I cant get bluetooth explorer to work.
Whenever i tick the check box to enable bluetooth explorer in settings, once i click ok it does not save it and the box is unticked when i open up bluetooth settings again.
Anyone else have this problem?

For those who don't know what the Bluetooth Explorer is, Its quite simple, You need to enable FTP Sharing on your Device such as your computer.. Then open the FTP Explorer on your phone, it will list the bluetooth devices it finds, once it does click the device, and walla all the files that are on the device(computer) folder you setup now show on your phone..
If anyone has any questions about this or needs help fixing it, just PM me.

but nothing happen, I open start > program > without bluetooth explorer
I use mighty rom, window mobile 6.5
I had no issues when I was using WinXP and a Tilt, I could just pair the laptop and Tilt and transfer files back and forth.
I am now on a new Dell laptop w/ Vista (and Dell Wireless 360 Bluetooth module) and after pairing w/ my Fuze, I cannot transfer files in either direction.
Any thoughts????
Hi, I have your exact same setup and just got BT exporer working.
Things to check are:
1. go to settings under "communications manager " and select Bluetooth
2. add your laptop as new device
3. under mode, make sure "make this device visible.." is checked
4, under FTP, make sure "enable BT explorer" and "enable file sharing" are checked.
On your laptop I used the "Bluetooth Information Exchanger\File Transfer\Shared Folder" to transfer files and I got it to work.
It isn't easy to setup but it does work.
Cheers,
Connor
did you try this from the same thread?

Hi,
I'd be interested in everyone's comments re the slowdown caused by adding programs, and I guess others would too.
Part of it is normal caused by eating up the available memory, both storage (and ram?)
However I have found that some applications do not seem to work well on the XDA2i, even though they do actually work. The problem is that this only comes to light after a while, after you've actually shelled out the money for a product that seems fine.
I list below products that I have found work on my XDA2i and those that seem to irritate the XDA2i so that it gradually gets worse and needs a hard reset.
I have tried defragmenting, and believe that Pocket Mechanic works fine a few times then things grind to a halt.
I am not an expert, and obviously cannot prove that the products are faulty, so take what I list 'with a pinch of salt' - but it might be that others might add others or agree/disagree with my findings, and might be careful about thoughily testing before purchase.
1-Calc 2.3.1 seems fine
BIBLE WITH YOU for Pocket PC- GMPSoft seems fine.
Journal Bar seems fine
POCKET ARTIST seems fine
Pocket Controller- Professional 5.04 seems fine
POCKET DVD WIZARD seems fine
Pocket Streamer Pro seems fine
PocketBible - NIV Version by Laridian seems fine
RESCO EXPLORER 2005 seems fine
TCPMP (The Core Media Player) (freeware) seems fine
MTUX RingToneX - Ringtone Coloring 2.1 not sure about this
DVD to Pocket PC for me was problematic after version 2
1-Pass - Revolutionary Security App not sure
eXPerience (Windows XP Style Interface) had this running ok but slow on XDA2 but not tested on XDA2i
File Transfer Anywhere(PPC Anywhere) 3.01. Tried trial period but didn't like it.
iLOCK e-wallet password manager 1.0.1 had this running ok but slow on XDA2 but not tested on XDA2i
POCKET TV ENTERPRISE worked fine up to version 1.2 on my XDA2i
Pocket Mechanic. Not sure. I bought it to defrag XDA2i and storage. Found that after a few times the system slows down and needs to be restored.
TV Remote commander. Not sure about the usefulness because Very limited range.

andromeda9,
try using Tweaks2K2.NET. quite amazing tweaking software. can speed up your display. i can feel the speed different.....
Tweaks2k2net
Thanks Clustered.
I've downloaded the trial. What settings worked best for you?
Under Video, I tick the Speed Up Display.
Thanks the display is quicker...
Thanks for the tip...
The display is quicker.
It seems overkill to go for Tweaks2K2 but just for one display fix, and the Date/time on the bar (I love it!) so is there anything else you might recommend?
Thanks
just try yourself....maybe you will like others.....
Ok.
Appreciate your help.
I removed O2 Active and the XDA2i is about 10 times quicker and more reliable now.
This is how I removed O2 active:
1) Use file explorer to navigate to: my device>windows>startup.
2) Move the file called connections to another folder.
3) Navigate to: my device>windows>fonts.
4) Rename the "xpdr_02" file to "xpdr_021".
5) Soft reset your phone.
6) Go to: Settings>system>remove programs.
7) Uninstall O2 active. You may get a message saying that certain dll files are in use in windows directory- simply use file explorer to rename these files and try again. Rename them back afterwards.
8) Use file explorer to navigate to: my device>windows>fonts.
9) Rename the "xpdr_021" file back to "xpdr_02".
10) Navigate to: my device>windows>mobile solutions.
11) Cut and paste this folder to your built in storage
12) Soft reset the phone.
Thanks Hedley!
Hedley,
:?:
I just thought of a question re your unistall procedure.
After unistall, can you change 'profile' in order not to cause problems on aircraft?
In Active, I quite liked the simplicity of the email setup. I suppose once it's installed it is not neccessary, but did you find / is there anything else likely to be needed after removing?
Thanks
It is definately Faster!!
I am impressed with this one, my XDAIIi is definately a lot faster!
Cheers for that!

Hi Hedley,
:?:
I'm thinking about what you describe, maybe migfht trial it over Christmas... but once Active is uninstalled can you tell me how I might cope with Airplane travel?
i.e. can you turn off the 'airplane' parts? because obviously just shutting down the XDA leves it actively listening.#
Thanks
"Flight" mode
You can enable flight mode (turn off mobile receiver) by tapping the reception icon on the top bar. In the bubble that appears, there is a link to "Turn on flight mode" / "Turn off flight mode"
The piece of software I really miss in the O2 active is the "profile" stuff, which unless I'm blind isn't in the 2003 OS. For example: normal, work, silent, noisy etc
I wouldn't manually uninstall the Active rubbish - do a corporate install instead. If you have to manually delete locked files etc etc you're asking for trouble later.
Thanks MMM
Thanks for the information and tips.
What is a corporate install - I am not familar with the term.

Goto Start->Settings->Today->Items and uncheck the ones O2 puts on there (can't think off hand which ones they are!) this stops the dll in use messages.

The only problem with the corporate install I found, was it didn't setup the O2 GPRS and MMS settings before finishing device setup, I had a pain setting them up manually, and when I finally managed it, they didn't work 100% (or maybe it was i didn't trust my work 100%!)
You can invoke a corporate install by selecting it when it asks if you are a personal or corporate user. it'll ask you for a password, which is 0506 if memory serves me correct.
Guys
I am having real problems getting my GPS to talk to my XDA11i . the two devices appear to talk to each other ( flash furiously) but tom tom doesnt recognise it.
Bluetooth manager confirms there is an active connection.
I believe that the BT profile is not set up correctly.
I can go to BT settings and make a new profile , selecting serial transfer etc and then give the profile a name , BUT , each time I select the profile whilst the access permissions are still as set , when I open the services tab no services are selected ! despite selecting it when the profile was set up ?
Any thoughts here ?
Astro1
Go to BT parameter -> services -> serial port -> options
Write down IN/OUT port number, report the OUT port number to you GPS software.
If pb still exists, try to use "Franson GpsGate" or NMEA as connection within gps software.
Tried that !
Hi NewbiePDA
Been there and tried that , the outgoing port is port 6 and in tom tom 's configuration choices the choice of port 6 is the only oje that seems to get any where ( activity from the LED on the GPS unit ) all other port choices given turn off the GPS.
Ive got a copy of franson gpsgate but got nowhere with it ,
It has to be a simple configuration problem !
I have set up a spp profile in BT settings ( and called it tom tom ) I have ticked the serial connection and then Enable service box then closed down ( hit ok). Upon re opening the profile serial port choice is no longer chosen ? any ideas ?
Best Regards
Astro1
Hi Astro1,
I think that creating spp profile is unnecessary, my procedure is as below:
1) Pair you devices
BT -> BT manager -> tools -> pair device -> add
browse you BT devices then you should see you gps icon appear, click on it, then type you password to pair, usually is 0000
2) back to BT manager, choose "new", choose discover a BT device, again, you should see you gps device, click on it, normally you get spp service, just follow the step by clicking "next"...
If you can't see any services available then turn off you BT gps device, turn off you Xda2i BT, soft reset, then turn on gps, back to step 2)
3) If pb remains, probably it's due to tomtom's bt stack, try rename BtCoreIf.dll BtSdkCE30.dll (in \windows folder) to others name, or delete them.
Hope that helps.
re name or delete
Hi Newbe
I am trying to delete or rename the two files you note , I have seen this on other sites as well .
Like you XDA11i says that the files are in use and read only / archive /hidden or in use etc.
It will not let me touch them !
Any ideas of a file manager or software that will let me work on them ??

download and install gpsdash2 and in the connection settings click on auto config, it will find you gps receaver ad set itself up, this will also give you the correct bt settings, it will show you if everything is working okay. and some cool features.
i had to do this with my jentro bt unit
Hi Skeevee
Ive tried that one too .
GPS gate checks trhe ports and the blue led on the Bluetooth GPS unit flashes furiously ( as if they are talking ) , but GPS gate reports unable to find GPS ???
This is loosing me , it seems to me that the two devices are talking but that there is a comms / set up problem .
TT6 tries to talk to the GPS as well but gets no where ?

I don't know if i'm missing something here, but the bluetooth manager folder in file explorer seems useless. It never finds any of my devices and i have no idea why. It says searching but can't find anything. It can't find my 8525 when it' on and visible. Does the 8525 have to have this for it to work? If not, how can i get it working? Thanks

I had problems with this too, couldn't find the receiver device when trying to send a file.
This worked for me:
You have to do kinda "shake hands" of the devices the first time.
Goto Start menu -> settings -> connections -> bluetooth -> devices -> add new device
(could be named a little bit different, I translated from my german device)
You will be asked for a password. I normally use 0000 (standard BT password), even if it's not the savest way I think
The other device will recognize this and also askes for the password.
Once the device is mentioned in the devices list, sending and receiving to/from it will be possible.
I hope this was what you asked for.

My problem
I have done the whole pairing thing but when i do the discover services it say no services found and it's not connected please advise
u need to go in the BT configuration and under FTP tab check the Enable File Sharing.
For some reason or maybe for me only, this settings does not stick, and I have to do it anytime I want to exchange files. But once I tick the box, I am able to transfer files, contacts and such.
On the same FTP page you can choose to activate the BT explorer. This will browse other BT enabled phones ?! I guess. More like BT jacking?!
is there a cab for the BT Explorer as it is not cooked into the rom I have ??
I've had no issue getting to shares on my network with my Tilt until recently. I've flashed Dutty's WM6.1 RTM ROM and everything I've been using has worked well, except that the File Explorer cannot connect to any of my shares. When I input the path, it pops the bubble up pointing at the wifi icon stating "Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection setting, tap Settings."
Now, in TCPMP and Core Player, I can browse my shares just fine. It asks for a name and password even though I don't use one for my desktop, so I pop in my user name with no password and it shows the shares. File Explorer STILL refuses to do anything but change my settings. I can browse the internet over wifi and stream music/video, but not copy files.
I use a fixed IP's on the network, and there's no domain controller, just a workgroup.
Did I miss something?

Ok chap, you might want to have a look at this program its what ive always used then it makes the mapped files ok with every program as it uses an internal location
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-network-folder-plugin-v1-0.html
Yes, that plugin comes with the ROM. However, I would prefer not to have to map a drive just to access shares. File Explorer has the capability and has worked fine in the past. Has no one encountered this strange error before?

Lets say you got your Phone and Computer
You can Move files from a Folder on your Computer to your Phone from Bluetooth Explorer (You setup your Bluetooth folder on your computer)
and Vice Versa for your Phone
You can Move files from your Phone from your Computer
You just have to go to Settings / Bluetooth / FTP then tick the box that says Share Folder and set the Folder you want the other device to be able to pull files from..
Very Nice Program to use.. Good Job HTC

Holy christ you are a genius buddy!! lol, this been buggin me FOREVER!! lol, apparently when you install "Advanced Config" it automatically has it set as some High number, so when you hit "ok" to exit out of it the first time, your cache gets set to that high number >.>
Anyways, Thanks Again!!!
