If you mean, the original ~190MB Rom from diamond2 will be flashable on Diamond1, I guess not.
You can try some ported versions of WM6.5 available.

Yes, You need to reinstall everytnhing again... but if you have backup... I'm using spb backup and there;s no problem just restore with rom upgrade option..
