[METAMORPH] HERO FULL THEME 'the real hero' [UPDATE: NEW METAMORPH FORMAT] (05/06/10)

*NEW UPDATE 05/06/10* So, I updated the Hero theme with the new xml Metamorph format. I also added a few things to framework. Added sliding animations as well instead of the regular ones. Hope ya like it! [/B]
One thing though...IF you do get a Pop Up about Market messing up...no worries. This happens because of the framework-res change with metamorph.
BONAFIDE SOLUTION: Go into Settings, then Applications, then Manage Applications...look for Market..click on it..and then click on 'Uninstall Updates'. Once that's done...BAM! yA dOnE! All fixed! So yeah, apart from that..this thing's good to go!
CYANOGEN USERS WANTING THE BLACK NOTIFICATION BAR: Flash the Black Notification Bar first(recovery), then flash my theme(metamorph)
SUGGESTIONIf you have a white notification bar, and you really don't think the black hero launcher matches that, you can always go to my other thread and download the white hero launcher I have there. There's a screenshot in the OP of that thread if you wanna see what that looks like. The htc calendar is from the market and it's called 'Pure Calendar Widget' and the people widget is also from the market and it's called 'Contact Sidebar'. Hope that helps!

One is Koxx's calender grid app and I forgot the name of the contacts app. Both are in the market though.

Has anyone tried this on anything other than cyanogen?

The metamorph should work with any rom. and i see that you have a darkstar theme already, so that should take care of the black bar. but i also would want to know how the metmorphs work for other roms. it is really is made for any 1.6 rom. maybe you can. try it out and let me know.

ok did the metamorph and then applied the framework-res threw terminal and everything works fine and looks good except for the clock in the top right corner it doesnt show its just black

Hmm...well, i will take the framework-res.apk off and get that fixed. Thanks for letting me know. I was debating just trying to make the framework available for metamorph as well and seeing if it works since that's much simpler and easier. Sorry about the inconvenience.
EDIT: WENT AHEAD AND REMOVED THE FRAMEWORK-RES AND WILL TRY TO GET THAT BACK (FIXED) ASAP

If you love the sense ui look as much as I do, then you should download "PandaHero - Hero Style Home" from the marketplace. I have attached a screen shot to get a better understanding of why this is needed. For the first time, the buttons at the bottom actually function like they do with sense ui. The left for apps, center for phone, right for settings. Absolutely must have app for anyone who loves hero themes.

I have actually tried this app before, and yes, you are right. It is very much like having sense on the g1, but the thing that got me off that app was that it runs like the sense ui rom on the g1, which is...slow. Very slow with this app..which is why I wanted to make this theme because I really like sense ui, and I didn't want the slowness that came with it, and this metamorph gives one the sense look without slowing down the phone because it is only 2MB. I'm glad you shared though, because ppl might not mind the lag, and it's beneficial because ppl don't have to flash anything. Again, thanks for sharing.

No problem man. Believe it or not, I didn't really mind the lag of actual hero roms, so the lag from this app isn't that bad in comparison. The ONLY reason I didn't stick with hero rom's is because I love my bluetooth more then sense ui.

This is a metamorph theme, not meant to be flashed via recovery. Use metamorph to get this on your phone. Do you know how to use metamorph?

New Sense(Desire) Theme

Has anyone ported this theme over to our phones yet? Any help would be appreciated

I too would like this, however I've taken a look at the files in the Desire Roise.apk and (obviously) they are a higher resolution for the Desires screen so would need a lot of resizing done. I only wanted to port the new glossy navbar from the bottom but all the images have changed (new names/locations) from 1.5 and I couldnt get my head around them as none of them seem to tally up with how it finally looks.
Need to have more of a play with the Desires 2.1 Sense theme I think. This is the first Hero 'theme' I've been mildly confused by!
Loving that new glossy navbar tho so I hope we get the same one when HTC finally put us out of our 1.5 misery.

How to port a theme?

Hello everyone. I have been using a theme called enoch for cm5.0.8, white widow rom, and I love it. Its a dark theme with blue highlights. My question is there any way to port it to work with cm6? I am using kaosfroyo and would like to see if I can port some of the graphics. Any help? Thanks!

Switch file names to the one you want and resize. Thats all it takes. Ive ported from Hero/N1/DROID/G1 to our phones with just doing that and no issues when using MetaMorph.

Im not quite sure I follow you? Why would changing the name help? Also the maker of this theme only makes it flashable via recovery as of now. Is it possible to port it to metamorph?

by the way I am using your theme as of right now Kevlar. I like it alot!

Some times the file name might be different from G1 to the Eris. So then you have to rename it to the Eris file name. Easiest way to do it is to compare from an Eris ROM. Then you have to resize to our size.

The theme is on Droid-forums.net and is 24k Black glass by Cuttalott. I can not post links yet. Sorry. I do not believe posting that is any rules infractions, but I do not post here very often.
Being from Pittsburgh, it obviously would be right up my alley, but I don't think it is possible. He doesn't have it running yet on CM6, but his other ones are. Is this anyway possible or is it out of the capabilities of our device. Like I said, not trying to bother people here, just too new to know what can and can't be done.

Any theme can be ported. Just look into making MetaMorphs and compare file names and sizes. Its that easy. Only time consuming part is resizing.

This is a preview of a theme Slick Pink Theme I have just finished for CM5.0.8 users with MDPI displays (320x480) e.g. MyTouch, G1, Hero, etc.
This took a LOT of work, so I hope everyone enjoys this and I'm going to try keep this brief.
Beautiful colour scheme - I have used bits off The T-Mobile Pulse and the Motorola Cliq, but cooked up a lot of the UI elements myself
INSTRUCTIONS:
I have no idea how to create an 'update-script' for flashing, so in the meantime everyone will have to push it to the phone manually with:

./adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
As soon as I figure it out, or someone helps me, I'll update this post with the update.zip.
Everything is running really smooth, with a small exception to the music app (the bar at the bottom), but looks reasonably easy to fix, just a matter of finding the right image.
I personally like the white/sliverish bar, but if you guys don't like the white motorola status bar, i can change it to a black bar upon request
I also understand a lot of people are running Cyanogenmod 6 (too laggy on my magic ), and if you're lucky I'll try port it over to 2.2.

If it's using sense, it probably wont work, and will break the htc framework.
Super Eclair, Cyanogenmod 5 and other vanilla eclair roms only sorry

and is there any difference it phone's functionality between cyanogenmod and sense?

I'm not too sure what you mean, but sense is the custom HTC Skin that the system relies on when you are running a sense rom. Cyanogenmod rom is more of a stock android 2.1 experience.

[REQ Theme] VirusRom Airborne 5.3

This Rom/Theme is pretty sweet, is it even possible to port this over to the Fascinate? For the most part I've seen that it is Exclusive to the HTC EVO so it may not be possible but wanted to check it out.

the theme could be ported...the rom atm no as its 2.2....and since im assuming its sense, it cant be ported anyway

It really blows that we do not have 2.2 yet. Especially with that screen shot that we had of end of 2010 and it still isn't here.....
If anyone is interesting in porting the theme it would be amazing!
