Ok I tried looking on the forum for a similar problem with Eclipse but I can't seem to find anything of interest.
Basically I'm trying to start a new Android Project, the menu that pops out is missing the list of target sdks, and therefore I cant proceed with the setup of the project. Anyone had a similar case?I ll try to provide you with some screen caputres.
Im running Ubuntu 9.10 and the latest updates. Thanks for all the advice
Not to be annoying but this is in the wrong sect.
Post in Q&A sect when you have a question.
I've gotta say, it is pretty misleading with the whole "development" section, just remember that development is for publishing and the rest goes in the other subforums.

Anyone know what appears to be an android live wallpaper on the Samsung Continuum on US Cellular?
It is displayed in the video on this page:

If you do, it is greatly appreciated. Even more, if you can tell me how to get it and install
Thanks,

Install like any other apk http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13765981/USCC-live-wallpaper-0.91.apk
I want to thank you in advance.
I don't pretend to know what all of you know. I have been here in the past, and it was never a problem, I hope my questions now and lack of knowledge about it is not a problem NOW.
The only way I know how to install any apk file I have had in the past is with the apkinstaller application--Is that right?
With that being said, I don 't have the wallpaper. That was my main question.
Might you , or anyone have it? If so, will it be of type *.apk??
Thanks for your attempt to solve my problem. I sincerely appreciate it.

1. click and download the ".apk" file posted above and download it to your computer.
2. (if you dont already have it) download Astro File Manager from the Android market.
3. plug your phone to your computer and select to use as usb drive on your phones screen.
4. drag and drop the .apk file mentioned above into your phone's SD card storage (if you can't find it, open mycomputer, you should see the SD card storage there.. place it in the "downloads" directory to find easily) once copied over, unplug your phone from your computer
5.now open Astro and navigate to the .apk, click it and install.. it will then be in your live wallpapers list
--- this can also be done directly from your phone in case you're not posting from a pc
THANK YOU
1. It says "We Can't Find This Page Anymore"
2. I "used" to use Astro File Manager, at someones suggestion, and then I found when I downloaded a wallpaper I may have sent to myself from my computer, or something similar, more easily found or manipulated if I used the "Files" program on the Galaxy phones
Well, I just realized as I am typing that, that that with me buying the MyTouch 4g on Wed, that HTC doesn't prolly have that file manager, and I will have to go back to the Astro app, correct
It isn't much worse is it, if at all. I just found it easier to select a file, then "move", then "to" to move a file out of the download folder
Can you straighten out my probably very skewed viewpoint on that LOL
And can you possibly find what you had found, but the link is broken?
Thanks for your help so quickly
Eric
Ok so here's this application that I made in Automator for myself and I figured that if anyone wants it, it's here. This is a Mac OS X only app. What does this app do? It wipes the data and dalvik cache on the phone twice. It is quite quick and easy. What will you need to do to your Mac before running this application? You simply need to add adb to the .bash_profile path settings. (This means that from anywhere in terminal, you can type adb and run adb.) Then just put your phone into recovery mode and run this app. This is an alpha build as I have not tried it on my own phone yet. However it should work as I've coded it and it has NO potential to brick the phone
Download Here!
EDIT: Currently the program is not working, I will make a new one and upload ASAP.

Hmmm, thats a good question. (I'm just hopping in with what I know, so OP feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, which I probably am.)
From what I know, Automator is basically a workflow creation/utilization program. Do most Linux distros come packaged with anything like that, or does one exist?
This might be an alternative:
"GNU Xnee is a suite of programs that can record, replay and distribute user actions under the X11 environment. Think of it as a robot that can imitate the job you just did."
http://askubuntu.com/questions/343/alternative-for-mac-os-x-automator
I tried to post to the developer threads but I don't have 10 posts so it wouldn't let me. Sorry if this is the wrong place.
I have the source, the raw commands, for an APK file. I am trying to find out how to get from here, to a file I can upload to the Android Market (where I have an account).
Can anyone spell it out, as a 1-2-3, for a noob who is struggling?
I believe I have to compile the raw source... using software I download to my PC (APKtool?).
Is that correct? As part of this, is there anything special I need to do, other than just copy in the source code?
I also learned that I need to 'sign' it as well. Is that done from the compiler/APKtool, or automatically via the market?
If anyone could just spell this out in simple steps... well... I'd be very very grateful.
I am hoping that someone with an Ativ S can download the "DiagnosticTool_Sprint" from the Windows Phone store and upload it here. It is available if you set "oemId=htc" in fiddler. I think there are some hidden pages we can use to interop unlock HTC.
Link:
"DiagnosticTool_Sprint" for Windows Phone http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=e69a2877-59b8-43ed-898d-554fbc4b8b2b
Thanks!
To be clear, you are asking that somebody download this HTC app to their phone and install it, then use the MTP full file system access to extract the binaries for reverse engineering? Sounds like a plan, if I could persuade my phone to do the full file system access thing right now I would (away from home, on my Surface RT right now).

Hi
first to download this app we need someone with a sprint device to grab correct url using fiddler.
like this one:
Code:
http://marketplaceedgeservice....................os=8.0.10512.0&cc=us&lang=en-us&hw=268473858&moid=sfr-fr/
this way we can have correct hw & moid value & install on any device...
@GoodDayToDie yup. that is what I am asking for. Based on what @thals1992 saw when he was playing with this on his 8XT is that depending on what dial codes you put in, the same app loads with different pages.
@xboxmod the only thing that needs to be changed to enable downloading from the store is the oemId. It needs to be HTC. I was able to download it to my T-Mobile Branded 8x (which Sprint doesn't even sell) with no issues. (it's moID is "null" for some reason on my phone after applying GDR3 and hard resetting)

I did manage to extract the DiagnosticTool_Sprint and it's now an unencrypted xap, the data.zip is all the files how I found them on my phone (with the exact path to the program and the appdata).
I will decompile The dlls and Look for hidden pages

@GoodDayToDie @xboxmod Apparently there is a capability called <!--Capability Name="ID_CAP_NVREADWRITE" /-->. Too bad it's commented out in their manifest :/ I wonder what it does? (besides the obvious, based on the name)
edit:
I was able to plug in my phone and Windows Updates decided to install drivers! I now have "HTC Diagnostic Interface (Com 6)", HTC NEMA Interface (Com 8)", "HTC USB Modem", and "HTC Remote NDIS-Based Device" (this one is currently Code 10.) Thanks Sprint! >
Hi
So I want to learn how to make Android apps in Android Atudio with Udacity's Android Fundamentals course. I have no knowledge or experience in app-development and very very veeeeerry basic programming knowledge. The problem is though that there are many error messages everywhere and I already searched on the internet a few times but have newer gotten a working answer to the problems I'm having. So I thought i could ask the people at the xda-forum for help
I am going to post the problems one after another (posting the next problem after the one before is fixed), because maybe with one answer multiple problems get fixed.
Also I completely reinstalled Android Studio just to be sure I didn't create any more problems myself.
The first problem is that there is an error message saying:
failed to find Build Tools revision and then the Version specified in the build.gradle
I know that I need to change the SDK versions in the build.gradle file but I cant find where you can look up the Build Tools Version currently installed. By the way I want to compile for android Marshmallow hoping that it also works for Android Lollipop if that helps in any way
I am thanking in advance to everyone trying to help me

Did you check on the Sdk manager whether you have the needed build tools installed?
I don't comprehend what the correct name is for s highlight this way, yet I will simply depict it.
I am utilizing android studio and I included some java classes from an alternate venture. Presently it says
"missing bundle articulation: whatever". Be that as it may, there is not alternative in the mistake popup to simply naturally include the missing bundle articulation. I know it appears to be lethargic to not sort it, but rather I get a kick out of the chance to do things rapidly.
At the point when there is a mistake this way, is there a route for android studio to naturally included the required lines of code like obscuration would?
For Windows/Linux, you can go to File -> Settings -> Editor -> General -> Auto Import -> Java and make the following changes:
change "Insert imports on paste" dropdown value to "All"
check "Add unambiguous imports on the fly" option
On a Mac, do the same thing in Android Studio -> Preferences
That way, as you type, or when you copy and paste, many imports will be added automatically. Those that aren't are ambiguous; put the cursor on the class, press alt+enter and select which version of the class you meant.
