Instructions for CLOCK WIDGET SWITCHER:
Due to my release of 2 separate clocks, without creating a separate theme I instead added my 2 clock apks for the widget switcher in order to get the 4x3 clocks easily transferable to this build
RED CLOCK => http://www.box.net/shared/gqmih6tx4q

1. Copy AlarmClock.apk to Clock 1 folder in ClockWidgetSwitcher, OVERWRITE
2. Copy AlarmClock.apk to Clock 2 folder in " ", OVERWRITE
3. Run ClockWidgetSwitcher.exe
4. Clock 1 = Black District 9 Clock
5. Clock 2 = Red District 9 Clock
6. Make your selection
7. If needed remove widget from screen and reapply
or
1. Command Prompt
2. cd/ to-file-directory/
3. adb push AlarmClock.apk /system/app
(*** This may mess up your alarm clock icon ***)

im maybe thinking of asking beagz to skin a keyboard for it.. if people want.. or id use touchpal, included with cyan's rom, or your own apks

what color were you thinking for the notifications ticker and the clock and date and such. i think it would kind of be cool and keep with the title if you made the ticker and date a the district gray color and made the clock red. just my thoughts. i like the icons in the first pic, simple but very appealing

First, this was the best movie I've seen in a while. And its well deserving of its own theme. I know you'll do a great job with it. Back in the day your Graffitti Citrus was the ishh! Lol so yeah ill love to see the end product, the mockups definately caught my attention.

i recently got the clock ported... hopefully i can add it to ClockWidget Switcher for those of you that want just that, but the theme when finished will have it, (duh)..

were you going to go with a black status bar like in the mock ups because i think that would look good. and the screenshot is looking great already. is there a way you can incorporate the icon visuals from the first mock up shot into icons for the notification bar like battery and service and data, fun stuff like that.

yeah thats all coming my friend!! lol i had the same idea.. i hate simplicity, love creativity.
And the screenshot i just pushed my alarmclock.apk, well just overwrote one of the clocks in clockwidgetswitcher.exe then sent it through no problem..
but yes the status bar will be black with white and red hopefully, if not then just white icons in some cases.

if you would like some black white and red status bar icons. i have some in my theme that you could take and put in here. here is my thread if you want to see what they look like. i have cleaned the battery icon up some more since those screenshots so it looks rounder. just an idea.

well inspired by your idea.. i just try to put things together right

are you planning on making the district 9 at the bottom of that image the launcher tab? i think if you did it right it could look really good. like maybe if you had a black gradient kind of like in brandenk's oreo theme then put the district 9 over it. then for the when you delete and app off of the home screen you could have the 9 glow red. just throwing up some more ideas.

I saw your going about it all wrong, you should use the blue UI that the alien command module used, make the taskbar almost not there and just a few alien scribles as a laucher tab, and the top a dark blue w/ the clock and everything else light blue for readablitity, circular batery like oreo, but just light blue, and the clock could look like the circular dials on the comand modules UI when they were powering on the mothership..that would rock....just some UI thoughts...maybe make that theme seperate and make it a Prawn UI theme?

i haven't seen the movie yet but monday i am hitting that mofo up. i was just suggesting ideas from what the mock ups he put up look like. i really like the idea of what you are suggesting though. that sounds awesome as well.

i would need more time and hopefully will work on a Prawn UI version i like your suggestions a lot.. this is DEFINITELY a future possibility

[THEME - BETA]AluceLS-v01 now ALUCE

Well I present to you my second theme but kinda like my big first that I have been working on for a while now. I started once the 2.0 Icons became available cause I like the look and it made the phone seem more professional so I based a theme off that idea something that would be professional looking and still retain a style to itself

Did not think to make the drawer glassy good idea thanks going to fiddle with it now.
As for the launcher I might add it. I want to come up with a lock version and a non lock version so maybe I will add to one or both

Yeah...I am kinda happy as to how the camera came out

Got some updates that will be coming tonight...Going to all the advance launcher and also post my Aluse theme without the lockscreen for those that like origional. Also tweeked the app drawer to look a little more glossy and professional.

Sorry for the delay updates will be added tonight....darn work taking most of my time.

Thanks, I have been working on this for a long time and I am really pleased as to the turnout. I know that it may not look like much but I am slowly getting it ready for when the BIG 2.0 updates drop. So for now I sit here and still work on it

Good also for 2.8?

The problem with making a white theme is that the fonts are in white too so they won't show up. I'm not sure yet how to change the font colour.
This only works on 2.9. I started working on it when 2.8 was out, but had to restart for 2.9. I threw away the 2.8 version, sorry!

Sure - The background for the notification pulldown is called status_bar_background.png and can be found in \res\drawable-480x320\ in framework-res.apk
The bottom bar mold, do u mean the 2-tone effect? Doesn't the stock rom already have that effect in stock colours though? The bottom bar stuff is in \res\drawable-port-480x320\ in Rosie.apk anyway.

But I think, it can't be translate to HTC sense....

Yeah looks very nice! But as it's in GDE it might be easier to change the fonts for that. I will start looking into changing the fonts, I'm pretty sure it's possible in Sense.

what i meant with the bottombar see attachment. as long as i know where to look i think i can find it.
just for my curiosity/clarification: all you do to create a theme is extracting the apk, alter the image files in it, compress & resign and install? or is there more to it, like altering xml files (which i can not open as they are compiled?) just that i'm on the right track here...

Now I know that's the bit you mean, I think that's in the same folder as the background transparency, \res\drawable-480x320\ in framework-res.apk. I'm not at my dev computer right now so I can't be totally sure, but if you can't find it let me know and I'll have another look.
Yes you're on the right track, that should work fine. It can get a bit confusing but if you keep all your files organised you should be fine.
I didn't alter any xml files to make my theme, so just leave those alone and replace the .png files.

The file /framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/lockscreen_bg.png is now the lockscreen background. The default should just be transparent black, however it is possible to change it using methods outlined here and here.

* Download the XMLs.zip and extract it to your SD card. The folder "CMTheme" should now be created and contain 4 xml files.

Choose your desired variant (flat or gradient)
Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > User interface > Tweaks extras > Select a theme.

This is the graphite lock-screen. The only issue with this is the bars get drawn when there is an incoming call. As per this post To fix this you will need to flash this file in recovery. Took a lot of playing around with this to get it working but I think it's worth it.

I was actually kind of trying this.
I have flat black down, but the Gradients are of different size and I can't fix them yet, as I have no idea what I am doing. Also, we don't have services.jar for DJ05 figured out yet so we can't get different status bar clock colors.
So basically I can have a kind-of-working Flat Black version in a day or two ready but I can't get the others to work yet.
The icons will work for sure.
If anyone better starts working on this, by all means take it for your own instead of me.

The requests are fine, it indicates interest in the device. It is when that interest ceases that we need to start worrying...

I'd be really interested in this one, it's by far one of the cleanest looking themes out there.

Here's what I have so far. Using sperm spinner circle, deleted Location icon.
Made on top of Incognito, Accurate Battery Mod 2, Metro Station icons for quick panel.
Still working on this. The screenshots for flat black look like they have different colors, so I'll make both.
Like I said, can't do the white ones because of services.jar and can't do gradients because I don't know how to make the images stretch right.

Here's what I have so far. Using sperm spinner circle, deleted Location icon.
Made on top of Incognito, Accurate Battery Mod 2, Metro Station icons for quick panel.
Still working on this. The screenshots for flat black look like they have different colors, so I'll make both.
Like I said, can't do the white ones because of services.jar and can't do gradients because I don't know how to make the images stretch right.

Looks good so far man! Can you pull of the lock screen as well? Either way it's looking good.

This is the Hinted Lockscreen, haven't tried that other one yet. I really don't even know what I'm looking at on that one, and it sounds like it needs extra work to get.
I've got flat white working, but i still need a services.jar to get black clock.

Collecting bits and pieces for my new Optimus Black

I just ordered a new LG Optimus Black since my HTC Desire seems to sabotaging me, lol. I've come around a few images for inspiration, and i want to know how to get them. Haven't yet decided if i want want to tweak the original rom, or go for CM7, what launcher and so on.
1. First pic, fond this among the screenshots for Beautiful Widgets, but what i am looking for here is the launcher, bottom icons and their frame. I might want to use other shortcuts, but i suppose it's easy to make a custom icon for that:

2. In this pic, i'm looking for the neat notification bar without childish colors and with the elegant font used here. BTW, do NOT want the orange default color, hated it when i tried MIUI on my desire. They should be green or blue...
3. Can't seem to find the image atm, but i want some sort of notifications on the lockscreen about missed calls, new sms, new email and new gmail. not icons, maybe just text, and a red circle with a number representing amount of notifications. As far as i understand i can customize a lot of it with minimalistic text, but i probably need something else. I also want to display time, date etc, but not a lot of icons and shortcuts. And a nice discrete unlock bar of some kind.
4. Calendar widget. I like the default one in Sense, but i also like the look of (cal widget?), just plain text on transparent background, no clumsy frame around it. That might also be neat to have on my lockscreen, unless it becomes to much...
I have already purchased SwitchPro Widget and WidgetLocker Lockscreen, dunno if i can use them for anything. Is Better Cut a app i would need? I know this might be a lot, but i have a vision of how i want it to look, and i would really appreciate all feedback which could help me along the way

Yeah, first pic is definitely GO launcher EX, and second pic is obviously MIUI launcher.
Well, you can try both.
Now for the lock screen things, you can use widgetlocker, lockbot etc., and /g/o locker that comes with GO launcher. Just try out all of them and see what meets your needs !
Another thing, if you flash cyanogenmod, you will have a lot more options like in notification bar you can put as many buttons as you want; plus, using Theme Chooser application, you can try many amazing themes ! This device's hardware is quite capable of using every customization without any lag, and blazing NOVA IPS will give you the utmost realistic effect of your theme for sure.
Okay, can't say more. Check the homescreen pic thread in heme Section and see the other user's modding..

Thanks for reply I've been looking trough a lot of homescreens for inspiration and themes, but I want to put together my own "theme" with a sleek proffesional look. Not sin Harry Potter or Star Wars look I guess I have to play around with it...
But is it doable to grab the MIUI notification bar and use it in another launcher?

Nope. It's not possible with any launcher on any device unless you are theme dev yourself..

edit your framework-res.apk
that should do the trick

and thats a fact, you can brick it... I've already tried to edit framework-res.apk from cm7 to add the icons huexxx made but I was unsuccesfull, although the icons can be used with stock rom and nova rom [both are froyo] but can't with cm7 [GB] maybe thats the trick

Just picked up my handset from the post office, and the first thing i want to do is to make a complete backup of it, then it's time to "**** it up", lol
Ok, edit the framework, might look into that. But let's try to attack this from another angle. I don't need the whole dropdown notification bar settings, just it's appearance as it is there on top of my homescreen. Do i need to edit the framework to change the color/image, font and icons in it? I hoped it was just some xml and imagefiles to edit. Or is there a selection of styles for this part in other CM7 themes? My biggest issue with MIUI is the orange color they put everywhere, and on my Desire MIUI was way slower than the stock 2.3 rom.
EDIT: Or another turn of events, i could install the MIUI ROM/Launcher, but somehow replace the ugly orange colors. I suppose i could replace the icons in the bottom launchbar...

I've gotten so much further now But there are still some things that i want to change. Like in this picture, what widget is displaying weather info?
I've downloaded Beautiful Widgets, and i am so not happy with it, so i'm thinking of making something on my own with Minimalistic Text and a weather widget, just need a simple but nice widget with transparent background. I also need a lot of time to figure out Minimalistic Text, it has great potential, but is a pain in the butt to set up, lol.

haha you're right MT is such a pain to set up... I'm sure I saw that weather widget before, where you get the image?? maybe at the thread of "post your home screen" or something like that?

Ok, this is where i'm at so far:
I'm pretty pleased with my lockscreen atm, might fiddle more with it later, but as you can see, the homescreen needs more work, lol. The weather widget is Beautiful widgets, one of the few that are actually 100% transparent. I think i might change it for a combination of Minimalistic Text, and hopefully i can find a widget showing just a moon/sun/cloud, and get its data from the same source as MT, so they will match... These are the apps i'm using atm:
- GO Launcher EX
- GO Launcher EX Notification
- WidgetLocker Lockscreen
- Super Status Bar
- Minimalistic Text
- Missed It!
Also, what does the icon in the upper left corner mean? looks like <D].
