Some questions Im kind of a noob =]

i wanted to know if there was any way to get just flash and multitouch on the g1 without downloading all of the other stuff... im running the US cupcake update...

no. you have to root, install the updated spl, updated recovery image, and a rom that will support the things you want, which at current is limited to hero rom derivatives.

be warned that the hero roms tend to be a little laggy for my taste.
if you want i can give you a great tutorial on how to root ur g1 from youtube. or u can search this dudes channel. thegadgetpro

Metamorph

I few noob questions, i have a MT3G and yes i know this is the dream forum but i believe this one is more active than the sapphire one
I have sensehero 1.4 but i want to go to donut only because i want google navigator and bluetooth, and i was wondering about metamorph,
Can i still any rom and metamorph would work with it?
And if the answer is yes, what rom would you recommend me?
I'm still deciding between the 10 MB RAM hack or better 3D graphics, whats ur opinion?
Any help would be appreciated.

i would suggest the obvious choice: CyanogenMod. i haven't updated to the latest version yet, but it can only be an improvement. it's my go to rom when i need to be stable for several days in a row.

Question about hero roms.

Hey guys, i just was wondering.... Its great that as a community we are coming out with these 2.x roms and they are mostly complete, but i enjoy the sense UI roms. unfortunetly the new sense roms are not very stable so i have been using sense hero 1.4, and i know its 1.5 but is it possible to get gmaps with navi working on this or any other stable hero rom? thanks.

you cant. get kings eclair hero, its way faster than sence hero.

Thanks for the quick answer, i have used those roms and they are just not complete enough. Guess more waiting for me...

G1 update help

Hey I have a friend that is looking to upgrade his phone from the G1 to a new model like the G2 or such, but he doesnt has that much cash, Can Someone recommend a good ROM or what ever I need to upgrade the software of his current phone for him please?

It depends on if you want a 2.1 rom, or a 1.6 rom. If you want a 2.1 ROM, go for openeclair its the best by far of any 2.1 roms. For a 1.6 ROM, I use superd 1.9.3 and its the best, most stable, and fastest ROM out there.

How to downgrade 2.1 to 1.56 or 1.29?

Does anyone know how to downgrade the Sprint Hero from 2.1 to earlier versions? 2.1 is too slow and I want my old Hero back. I have spent 2 days searching and found no good answer.

I think you can just flash the 1.56 RUU, but I could be mistaken.
If you're rooted (which I doubt you are), you can just wipe and flash a 1.5 ROM, or flash a 2.1 ROM that's customized to go a LOT faster than the stock 2.1 lol

Before you do that, I implore you, try this combination here:
The Non-Themed Version of RegawMOD - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=661991 (scroll down, you'll see the link)
Finish setting it up.
Once you finish that, flash this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6972080&postcount=107
Finally, grab SetCPU from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419
Install it, run it, and tweak it to be Max 768000 and min 518000.
I promise you if your phone is not blazing fast by then, I will eat my shoes.

If you are not rooted and you have run the official Sprint RUU's - you CANNOT downgrade your phone.

my advice would be to spend 2 more days on how to make ur 2.1 faster.. not to sound rude or anything, going backwards in life isn't gonna speed things up..
