICH DOESNT REQUIRED TO HAVE FLASH)
SO THIS SHOULD WORK WITH ANY ANDROID PHONE THAT DOESNT HAVE FLASH.
THE ONLY ONE PROBLEM IS THAT THE WEBSITE THAT STREAMING THE GAME ONLINE IS ONLY IN SPANISH****Srry but theres no other place that i have try that would work on the phone without flash.
for the best performance please connect your phone on the best data connection...which is (3G) so the stream will go smoothly without any stops.
ok now just follow the steps below AND ENJOY
Step #1
Download Skyfire on the android market. (Or with the Apk Link below)

Step #2
After Downloading Skyfire Open the app and just follow the steps it requires when you first open Skyfire, Ok after evrything is loaded type in your address bar on top with the following link futbol.univision.com/fifacopamundial/partidos-en-vivo
(MAKE SURE YOU TYPE IT RIGHT OR IT WONT WORK)
Step #3
after the page is loaded you should see a pop out in your left corner of a video just as the picture below
CLICK ON THE VIDEO AND LET IT LOAD....IS SHOULD TAKE A COUPLE OF SECONDS TO LOAD BASED ON YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION...SO IF UR NOT CONNECT ON 3G IS GOING TO TAKE A LITTLE BIT OF TIME TO LOAD.
*******AFTER THAT THE VIDEO SHOULD LOAD PERFECTLY AND ENJOY ....
***EVEN THOUGH IS IN SPANISH, U GET TO WATCH IT LIVE ****
didn't seem to work for me. maybe because im in canada
moved to Q&A
I tried using Skyfire and could get audio but no video, so it kinda works. I have found that the Ustream viewer available in the market to be better. You have to search around for a feed of the games, but you can usually find them but the quality isn't the greatest.
http://www.livetv.pk
this is a very nice project so i am interested to learn about it, so before visiting your site i visit to this site which is giving me the freshness by giving the live watching sourding activities. so help me in your positive project.

Thanks very much for the support
It's darn slow to load the page. Can't run videos.

It would be nice to have an app for each of the mobile platforms...
This will be great! Right now it doesn't work so good with ie9 wp7 mango. I can't scroll on first page. When I press on one link I only see back button and upper left corner of the movie frame (it's zoomed in I think and I can't scroll). If I press video it starts playing so that is working.
Thanks for sharing, hopefully you can fix it Best of luck!
I'm working on that, the WP7 browser (IE9) has a lot of incompatibilities with WebKit(as usual from Microsoft...)
Its not Microsofts fault.
Its yours.
The webapp only works in WebKit browsers.
It doesn't work very well in any other browser.
Not in Firefox, not in Opera, not in IE.
I have seen some errors in your CSS.
I haven't seen the JS yet.

Ok, WebKit browsers are dominating the mobile market, Android and iOS use them, and latest version of Firefox works with my code, Chrome does too, IE historically has a lot of problems and incompatibilities.
For me what I think is that you never tried to develop web apps for multiple browsers and felt into the nightmare of IE!
I imagine it is much the same as windows mobile...they set some standards and then change their mind and break it all.
Samsung Galaxy S (stock v2.3.3)and XDA TV Dark Edition
Installed it today and seems cannot close it anywhere. Back button doesn't do anything and neither Menu.
What? You can't close a webapp?
EDIT: Ahh, you're talking about the XDA TV app, but at the wrong thread. I'm trying to work around that problem, but it seems to insist. At the time you need to kill the app using a task manager if it's wasting your battery that much.

I am a webdeveolper. I've made a lot of websites and applications.
So id do know how hard i can be to make things work in every browser. Thats whzy i do know that the problem is in your code! I had a look in the html-file and in the css and i have found a few errors.
Maybe something like this could help you: validator.w3.org
It works everywhere except for IE. Those aren't errors, but incompatibility issues with the Microsoft fragmentation in IE.

No. It does not. It isn't working in Opera Mobile on Android.
It doesn't work very well on a desktop firefox and on other desktop browsers.
It work ONLY in webkit browsers.
You can casll it what ever you want. IE (and other browsers) aren't doing anything wrong.
You are using stuff that works only in webkit. So it's not a incompatibility in IE or something.
It's a incompatibility in your webapp.
Use standard HTML, CSS and JS and it should work on IE!
This is having the same problems as the android application. It's not showing any of the more recent videos of the last couple of months.
Sorry, I've been working hard and also trying to completely redesign the XDA TV app so I can't update the feed, but I'll try to do it today.
Sorry
great S/W....iwill try
Just updated the app feed. My hands hurt after copying, pasting and wget'ing all those videos
Excellent.
Perhaps with a few mods we can generate a script directly from the Xda Podcast util.
I think I updated it a while back to generate a python script (to drive the youtube fetching script) from a Youtube user feed. The GUI isn't too obvious as I was quickly seeing if it would work or not, so might see if I can improve it.
Unfortunately I had problems getting python to run on my budget tablet I intended to use with it, so not done any more on it.

Photon Browser is.... so... broken. It barely works and make the Nexus 5 seem like a slow piece of crap!
Bump..
Bump... Is there nothing else ?
Well... Flash support has been dropped since 4.1. Some browsers have been working until now but it seems Google has decided against flash for good. I think we won't see flash on 4.4 at least until browsers get updated...

Firefox indeed works with Flash player on Nexus 4, and on SGS2 with CM10.2.
I wish I had my N5 to test it.
Have you tried boat browser?

No, it doesn't work on the N5 with KitKat at the moment.

puffin browser
I can confirm that flash is working on my nexus 5 when using the paid version of puffin web browser (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmosa.puffin&hl=en), I dont know about the free version, I believe it has a trial to it. I tested with a few random games from miniclip and flash works. Give it a try OP
Have you tried lightning browser? It is supposed to support flash and is light on resources to boot.

Puffin is a cloud browser. You're not technically running flash, its just that Puffin's servers are streaming it to you. IMHO, the quality isn't the same.
I too can't get flash to work on N5, but works on my N4, N7, N10, & G2. Probably not going to update those to Kit Kat if flash don't work.
I've been watching live sports via flash streams using the Photon Browser. It's a little quirky and has a lot of ads, but it gets the job done.

There must be a fix, Flash was one of the reasons I went with android to begin with. Being able to play flash content when you need it is essential!

Agreed!
Has anyone tried installing Flash and Dolphin Browser and then deleted the preferences file for Dolphin? That's the fix I used on my Nexus 4 and has worked forever since. For some reason my N4 now seems to have lost root so can't get into the data folder to see where the file is exactly. I'll have a go tonight once I have my N5 and rooted it.
No idea what's going on with my N4, think it's feeling replacement depression and rebelling against me haha!
Try Puffin, a cloud rendering browser, here's the trial version:
