Hey guys,
As awesome as silicon cases (the treated ones of course, not the sticky ones) may be, they're usually not very windshield mount friendly.
I was wondering if any of you has found a dashboard mount system that works with a silicon case such as http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=26975
cheers
I have flexishield and it doesnt work with the carkit I got from mobilefun it's a really nice carkit without case tho. just the holder is too small. I've seen people melt/sand down their car-kit holders tho.
Car kit for silicon case
the Navman iCN 510 or iCN520 or iCN530 cradle fits perfectly if you hav a silicon case.
Have a look

how will these fit into dedicated incar holders like brodit as brodit are tight/snug fit to begin with......
anyone got a clear-coat of any kind fitted and use it with brodit holder ? or if you do use clear-coat (or similar product) what phone holder do you use with it?
as i want a clear coat but also want to continue using my brodit holder
many thanks
anyone.........
Afraid not i think
I've just taken delivery of my Brodit holder for my Touch HD which has the Zagg invisishield installed, and it wont fit in the holder.
I've tried my friends Touch HD and that fits, i think its size + the invisishield is slightly tacky and provides too much friction to fit.
I'm torn as to whether to return the cradle or try to dremel it out to fit, because I'm not prepared to use the phone without the invisishield (my friend scratched his phone on the second day)
Sanded down the cradle until it fits
I've attacked my brodit holder with wet & dry and "adjusted" it enough for my phone to fit complete with the clearcoat cover.
i have bodyguardz on my xperia. when i was putting it into the car holder for the X1, little by little the sides of the shield were peeling off, so i ended up taking them off completely. that's what happened in my case. anyway, now i have the shield only on my battery cover
might have to get the wet n dry on my brodit too coz my clear-coat is starting to peel off

How do you like the Skinomi TechSkin? I'm thinking about buying the screen protector.
Hi,
I want to use a silicon case, but also would like a cradle in my car.
Does anyone know if the following cradle would fit a HD2 in a silicon case/FLEXISHIELD GEL CASE
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170437174588&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
cheers
These holders have a very snug fit, so its highly unlikely that your device with a a gel/silicon case on it would fit.
Does anyone have any idea if the Brodit Car Holder for the HD2 will fit the HD7? I know the latter is the taller of the two but not sure if they'll justify a new design as it's a case of mm.
hi yes it does fit a little tight but tried it today and it worked fine

Does it squeeze and activate the camera button by accident?
no not at all
Are there any mounts out there that can hold my phone with the standard verzion silicon cover attached? I am looking for a compact car mount like the standard car mount that has the attachment similar to the holster attachment where it just snaps in. I do not want the kind that grips the phone on the sides. I also do not want to have to modify my phone in any way.
Thanks

Having the silicon cover on the phone pretty much precludes using any snap-in holder. If for no other reason that the silicon does not snap.
Further ruling out a mount that would grip the phone would leave only one alternative: a custom mount that the phone would slip into.
That is talking about a mount custom made for the DINC.
No such thing on the market.
Not enough profit margin, unless you would be willing to pay an awful lot of money (enough for the manufacturer to recoup development and production costs) for it.
Your answer is the Soundgate M2 car mount. Very minimalistic in the car and all you do is stick a thin disc on the back of any case or phone directly. Google it. Sticky doesn't ruin your car either. I had it on an BMW M5 attached to the leather dash and it came off clean. Solid too performance on bumpy roads too.

Yes I heard of that, and actually saw some photos of it on here. however I didnt want to have to glue something to my phone. especially since it has to keep going in my pocket. I suppose it depends just how thin it is. maybe its worth another look.
If I recall, the disc is metal and it is held on with a magnet? I wonder if I could stick the disc on the other side of my case so the back would be smooth
I had a Droid 1 and bought a SlipGrip OtterBox Car Holder. Search Ebay for it.
I now have an incredible with a seidio active case and it fits perfect. only this is you have to trim the bottom right piece to allow for the charger to plug in. It looks oem to me and much better than those "one size fits all" Car Mounts.
Anyone have this proclip holder for the shift? I'm wondering if it will work if the phone has one of those cheap rubberized snap-on cases on it.
If not, I might have to modify this one, so it can be charged while in the holder.
I have a case on mine and this holder works pretty well.
