you havent tried it? i wanna know for sure that it works before i buy it.
just placed an order for the 6 foot wire. thanks. ill post a review once i get it shoipped to me.
Own the 6ft cable and LOVE IT, works fine
Bought 6ft cable off ebay from yourcharger (at $6.99) and works like a champ both charging and transferring files. Worth it if you want a longer cable.
a simple solution is a USB extension cable.. like this:
http://www.bing.com/shopping/starte...F2F9A56C1B547?q=usb+extension+cable&FORM=HURE
i got 2 of the cables from yourcharger on ebay and both dont work correctly, with the stock cable my streak connects to the pc and makes the conection sound and i get the popup asking for usb mode. with the ones from ebay it starts to connect and i get device failed to install error or sometimes it keeps making the connection sound over and over like its shorting out.

Thats strange because the post above says it worked fine for him.
i even took one of the cables to my work and tried it on 2 different computers and the same issue i woul get a driver did not install correctly and unknown device, unplugged it and used the dell cable an it instantly connected and the enable usb poped up in the phone, i think either they are made wrong and the other guy was lucky and got the good one or its the resistance in the cheap chinese wires and its 6 foot long.
I use the usb extension cord. Works great. Peace
RussianSolja, ok based on peterson65's (great year by the way) input, I have to assume he received a bad cable. I didn't buy mine until I saw another review stating the cable work well for him.
On the other hand, to ensure no problems and long term use. If you have a traditional USB extension, like Radimus recommended, would go with that. Additionally that same extension can work with your other USB products as well.
i didnt get just one bad, i contacted the seller and he sent me another one stating he tested it in his own streak and it worked but when i got it it was sealed in a plastic bag unopened, another guy bought one and said in the feedback that its not a streak cable but an ipod cable? it may work for charging connected to the wall adapter fine as i have not tried that but 2 miss made cables in a row? i hope you guys get one that works but both of mine dont i should have spent more and got the dell one

yeah but dell dont have 6 foot cables
almost 500 sales so it must be working for a huge percentage of them, ive found that these sellers usually send you a new one if yours is faulty and not working properly...
i purchased 2x of some 4ft ones two days ago

In which case it wouldn't physically fit in the Dell Streak, as it uses a different connector to the iPod.
I bought 2 of the Streak cables (a short one and a long one) from the eBay seller, and they work at least as well as my genuine Dell cables. The plug on one of the genuine Dell cables has disintegrated.

Gald to hear positive feedback on theses cables and I'm glad I didn't waste my money on a cable that wouldn't work. Thanks guys.
I just got mine in and so fart the 1' one is working well, the 6' and 4" ones work as well. the 1' one isn't made all too impressively, has a cheesy connection head on it. the 4" and the 6' are much better constructed. I also bought their 4 aa charger for the streak. I'll test tonight and post.

I'm looking for a longer charging cable for my DROID 3, the one that come with the phone is too short. I have read that using cheap cables or cables that didn't come with the phone may cause problems.
Mediabridge makes a 6 foot micro usb cable that works great for charging and to a PC. It's on amazon for 6 bucks.
I just use a usb extension cable, seems to work fine
I always buy cables from Monoprice. I've been using a 10ft micro usb cable from them since I first got my OG Droid with no problems.

same here, thats one of the great things about a phone with a USB charger. you can just put an extender in the main charger and connect the OEM charging cord to its female connector. Sometimes i do wish i had one longer cord though because the cables come disconnected pretty easily if you tug on the phone.

Agreed i use a 16 foot BELKIN extension cable lol(use it for other things besides phone).
Cheap chargers may cause issues, but pretty much any USB cable should be fine. A really cheap long cable could have data transfer issues due to not having enough shielding, but for simply charging it would still work.

Same case when i use in car. Charge while using gps to navigate, but my battery still drain fast and at the end shutdown.
Its look like the charge slow using aftermarket micro usb. Do u guys face this problem? Why this happen, i tot all micro usb cable is same.
TQ

yeah i was in the same boat. i bought an aftermarket usb cable. and the cable wouldn't charge or allow me to mount my sd card on PC from Phone. But it works on Nokia C3-01 phone just fine.
I'd stay away from those cables and just buy the genuine HTC cable, atleast they are reliable.
if you want a more cables just look on ebay you can find them cheap, i buy mine for AU$3
I bought cable for Samsung captivate, it`s work fine with pc & car charger. Before Samsung cable i bought cable "prolife" and couldnt charge phone with that.
I've bought this cable: http://dx.com/p/designer-s-flexible-usb-charging-data-cable-for-htc-174cm-length-73860
Works terrible.
I get slow downloads and slow uploads.

Not surprising. The cable is flat, so the pairs aren't twisted, basically clobbering the noise immunity.

Couldn't not be because the shield is not solder in both ends?
By the way, thanks for the insight.
Same problem. I tried with a nokia micro usb cable and it doesn't work! The usb cable of my kindle instead works fine

But the original HTC cable is also flat: http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=196200&phone=196001
I'm reading at Amazon for a guy that reviewed the cable as only working for charging... but in the product description says that should work for data:
http://www.amazon.ca/OEM-HTC-micro-...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1343129060&sr=1-24
There must be a different issue here

the htc cable appears to be slightly thicker, which should give them room for the twisting.
I've find out that the problem only happends when I connect the cable to the monitor (external Dell monitor) and does not happend when I plug the cable directly to the desktop (the front USB port).
I must add the Samsung OEM cable is 95 cm and the "HTC" is 174 cm.
So I think is a matter of noise and cable length.
So which HDMI wire or adapter will work with this thing?!
Thanks

I would recommend an adapter I bought through monoprice. I don't think I can post links just yet but if you go to their site just search for item #7603.
I've tested and it works perfectly. My Nexus 10 is my new NES, SNES, N64, and PSone

You just need a micro hdmi cable, nothing special ..
I don't have the adapter, but does it completely mirror the n10 screen like a desktop?

As far as I know it does. I tested it with Netflix, Emulators, Youtube videos, Android games, and internet browsing, and it mirrored everything pretty smoothly.
Oh and to watcher64, I guess it's just personal preference. I feel like a normal HDMI cable is much more accessible. There have been times when I wanted to connect to a TV at a friend's house and pretty much every TV these days has something which uses an HDMI cable. It's much easier to carry the adapter wit you and just swap wires than to carry a whole cable with you.

Well, it's from eBay.
To echo what has been said, I would definitely recommend a small HDMI to MicroHDMI adapter/dongle rather than getting a long MicroHDMI cable. HDMI cables are fairly ubiquitous and it is nice being able to use any cable available as long as you have the adapter with you.
I also recommend getting this rather than a straight adapter. The previously linked adapter will cause a little less strain on the port than this adapter because there would be less leverage.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I can echo what's been said before about ebay cables. I have one that works well with my XOOM and has been quite reliable (the official Motorola one I picked up off Amazon for 15 bucks or so) and a cheap one that is VERY flaky. It was okay the first few times, but after a few times in and out I think the solder connections inside got flaky. I've sold my XOOM to my mother (I'm very hesitant to sell my devices, but if they stay in the family I might get to see them again from time to time ) and I was going to give her the Motorola HDMI cable for her to use so I'm going to order one of those HDMI dongles right now and we'll see if it treats me well too.
I've been using an inexpensive cable from monoprice and it works great. I think I'm going to pick up one of those short mini-HDMI to HDMI dongles as I always seem to forget to bring the cable with me.

HDMI threw USB
Finally ordered a 1$ adapter (straight , no cable) and a micro usb to OTG wire !
I went with a 90 degree adapter from eBay, as the 90 OTG cable I have works so much better then a straight one ergonomically.
Just tried the adapter i picked up at monoprice and holy crap this thing is incredible on a 55 inch screen (UN55D7050). Played the Timescape clip and the results were jaw dropping. Also text was clear and crisp just like everything else. Love this tablet more everyday.

Yesterday, my Micro USB broke. I could tell after I had my phone plugged in for an hour and it only charged 15% and when i plugged it in again the cable was loose and the slow charging message popped up.
What are the best USB cables that are cheap? Amazon/eBay
What are you using?
Thanks

I was looking for a small one with free shipping. I'm currently using an old Moto one and where it plugs in its way bigger than the HTC. I'd get another HTC one but they aren't real on Amazon and have bad reviews

I'm worried about the size of the end of the cable. The HTC ones are way smaller, here's a photo next to an old Motorola one.
