Here's the O2 Plus beta which I got off my GF's Mini Works great and who needs 3rd parties plug in now
reply
And whats this supposed to be???
Inspection of the CAB file shows it to be some kind of today plugin called O2+tdy.dll and an associated exe called 02plus.exe.
Wary about installing at the moment - may look later!
Anyone else willing to try and give some feedback as to what it does?
It's a Today's plugin from O2... It adds things like Alarm, Call divert status, profile, batt status, memory status, MSN Messager status, application shortcuts etc etc to your Today's menu or the bottom task bar.. It's even more useful than Battery Pack Pro IMO.
So far, it's only available for download from a Mini, and it's still in Beta stage, but I have no problem using it on my IIs so far.
It might slow your BA down quite a bit if you have the Today's menu plugn on, but I'm only using the bottom task bar plugin and so far it's excellent. Give it a shot if you don't trust me
Doesn't want to run on my O2 XDAIIs (UK) version.
Installs ok - but get the following error message when plugin is activated omn today screen;
"O2 plus for XDA application is designed for O2 devices which can't run on other devices"
Informative eh ?!?
Cheers
Mark
Wait... On my IIs, I'm running Imate ROM but with cooked original O2 Ext. ROM, I guess the program checks for provider of the Ext. ROM??? What are you running?
Original software & ROM as supplied by O2 UK.
Another thing to note - when plugin is installed, the screen on my XDAIIs seems to try & refresh every 5 seconds or so ... very annoying (You can see it physically flicker & refresh). Just disabled the plugin (even though it doesn't work) and the problem has gone away !!
Anyone else having any luck on an XDAIIs ?
Cheers
Mark
I will give it a try... lets have a look what happens
Get an error after install saying O2 plus for Xda application is designed for o2 devices, which can't run on other devices. Seems to think its installed, if you go into
Start > Settings > Today - Items Tab ... seems to be there, get the same error when you try to go into it's options too. Never mind, im running the Imate CE rom, listings in my sig.
o2-plus is designed for xda IIs , mini , PM10A and PH20B.
If you use other devices (include xdaII) , you will receive error message.
Glad to report that this one works just fine !!
Installed on my XDAIIs, and now 'playing' with the additionnal icons that have appeared at the bottom.
Many Thanks
Mark

I'm more believed that it is categorized as a Pocketpc phone instead of a smartphone. (correct ? )
due to the touchscreen compared to the non-touch with smartphone ??
the reason I ask is because I do own a pocketpc (Axim X51V) & also a smartphone (S621 Excalibur ) ...
with many softwares for both devices above & planning to get the Kaiser as well ... so ... which categorize version of software do I install on the Kaiser ??
PocketPC or Smartphone ???
I thought I am sure I knew that it is a "PocketPC" based phone until I saw more then one vendors placed it in the "smartphone area"
...when browsing online vendors, they have displayed the Kaiser in both categories ... The majority of them lean towards PocketPC though
thank for any info

Heres a question. Is the TomTom Plus device code tied to the version of Navigator.
IE - If I install TT7 on my diamond (which currently has my TT6 installed with a device code for my tomtom plus profile) will it have the same device code (this is nothing to do with product codes/serial numbers/activation codes etc).
yes! on the same device u have the same Device ID on all tt versions.
Excellent - thats all i needed, a nice concise answer
When the screan on my HTC diamond is off ther is no new SMS notifications. When I turn the screan on sometime i get 3 or 4 new mesages at the same time.I do not recive any SMS notifications when the screan is off and I can not hold the screan on all the time. Does anybody have any solutions. I upgraded my WM 6.1 to WM 6.5 just for you to know.
Pleas help if you know the solution!!!
Search for 'Wake Device on New SMS'
Many tools can enable this.
This is an acknowledged problem for which HTC have published a software hotfix:
As a new user I'm currently unable to post links. If you go the HTC product support page and view the list of downloads you should see it there.
i did try hotfix from htc but it does not work, maybe it is becouse I upgraded my diamond 2 from windows mobile 6.1 to windows mobile 6.5. I suspect that the problem is in signal strenght becouse sometime is signal very strong and in next minut at the same place signal is very weak? does anybodu have any ideas?

In WM 6.5 those fixes are no longer needed they are already in the Rom-update.
Get the program Touch Tools for HTC with this tool you can activate "wake up device"
I did find the Solution. Problem was in the signal strenght. I did install a newer version of a radio. my old version vas 4.49.25.17 and now I have install a version 4.49.25.91 and now it is all work properly. thanks everibody
The Noke Lumia 820 and 920 have a very great Field Test Display that could be reaced with ##3282# (Apollo) or ##3282 (Portico). But an the HTC 8X and 8S this code doesn't work. :crying:
Maybe the HTC Phones have already the necessary files in the firmware but just need other code that no one know. Than I think it should bei possible to locate the files in the directory and make a own icon to reach the Field Test Display.
But maybe the firmware of the HTC 8X and 8S doesn't contain the Field Test Display Files. Is it possible to extract the program files from a Nokia Lumia 820 or 920 and copy than on a HTC 8X or 8S? Or need program files to bei signed for a specific phone?
I think this can't be done easily, because the field test made by nokia are API related to their own phones, it means, the info is provided by the hardware itself, specific hardware calls.
The radio module of each brand is different compared to another brand, even when HTC and Nokia have both WP8 devices, the radio module firmware is totally proprietary and is difficult to port to another device with different radio module.
In short: If you want field test on your HTC device, HTC needs to provide it.
works too in my Lumia 620, using the ##3282
##3282 still works on 920 after the 1314 update. Unbranded 920, PC 059Q8T8. Might be different for carrier provided handsets.
Try ##DIAG# (##3424#) or ##MFG# (##364#) or variations on those. I think my HD7 used DIAG.
