You could try calling your service Provider to give you the Sim Unlock Code or you could pay someone to get you the code.

again, thanks for the link.
I posted this response to this same question over in the ROM development forum.
I too am a relatively new user to this board and a complete newbie to flashing the ROM of my Touch Viva. I wanted a newer more finger friendly ROM for my touchscreen Viva and getting the exact answer to how to flash the phone wasn't easy.
I read through different posts and basically pieced together the information that I use from many different posts. I too was concerned about "bricking" my phone and wanted to get it right.
I've flashed my phone with roughly a dozen different ROMs and have finally settled on one that I like and have also flashed a second Viva with an upgraded ROM also. So if you take your time and have a little patience you can do it.
I hope this helps.
Jagan2's guide
I found a great new post by Jagan2 on how to install/flash a custom ROM. You can find it here.
By the way, he is also the chef of a very good custom ROM called Evolution 2 which is what I'm currently using. I'm patiently waiting for his upcoming 2.5 version.
yea man im using evolution too its amazing rom for WM 6.5 ... give it a try and everything and all the steps u will find the in the fourm about hard spl and installing the rom too lemme know if u need help

Attention!!!
You are in the wrong forum!!!
Do you really flashed your device via SD-card. The problem seams to be, Your device is not a Himalaya!!!
Is it a xda 2i? Then it is an Alpine!!!
There is no other WM than 2k3SE for your device at the moment!
Info on this links might be helpful, but they are german.
http://www.o2online.de/nw/support/downloads/software/xda/older/pageframe.html
http://www.xda-zone.de/forum/3263-x-m-da-nach-fehlgeschlagenem-update-reanimieren.html
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Alpine_ShippedOrg
The main thing is to recover your device with flashing the official rom Version.
I hope you made all the pre-flashing preparation, like collecting the original rom and pim-backup ect.
Good luck.
If you don't know it exactly, wich device you got, look underneath the main battery. There should be a sticker with the needed info:
PH10 and then A or B : Your device is a Himalaya
C : Your device is a Alpine
In both cases, the best choice to do the recovery, is to flash the original rom.

I'm happy, that I saw that important "i" this time.
I read about your in your other posts, but you didn't mention, which device your are dealing with.
I hope, you get it fixed again as it is a nice device, even with WM2k3.
Search the Alpine forum, to get a finger friendly desktop surface. It works fine on mine!
The big advantage is: All my additional equipment, as backpack, cf-GPS-mouse and the car-handsfree etc. only work with this one, as there are no full working drivers for WM5/6.X
Good Luck, we hope to see you back with a hima next time, as you are in proctise now. lol
@muckelmaus
Many Thanks man
I've done my case, because of your clear explanation

Xperia Z Help ThreadHello everyone, welcome!
Back when I had a HTC Sensation, we had a great help thread for all device/software related questions and I decided to do the same thing for the Xperia Z.
A big thanks to @undercover for his original idea & to @malybru for his thread format!
General Info
First things first. I strongly advise you to read THIS thread before posting ANYTHING on XDA. Particularly the part about SEARCHING.
Then, have a quick look at the links in post #2 in this thread. You might find what you need right away.
Lastly, even if you do get your question answered, please do come back and read the links in post #2 to educate yourself.
You'll be surprised how much time and frustration it will save you in the future. You might even be able to help others with your new-found knowledge.
If you are able to answer questions, go ahead, contribute by answering questions posted in the thread.
When you post a question, try to include details of your device version, ROM, etc.
It's always a good idea to have these details in your signature, for this, take a look here.
ASK ANY QUESTION HERE, adb, drivers, flashtool, etc. You will either get an answer or will get pointed in the right direction.
No abuse towards noobs is tolerated in this thread!
Please be nice!

EDIT: Done!
I'm after some help with my CPU settings. I'm running stock android 4.1.2 on a C6603. Build is 253.
I've got Rom Toolbox Lite and it has settings to tweak the kernel and CPU settings. I'm after some help as to what settings are the best when I want a decent combination of speed (I'm heavy on the ole Internet and gaming) and lasting battery life.
Any help or links would be much appreciated.
I am rooted but a noob at messing around with it.

To be honest, I have never used ROM Toolbox.
Infact for such apps, most "tweaks" give you a negligible performance benefit.
The only way to truly get a performance benefit is to play around with settings till you reach an optimum.
If you are truly after good kernel tweaks, take a look at Trickster Mod.
For battery savings, I recommend the use of Greenify.

If you are coming from an AMOLED display, then you might find that the Z's display is a bit under saturated.
But actually, the display is quite precise. There is nothing "wrong" with it.
All problems with viewing angles were solved in the subsequent updates.

First, I want to thank you for bringing this to the Sony Xperia Z forum as this would help alot of new and old XDA members. Its an great idea the QnA section is indeed a mess and I do understand that most moderators are busy with other things as well, this would definitely save them alot of time.
Second, You've got my support
mirroring
I can not mirror my Xperia Z with my LG TV, I recently installed the cyanogenmod and mirroring worked, but with the stock roms, does not work, can someone help?
I've recently rooted my Z with Doomlord's Easy rooting toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327472). The root was successful and I had verified root access. But whenever I try to change system files like adding boot animation, editing fonts or even just simply change system files to RW, my phone will automatically force reboot itself. Please help!!!
Firmware:10.1.1A.1.253
Model:C6603

I'm using .423 but already tried with .434 and .253, but it's the same thing, I seek the tv, he thinks, and then the time to connect, it just disconnects before the image appears on TV, the strange thing is that in cyanogem worked perfectly.
Hi, since .423 update I got problem with background data. Restricting it for a period of time then removing it by tapping from notification or setting doesn't really remove the restrictions. Accessing play store gets pop up notification to enabled background data. Problem solved by reboot. Anyone experience this and know how to fix this? Thanks in advance. Sorry for bad english.
Sent from my C6602
Hello there.
Just a completely random guy that migrates to this good forum to ask about something with the Xperia Z1. One device of my friend's is having problems on flashing system.sin via flashtool and I decided to help him by using a flashable zip method. It is well presented by MrSteve555 in our Xperia SP forum and it works really fine!
Thought of doing the same thing so that the Xperia Z1 of my friend could prosper with a system finally filled with stock goodness. So I have already set up and I am missing one piece of the puzzle — the absolute path for the partitions.
So my request is simple, can anyone give me in any means possible, the contents of this folder:
/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/
I would really appreciate any replies, thank you
Also if anyone could pinpoint to a working way on flashing a stock ROM via flashtool without it being stuck on flashing system, it would be great too!
