I installed the GPS Dopod rom a few days ago and everything worked fine.
Now at once my camera doesnt start anymore, with message:
Unable to start Camera.
Unable to initialize camera.
Haven't changed anything in the last days.
So I wonder, why didn't HTC come up with this GPS rom immediately?
There must have been problems, were those camera problems?
Is your camera still working?

yep (with dopod rom)
No problems with dopod test ROM here. Except I notice that sometimes it locks up after using a GPS program whether it be iguidance or tomtom.
Hmm sorry my mistake.
Was trying some ati drivers from another rom.
That caused the problem.
Camera is working again.

Slightly off-topic but still related to the Trinity camera....
Has anybody tried playing with the hue, saturation and contrast settings to obtain decent outdoor pictures? I can't believe pictures from this thing can be so awful. I had a Qtek S200 before and pictures were bad but now with the trinity they are 10 times worse.
Camera OK

I have no problem with my camera. Picture even seems to be better than my previous Dopod 838 Pro

Really ? But it is still failed on me even though I had upgraded mine to Windows Mobile 6.0 (HTC official ROM) recently. It only happens when I try to switch to seconday camera instead of main.
I still got the same error messages as stated before.
"Unable to start Camera.
Unable to initialize camera"
Regards,

Anny help, please. Thanks

Secondary camera doesn't work !
"Unable to start Camera.
Unable to initialize camera"
The error messages above occurred when I switch my camera mode to use secondary camera. When I'm using video calling mode, I can see only blank (dark) video output. I'm not sure if this is a common problem in Dopod D810 once upgraded to WM6.0. I had asked the HTC support (Singapore) about it and they recommended me to send to Service Center. I'm reluctant to send over my unit to them since it is already out of warranty and am sure it would be quite costly for me to bear.
I wish if anyone of you here has similar problem like I had, do share your experience and your workaround solutions (if any). If there's none at all, I assume this is more to hardware related issues. Which I can't do anything about it but to live with it
Thanks again.
Regards,
Daneal
Hello there,
I just upgraded from T-Mobile Vario II to Vario III in UK. I have noticed that the Vario III screen is 'flickering'. The symptom is similar to CRT monitors running at low refresh rate (~60hz) or interlaced mode.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a known issue? I even notice this on the home screen on Windows blue default theme.
thanks
This has only ever happened to me while trying to run Manila. Not sure what the cause is. seeing as it's new take it back to the shop and ask them for their advice.

Well you probably didn't get the sticker on the Kaiser box you bought, that stated "No drivers included".
I get that screen flicker when heavy scrolling.
Unit replaced at TMobile store!
I took my unit back to TMobile and replaced it fora new one. The new unit is much better - no more screen flicker! Also seems like a different version of firmware (no F-Secure Antivirus)
I also had a very bad flicker on my Orange UK HTC Tytn 2 replacement, had it replaced and the screen was 100% better.
Must bee some bad screens out there.
please help
